Does anyone know where this originated from, please?

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — The Al-Aqsa Mosque has not received the millions of ringgit that Malaysians donated for its upkeep, said Palestine’s ambassador to Malaysia.

Walid Abu Ali told the Harian Metro website that the department overseeing the donations has no information about the money that Malaysians — who were among the largest contributors — gave towards maintaining the iconic mosque.

“We were told by the department that they never received contributions from the Malaysian people.

“The matter was confirmed by the Al-Aqsa Mosque imam who visited Malaysia recently and said they have not received Malaysian donations for some time.

“We also have proof that there is corruption involving the Palestine funds among non-governmental organisations (NGO),” he said as quoted as saying.

Wali made his remarks during a visit to the New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad (NSTP) headquarters in Bangsar here today.

He also urged Malaysians to be wary of those still soliciting donations for the mosque, given that previous contributions were now missing.

“So I hope that Malaysians should find out where their contributions really ended at,” he said as reported.

Timbalan Presiden Muslim Care, Mohd Johari Ismail berkata, kebanyakan NGO tidak melalui kerajaan untuk menyerahkan sumbangan.

“NGO Malaysia tidak melalui kedutaan kerana Pertubuhan Pembebasan Palestin (PLO) tidak mesra dengan kita,” katanya ketika dihubungi, semalam.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Media dan Korporat Aman Palestin, Anas Abdul Wahab berkata, bantuan daripada pihaknya disalurkan terus menerusi wakil mereka di Palestin.

Foreign analysis on sex video completed

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 — The police confirmed today that the foreign forensic analysis into a sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has been done.

The police said they and the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) will be making a joint statement soon on the matter.

“I saw that the media had covered several statements stating that the police should have identified [the men in the sex video] and the [forensic] report should have been received,” the police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Huzir Mohamed said here.

“True, it is true. We received [the report] end of last year, and we have submitted the investigations papers to the AGC, and the AGC’s side would be making a press statement together with the police soon.”

In November, Huzir had said the police were expected to obtain the results from experts in the United States “by year’s end”.

“What was reported by several media which reported that we would be making an announcement, it’s not like that. What I said last time was that we would be obtaining the analysis report from foreign experts before end of the year. That is true that we received it before the end of the year, but it’s not necessary that I will be announcing about the report.

“I definitely did not state it that way,” he added.

Huzir said that the investigation papers on the sex video were submitted last year’s end to the AGC.

When pressed as to what the content of the analysis findings are, Huzir refused to divulge details, save for saying that the details would be announced jointly with the AG.

On November 20 last year, Malaysiakini reported Huzir saying that the police have sent a sex video allegedly linked to Azmin, to a United States-based university for analysis.

He reportedly said that the university’s digital forensics expert will determine if the video is authentic, before establishing the identities of those involved.

Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz had confessed to being one of the two men in the controversial video released in June. He named Azmin as the other person.

Azmin has strongly denied the claim, saying it was aimed at killing his political career.

Previously, lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla, who is reportedly close to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, had also called for the police to reveal the progress of the investigation to the public.

Nigerian man charged with murder

SEPANG, May 27 — A 36-year-old Nigerian man was charged with murdering Serdang Hospital nursing sister Siti Kharina Mohd Kamarudin, in the Magistrates Court in here, this morning.

The accused, Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert from Benin City, Nigeria was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The murder charge was then read to Oluwajuwon by a court interpreter in English in front of Magistrate A. Akhiruddin@Boy Acho.

According to the charge, he had committed the murder against Siti Kharina, 41, at Tower 1, Third Avenue Condominium between May 9 and May 15.

No plea was recorded from the accused who was unrepresented.

The court fixed July 31 for mention, pending the submission of several documents.

Among the documents that need to be submitted to court are the chemist report, the DNA report, the forensic report on seized close-circuit television recordings and a report on a mobile phone seized during the case.

The same court later released a 35-year-old Nigerian woman and a 38-year-old Pakistani man who had been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder earlier.

However, both were ordered to surrender their passports until the end of the court case.

Siti Kharina was reported missing on May 8 and was found dead with slash wounds on her chest, neck and head by the owner of her rented condominium unit in Cyberjaya on May 15.

Seeking the next job & overall career progression

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about my current job, career and my parents who can no longer work due to age and health. With my CV and cover letter ready to be tweaked for job application, I want to get as many inputs as I can from people (hiring managers even) in the industry.

I’m in my early 30s, working my first job in healthcare/clinical diagnostics for 6 years now and I’ve been leading a section for the past 2 years. As I casually look these past months, I find that the medical device / food manufacturing industry is where the opportunities lie. Career-wise, I feel a new and more challenging curve is needed. Getting comfy and having moments of apathy bother me a great deal.

My questions are
1. Do I need to apply for entry- to mid-level jobs seeing that I’m ‘new’ to the industry? Sure, the knowledge is there but I note the requirements for industry/practical experience.
2. And to secure* the future for my family (I’m single), I understand that I need a bump in my salary in the next 5 – 10 years. How do I know that I’m ready to apply to a managerial position? Or will we? Is this just the fear of the unknown and compounded, probably, by lack of exposure to the industry I might apply to?

I’d love to hear from you all for 1 & 2 above and perhaps some tips navigating through what I deem to be a [hopefully] brief period of self-doubt.

Patching a leaky aluminum awning

With the rainy season now, I find water dripping from the awning . Will climb up during the weekend and see if I could patch it.

What kind of material should I be looking for at the store to cover any repairable holes?

Puncture in the shoulder area

After only 12000 km, saw this while pumping air. Will pull the screw out tomorrow and check for any leak. Read that it's not repairable but for those with experience, will the shop accept for trade in?

Plan on replacing a pair and use the good one as spare.

Carburetor service and tuning

Firing order for 2003 Wira

Can someone help me with the firing order of a 2003 Wira 1.5L? Took out the cables to inspect (cracks and sparking with water) and now won't start.

Could have killed my plugs digging out the carbon and ash. But worry I messed up the firing order.

As in d pic, its 4-3-2(below 3)-1 but not sure if I spaced out while I label it

Changing to Original or Branded Shocks

Dear all,

When the time comes to change those replaceable / wear-and-tear parts of the car; be it shock absorbers, spark plugs, wiper etc., is it always better to go for those with brands? Meaning, not those from your own manufacturer (the one fitted to your car when it comes out from the factory). Yes, I have search the forum for shocks and pricing for tires. I see names like KYB, Koni, Monroe etc. and was wondering how much difference in cost these things are compared to the stock ones?

I drive a Perodua Kancil and [finally] it's time to change the shock absorbers (and get the suspension checked) and the tires. Am working out the amount I have to pay for two tires and possibly all four absorbers.

Looking for a normal ride and nothing else. I expect to pay RM 105 (max) per tire for a Bridgestone so RM 250 set aside for both.

Now, is it possible for me to get around RM 400 / 450 for front and rear absorbers? Am pushing the limit for the month though.

Help out please? There are more queries but one at a time, no?
