Just got off the phone with Customer Service and I am a little bit confused about everything

I want to port in to Hotlink. So correct me if I'm wrong, but if I port in to Hotlink, then subscribe to the monthly RM30 2GB data plan, I will get free Spotify premium every month right (as long as I am on the monthly data plan)?

Follow up question is when did this start? I'm trying to gauge how long will this offer last since it seems like hotlink can remove it any day.

Will taking a short break after my undergraduate studies affect my job prospects?

I got a first from a pretty decent university in the UK. Was thinking of taking just a few months off, not necessarily a gap year. Also signed up for the December CFA. I have to admit that decision was made without too much consideration (as the deadline was approaching), but my thinking was that I could spend the next few months studying and doing some personal hobbies instead of spending my break doing absolutely nothing.

I've also been doing some research on what jobs to apply for as my degree was pretty broad. I guess I could also start working earlier, but I'm not too confident about having to study for my CFA on top of a 9-5 (or potentially 8-8) job.

Any thoughts?

Need help restoring backups

Backed up my phone, restored it to 5.1.1, jailbroke it, restored with previous backup.
Problem is, it didn't not restore to my backup; it only added my apps, but SMSes, app data and pictures are gone for some reason.

I've checked my backups, i.e. selecting random 3mb+/- files and adding .jpg as a file extension and found that my pictures are indeed in my backup.

I restored my phone once again, hoping to find another 'backup' for me to restore my phone, but it only restored with my new backup. My previous one with the pictures are indeed still in my computer.

Any ideas how do I get my phone to restore with my previous backup?

Looking for an app to track expenses

Was hoping to find an app that lets me record how much a person spends on separate accounts, since it wouldn't be fair to just divide by the number of people that are going.

I'm guessing that here's the right place to ask since it's an accessory for iPhone (and other gadgets too, but I own an iPhone xD)

Does it matter whether the battery pack is branded or not? As far as I'm concerned, the only 'branded' battery pack is VIVIS. It's slightly pricier than those brandless ones with huge 'charging capacity' (mAh).

They appear on Groupon way too often and I feel tempted to get myself one ... should I? If yes, VIVIS or not necessary?

iPhone photo backups?

When you restore your phone and you sync it back to your PC using your previous backup, your photos from your camera roll will appear again, right? But I googled and others say that photos are not backed up? Where is it stored ... is it even stored? How does it work?

It's my fault for not backing up my phone when I restored it. I just assumed that iCloud would back it up, but only my contacts and calendar was saved. Probably because I forgotten to tick something. Oh yeah, I only started using iCloud now ... so the photos weren't synced to my PC.

Just wondering whether is there a possibility that there's a stash of my iPhone pictures hidden in one of the files in my computer ._.

Also, is there other alternatives for iTunes? Is it recommended?

I have pretty much accepted the fact that my pictures are gone ... but I still hope that it isn't true ...

Is there a way to view newspaper articles online?

I have no idea what the manga's name is ... furthermore I read it several years ago ... and it was in Mandarin ...

All I can remember is that it's about this kid and some demon that only he can see ... and they sort of went together on an adventure? Quite gory if I'm not mistaken ... the demon was bad in the beginning but became good?

The setup was already in Chinese, with a mixture of English here and there. Can't find any place to change language settings after installing the programmes that come together with the external hard disk (drive?).

Was told to download something from their website, but after downloading, I realised that it's the same setup as the one that was already in my ehd.

What are the odds of getting scholarships?

Especially when your competitors are national-level contestants at something.

Everyone will always say that if you apply, there's a better chance than not applying at all. But unlike the lottery, where winning numbers are chosen at random, your application isn't. Chances of securing a scholarship might even be lower than winning a lottery ticket if your application isn't competitive at all.

I was quite active in co-curriculum back in my secondary school days, but never good enough to represent and win something significant. Plus, most of my certs are in academic co-curriculum, not sports-related. I guess I could bullshit my way through the interviews by talking about fictional events that I helped to organise as president of a certain society, but I don't want to have to resort to that ...

I guess what I want to know is has anyone with average results (as in slightly above the minimum requirements) and really average co-curriculum participation ever gotten a scholarship? Oh, and by scholarship I don't mean tuition fee waivers that are given out in bulk.

EDIT: I'm referring to oversea scholarships, which should be the most competitive in nature?

Volume problem?

With my headphones/earphones on, having the volume at half the volume bar is loud enough for me, but recently, the volume becomes very soft and then I'll have to set it to almost maximum.

But after a notification, the volume will go back to normal and I would experience a near-deaf-experience.

Any idea how to resolve this problem?

How do you know which genre does the game fit into

Like in the app store, you can find the categories for the games (just games only) on the bottom right, like Action, Adventure, Arcade, Board, Card, Casino, Dice, Educational, Family, Kids, Music, Puzzle, Racing, Role Playing, Simulation, Sports, Strategy, Trivia and Word. But when you're at the page of one specific game, it doesn't state which genre the game is. While some are obvious, there are some which I don't know how to categorise :/

Also, when you combine 2 games, if you're lucky, they are both of the same category and the folder name will automatically be that genre. Problem is ... I can't try combining every combination of 2 games, can I?

So ultimately ... my question is, is there a way to see what genre a game belongs to?
