[BEWARE] Canon 70D on Mudah.my

alxlwy — Thu, 23 Mar 2017 23:15:59 +0800

So I'm looking for a used Canon 70D - did a search on a few sites and mudah.my was one of them. I stumbled upon a particular ad on Mudah which caught my eyes; This chap is trying to sell his Canon 70D full set including an additional new telephoto lens for only RM2,500. Such a steal isn't it?!

But something smells fishy... Here's why I think he is a scammer:

1. He would only send the "camera" set via Poslaju (ok, I know this might not really say anything but the list goes on...)

2. The pictures and descriptions that he posted on Mudah.my are the same as one of the adverts in Ebay
Ad on Mudah (I have just reported his ad)

[attachmentid=8632080]

3. In the description, he mentioned that there are some scratches on the camera and said to refer to the pictures but none of the photos emphasized on the camera at all.

4. So I got him to send over some pictures and here's where it gets really interesting.

[attachmentid=8632086]
- No such Mike's Camera in Malaysia only in US.
- Tag says "Body" but referring to his ad, the box is clearly Canon 70D with kit lens.

[attachmentid=8632097]
- Wow, suddenly the deal got sweeter and he's adding two additional battery packs.
- Damn... Looks like he has removed the strap from the plastic and it doesn't look so new anymore.

5. I asked him whether can COD but doesn't seem like he knows what it is...

[attachmentid=8632121]
- and I'm sure don't want any shit at all.
- I got fed up that I just asked him for his bank details to know more of his identity...

For these reasons, be careful when dealing online because this person happens to have multiple identities online and could have different numbers too. Just note NOT to perform any bank transfers to BKWL Enterprise

Apple Maverick OS X Server

alxlwy — Tue, 13 May 2014 23:43:53 +0800

Tried searching for OS X Server thread but don't believe there's such.

Currently I have an AirPort Extreme that's connected to Maxis router (Thomson TG784n). My issue is that I'm unable to connect to VPN out of my home network. When I'm at home, it works fine, but once I try connecting from outside, I get an error saying "L2TP VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting...".

I've opened up the ports (500, 1701, 4500) on the Thomson router and checked with Maxis but however when they checked on their end, ports are still closed. Did a LogMeIn with Maxis as well and setups were fine. Port 500 isn't conflicting with Back To My Mac since it's disabled.

Does anyone knows what the issue is? Could it possibly be the port forwarding configuration in Huawei HG8240 fibre optic modem that needs to be open up too?
