Shoppers, businesses wary of large group of teens

A big group of teenagers who gather near the Suria KLCC mall at Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur on weekends are causing uneasiness among patrons and business operators.

The youths, aged between 13 and 17, gather near the fountain outside the mall and sometimes get into fights.

Business operators are worried that this will scare off patrons if nothing is done.

An assistant manager at one of the restaurants facing the fountain expressed his concern with the growing number of teens hanging out at KLCC. “I have worked at this restaurant for almost two years and I have not faced such a problem.

"These teens only started hanging out here around April and so far they have been a nuisance and bad for business.

“When a fight breaks out, it frightens off the customers. Especially on weekends, many people like to have quality family time and enjoy a quiet dinner, but when something like this happens, it leaves a bad impression and patrons do not want to return again,” he said.

He had also lodged complaints with the management, but as far as he knows, nothing much had been done to address the issue.

“If this problem persist or is left unattended, it will drive away business not only for my restaurant, but for KLCC and its image as a premier shopping centre,” he added.

The teenagers are believed to be the same group that used to hang out in front of the Pavilion shopping centre in the Golden Triangle.

Furqan Aree, a patron who frequents KLCC and its park, said: “It (the big group of teens) makes KLCC park dodgy for recreational and dining purposes.

“I fear for the safety of my belongings when I do dine here. While the presence of these teens is a nuisance, it doesn’t deter me from coming here, but it definitely makes me uncomfortable.

"I urge the authorities to handle this pressing issue expeditiously and effectively.”

The fountain and park comes under the management of the KLCC Park.

An officer with the security office of KLCC Park told The Malaysian Insider that they were taking steps to ensure nothing untoward happened.

“Usually during weekends, the police are already on standby around the park area to ensure the safety of shoppers and tourists.

"We are aware that there are teenagers hanging around the fountain and the park, if a fight does break out, we will hand them over to the police”. – May 31, 2015.

Wanna know wat's /k/ thoughts on this shit.

Say, a class of 30 people.

20 people are usually silent, those 10 people simply asks for schedule change without considering if they were depriving others.

then perhaps out of the 20, only 1 - 2 speak up and 18 diam saja.

"majority wins", but because of this stupiak vavi some people will lose part time jobs.

Reason for change is, because they were hungry and cannot take another hour of class.

my part time job related to my degree sudah hilang, that means I cannot work during studies to get experience first riao.

Vavi taylor's students, didn't even propose to entire class but meet up secretly with lecturer. Lecturer also another stupiak.

EDIT: psssh, better put this here, yes I'm one of the 2 that spoke up. But because I think lecturer also wants to have lunch. 2pm eat cannot meh. She treats her job like vakasyun.

PETALING JAYA: A group of Universiti Sains Malaysia medical students has allegedly been brainwashed into leaving their studies by a Buddhist monk.

Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia lay adviser Chong Hung Wang said the student Buddhist association from the campus in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, had voiced its concern that around 30 medical students had shown behavioural changes and disinterest in their studies after returning from a trip to Thailand with the monk in August.

“These students were led to believe that patients should not receive medical treatment for their condition as sickness is the result of their karma.

“They are convinced that they should not become doctors as the act of treating patients will interfere with karma,” said Chong.

It is believed that the monk had approached the students in March this year and had gained a following through religious activities conducted off-campus.

The monk also allegedly claimed that he had supernatural power and was able to tell the past and predict the future of the students.

“Compassion is central to Buddhist beliefs. What the monk had propagated about leaving patients to their sickness is wrong.

“We hope to curb the spread of misleading religious beliefs among students by creating better awareness on the true teachings of Buddhism,” said Chong.

The students are said to want to leave the medical school and transfer to other programmes such as nutrition and sports science.

They are also having strained relationships with their family members following their decision to quit medical studies.

It was understood that some of the students were in their third and fourth year of studies.

A university official confirmed that three students had applied to transfer to other courses.

Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Datuk Omar Osman said none of the students had received approval to switch courses and the university viewed the matter of students being influenced by misleading religious teachings seriously.

“We do not want the students to simply switch courses because they are very good students and had worked very hard to gain a place to study medicine,” said Prof Omar.

He added that the university was reaching out to the students through counselling.

Alright so i was driving on Jalan Genting Kelang, at definitely below speed limit (60KMH) 2 days ago

Suddenly, there was this group of students who just came down of the bus, started to run across the 3 lane road ,both the lanes on the left is jammed, and the right lane is clear ,i knew students always do this, they always ignore the pedestrian bridge 20 meters away.

so when i was driving ,suddenly not far away (roughly less than 20 - 10 meters?) im not sure how far but it was just nice enough for me to brake until less than 10 or 5kmh , and then after the road was clear and everyone was literally just next to my car(at this point the car is still moving, was stopping already, but my legs were still pressing the brakes fully) suddenly 1 girl walked out, it was a good distance until my car would stop, so i honked for a whole 2 -3 seconds, but she took a step forward, and then i banged the girl,she stood up with no scratch but just a pain at the knee.

I brought her to the clinic, doctor says shes fine, i was ok with paying half the amount in the clinic receipt,she admitted it was entirely their fault and would not report to police,as they just ran pass and the girl even continued walking when i was less than a meter away from her.

But yesterday, 2 guys and her friend came and demanded a full payment on behalf of her parents, i relented because her parents wanted it, afterall i did hit her with a car.
but the 2 guys were just threatening "report polis la, enough no need say anymore we report" that kinda thing..

so i need /k/ opinion, should i speak to the victim and explain that it is entirely unfair to put the blame on me with hopes to get the small amount of money back.

or should i post their names and photos of the 2 guys and her friend around to tell people to beware of this "scam"

TLDR : mou la la u driving suddenly 1 person jump out ignore pedestrian bridge so near to your car then u lose RM35 , paid but can get back anot and is it even my fault

i offered a frienship handshake , he ignored me, the hell

this is one of the fagget that budge his nose in and threatens to make a police report if i dont pay up.

ok , problem is like this as described, on his unifi router, there is NO dsl light, his phone line is ok,it shows connected but he can't surf the net or even sign in MSN.

as title states, my audio is reversed,when im playing call of duty and get shot on the right, i hear it on the left and vice versa.

i hear this in mp3 files,and all other things, even the sound "tester" that came along with the motherboard software does the same, it plays left but i hear it on the right.

can anyone help me with this?

hello guys, im "quite" new in this forum with maybe 5 posts i think? anyways not more than 10 i guess.

so i've called up bentley and asked for these items.. the Eric Clapton Mid-boost kit.

comes with a circuit board with 25db of gain and a TBX tone pot.

it gives the extra "groaning" sound for strats which will make it sound more or less like a humbucker(thats what they say) , just that it can be adjusted with the TBX tone pot only whenever you want the extra gain.

this thing is found in Eric Clapton's Blackie strat, and also all of its fender clapton signature series.

anyone have any idea where do i find this stuff?

its a pre-amp installed in the guitar , usualy used for strats, but i heard good for LP's too.

but im still thinking of getting either

Edifer M3300SF , or either Edifier C3, budget is RM350,any other suggestions? which 1 is more recomendeble?
