WOU Learning Carnival 2009

Wawasan Open University is organising a learning carnival themed ‘Revolution! Your world. Your classroom’ for people of all ages. The theme envisions the walls of conventional education methods and traditional classrooms being torn down, creating an awareness that there is inspiration and always something more to learn from everything and everyone around you.

Visitors can enjoy the IQ tests, learning clinics (e.g. jewellery-making, film-making and guitar playing), movie screenings, food, carnival sideshows, interesting games (cyber gaming team tournament, paintball target shooting competition and a renowned cashflow game), and much, much more.

There will be live performances by local celebrities throughout the carnival. Asia’s leading hip-rock band Pop Shuvit and aspiring singer Dasha Logan who is the daughter of the late Loganathan of the legendary Alleycats, are set to take the stage by storm. Independent bands that are also lined up for the carnival include High Society, 1300 and Ocean of Fire.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the WOU exhibition booth for information on the programmes offered..Clowns, jugglers and fire dancers will further spice up the day-long event.

The climax of the evening will be the prize-giving ceremony for WOU's Post@Postcard Contest - feel free to browse through the selection of entries at the postcard gallery booth anytime. Prizes will also be handed out for the IQ and paintball challenge.

WOU Post@Postcard Contest extended till 30th April 2009

Based on overwhelming response and several earnest requests from the public, we are pleased to announce that the closing date for the Wawasan Open University Post@Postcard Contest has been extended to two more weeks, that is, until the 30th of April 2009.

Judging will then begin. 8 elimination rounds will commence; the gallery and results will be viewable on the contest website every Wednesday and Thursday beginning 6th May 2009. The prize winners will then be determined by a public voting session for 25 finalists from Monday, 1st June, until Sunday, 7th June 2009. Please view the attached schedule for further information.

Might be moving house over there next year, so would like to consider the broadband connection quality before making a decision. Any comments and opinions are welcome, especially from those staying near the USM hostels at Bukit Gambir.

Torn between choices

Hi there everyone, I'm looking for a prosumer camera, but I'm torn between choices, should I get the S3, or the Olympus 550 with 18x optical zoom and wide angle lens, or should I wait for the S5? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

hey there peeps, was wondering are there any penangfon users here? after reading about TM Net wanting to throttle and have bandwidth limit I don't see any point having a subscription with them anymore, what's the point of having a broadband service with limitations on bandwidth usage? it's like having water supply but with limit as to how much water you can use each month. It's just so duh!

So if there are any penangfon users please let me know how is their service, since from their website I see their package is not bad, more speed for a cheaper rate somemore.

hello, I've problems with people joining my game in flying spaghetti monster, I've forwarded my ports and turned off the firewall, is there something I missed? Cause before I used this dlink router/modem + my original 3com router, people could join my games, could someone help? thanks
