Hey guys, I'm currently in a dilemma as in which university to choose. My course of choice is Business in Commerce Major in Accounting.

To make things simple, here are my pros and cons for both, I'm quite stuck at this.

Taylor's
Pros:
Price - Est. 50k~ (Scholarship, 3 years and assumed kept until the end of course)
Active Extracurricular Activities - Enables me to gain more communication skills, handle situations, etc.
Frequent talks are held - Experts are called to campus to give speeches, those stuff.
More fun environment?

Cons:
Accreditation - UniSA is not really prestigious university
Lecturers - Having heard many complains about them, I would say they aren't very top notch

Monash
Pros:
Accreditation - Renowned university
Lecturers - Famous for their quality, if I heard correctly
Conducive study environment (very quiet o_o)

Cons:
Price - Est. 93k~ (Without scholarship, 3 years)
No Extracurricular activities
If I wanna twin to the main Monash campuses i'll need to take Engineering maths (I didn't take grade 12 add math, and am very bad at add maths itself)

So yeah, this is somewhat my problem, which lies between mainly, the price between both universities, and the prestige.

If I were to go to Taylor's i'll be saving my parents a whole load of cash, but risking a possible unemployment in the future due to a not-so-famous certificate. However, if I look at it again, the ECA is really good, this might make one stand out when in interviews due to various experiences. Do bosses look for the prestige, or communication skills?

Then, when it comes to Monash, if I do go there, I'll be spending the full amount 93k~, getting a good certificate, and perhaps top notch lecturers (I think).

So, it's price vs prestige, fun environment vs study conducive environment, ECA skills vs Knowledge.

So, this is basically my problem, I need help on making a decision asap. The course registration deadlines are coming! D:

Pre-U questions

Hi there, I just finished SPM, and am now trying to choose a Pre-U course. In the future i'd like to do an Accounting and Finance degree. Which Pre-U course do you think would be better?
Australian Matriculations or Canadian Matriculations?

I did visit two colleges which were close to my house, Taylors and Sunway.
For now, my choice leans towards Canadian Matriculations, but which college should I choose? I heard that for Taylors CPU, their lecturers are better as they are mainly ang moh.

As for Sunway, I havent heard anything. Does anyone have comments about it?

And, about the environment, I heard that Taylors have alot of foreigners? Is that true? :S Rumours heard from my friends.

ps: I am aiming for Monash A&F in the future, but I wanna do a more general pre-u instead of MUFY.

Do tell me if you feel my questions are confusing. I am trying to make a decision ASAP.

Hey there, I currently just finished my SPM, and am having quite some trouble deciding on what Pre-U to take.
The college ill most probably enter is Taylors.

What difference is there in January and March intake?
My friends told me that March is much more cramped compared to January, because no matter when you start, the exam will be at the end of the year. Is this true?

If I want to take an accounting and finance degree after Pre-U, what subjects should I be taking ? @_@;;
I was thinking of Accounting Studies, Economics, Legal Studies, Psychology and English Studies. Please give a comment on this..

What size monitor can my system support?

System specs are at my siggy. I was wondering what size monitor can my system handle at optimal quality without having latency or slow down issues.

Im currently using a 16" flat screen monitor which plays at 1024x768 @ 75Hz.

My rig specs are at my siggy.
anyway, just incase, my budget is rm 500.

The reason I open this thread is because I saw people talk about how the large sized monitors may affect the performance of the system.

Can my rig support?

CPU : E2180
MOBO : Gigabyte 945GCM-S2L
RAM : 3GB Value RAM Kingston
Current GC : NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
HDD : 40GB
PSU : 450 Watt Cap ayam

Im planning on upgrading to ATI Radeon HD4770 to play on a 23" LCD.

Would my current MOBO and the new GC be enough to support the monitor running at 1920×1200 resolution?
My budget is rm800 including the 4770 , excluding the 23" LCD.
Rig is used for gaming and CG.

Any other suggestions for parts?

ps : I dont think I can afford a new mobo + CPU all together yet.

Hey, im planning on upgrading my computer soon.I use the computer for gaming[L4D,COD4] , photoediting/CG , listening to music.
edit : I wont get the 23" LCD , will be sticking on to my current 16".
So could you guys please suggest me what parts to change? Im a total newbie at upgrading computers so please bear with me.

hey there, sorry for the weird title. Well, I wanna ask a few questions

Will I need to be really good at addmaths in school to survive in the engineering course?

Will things be thought from square one? As in, will they reteach what was thought in Sek.Menengah? or will they continue from where the school left off?

My physics and modern maths is good. But my add maths is real bad, only passed once..

Hey there , im having a problem with my monitor. Im using a BENQ T705. Just yesterday, this long line of 1 pixels vertical on my monitor appeared..they are all red in colour..-.-" is there anyway to fix this? I read a few guides , but they only gave solutions for white and black stuck pixels.
So..once again, is there any solution to fixing my monitor?

ps : have been using for 3 years or more..and I think there is no more warranty.
