engine oil pressure issue?

heya folks, recently i'm having this weird issue after i went for engine oil (5w40 full syn) & oil filter change.
i check the dip stick, engine oil is full. check oil filter, found no leakages.

A. when i start my car, for the first 5 seconds the idling is much rougher than usual
B. after driving about few minutes the engine oil pressure light will be flashing

for issue B, it only flashes when my car rpm goes below 2000
if i drive around at more than 2000 rpm the light won't come on

anyone can advise what to check/do?

Yellow Headlights, legal?

as far as i know, HID/xenon lights being retrofit in reflector housings are illegal...
but what about the color range? i recall reading somewhere up to 4300k is still JPJ legal

if i want my change my halogen main head beam & high beam to be 2500k yellow halogen bulbs, would jpj kacau?

desktop randomly crash

Heya all, been a while since i posted here in hardware Q&A~

Desktop crashed at login screen, no BSOD... specs as my signature, mobo BIOS is the latest d

1st i check event viewer no error log, so i ran chkdsk /f & reboot
after that login no prob after surfing net for few minutes crashed again.

now try swap memory slot (2x2gb ddr3 corsair value ram). set memory to 1.35v was on auto setting, no ram OC.
ran Prime torture test for 30mins... swap back to same slot early ran prime again,
try diff pair of value ram (mushkin) ran prime again... processor max temp is only 42c
weirdly no issue now, possible slot issue?

or it's time for i7 2600k? lol

my specs in my sig, processor clock at 3.4ghz 17x200 1.4v
no OC on sapphire 6850 (normal edition, 775/1000), driver 10.10e on win7 x64 pro.
ccc settings all on default, tested on both 1080p & 720p resolution.
single & dual monitor tried

so far i getting random bsods when gaming for more than 1 to 2 hours
happened on wow cata, fallout new vegas & crysis warhead. all games patches updated

weird part: i ran both furmark 1.8 & prime95 for 2 hours, no crash no errors. gpu temp never exceeds 75c
first 3 days off receiving the card during idle card will downclock core clock & vram,
but now it won't downclock its vram on idle, only core clock downclocks during idle

so i grab a empty 320gb 7200rpm hard drive, install fresh windows & updated driver.
swap another 6pin psu cable, reseat gfx card. removed sound card, tried diff pcie slot
despite everything i tried, still same issue when gaming

should i wait for ccc 10.12 driver update to be release or RMA it?

oh btw, my 4890 ran all the games fine

should i vacuum my lappie? was in bag though

my car windscreen shattered after kena flying pebble & ninja pothole combo
my lappie in bag was on front passenger seat. bag not close.

i gonna vacuum the crumpler messenger bag, should i vacuum my lappie too ?

i try fiddling with i3, but it'll exceed the 1k budget i was provided

heya all, i'm here to ask for your opinions again

I mainly use my system for games, movies, music & the occasional VM (usually 2 vm for testing stuff)

here's my current spec:

for gaming: will upgrading to DDR3 plateform while keeping the x3 be good or should i upgrade to x6 for better performance gain?

from what i gather, x6 will allow me to run more VMs. but not a necessity for current work.

OR should i just saved up & get an upgrade which is a bigger step up from my current setup

system speed up unreasonably

hi all i'm running win7 ulti x86 RTM on my desktop, i'm typin this on my lappie
my system abruptly decided to frenetically speed up

symptoms:
- mouse clicks & keystrokes auto repeatedly keep gettin input, unless i just tap the mouse button or key very swift & lightly.
- movies, games, audio/mp3 & busy hourglass (or win7 circle swirling) is all speed up to at least 4x

things i tried/done:
- i haven't install any apps/games or updates for more than a month now
- reset overclocks on processor & RAM to default speeds, set all voltage adjustments to default
- AVG & Spybot is updated often, just ran a scan on whole system (all partitions) nothing turn up
- no sys restore point, i can't remember if i did set any
- checked task manager, network & memory monitor is idle, CPU usage is fluctuating around 20-50% (usually on idle is 20-30%)

possible worm?

try windows repair from win7 dvd, same issue

Heya Hardware Q&A folks

This issue has been bugging me for a while...

When i'm playing WoW (world of warcraft), my FPS will randomly dip below 30fps.
I have Everest running on my g15 LCD showing gpu & cpu core speed & load,
I noticed when on wow my processor will downclock to 600-800mhz but not the GPU.
processor is at max clock speed when on other games (crysis warhead, modern warfare 2, fallout 3 etc...)

What i have tried so far,
- In BIOS, both C1E and Cool & Quiet is disabled.
- OS reloaded, Win7 power management set to max performance
- reinstall WoW & tried running without mods
- ran Prime95 large FFT test for 1 hour, no errors (pic below)

hey all

my current dilemma, which one to use

one Dell 27" (2709W, IPS, 1920x1200, displayport, hdmi, vga/dvi, card reader)
three Dell 20" (Ultrasharp 2009W, TN, 1680x1050, vga/dvi)

now using 4890 vaporx,
maybe going ATI 5850 for eyefinity 3x1

5850 temps on stock cooler idles 42c, load 77c (dun think they tried furmark)
compare to my 4890 vaporx, idles 51c, furmark load 81-90c
both of them are same length

i play on 1920x1200, would it be a good upgrade ?

temps are actually my main concern since i'm on sff matx casing (v351, with HD cage removed)

Xonar DX hardware clicks

Possibly hardware related
when windows bootup, the sound card makes a click noise (like sharp *TAK* noise)
it does the same when changing modes between headphones, 2.0, 2.1 & such...
the click noise is audible even without any speaker/headphone connected to it
onboard audio is disabled in BIOS

- should i try slotting the card onto PCIe x16 to see if same issue happens?
- the sound quality is ok but could it be a possible capacitor issue ?

Xonar DX audio clarity is very good (clean?) with my AD300 (thinking about going to A500 d )
after some testing with mp3 & FLAC on foobar,

- 128kbps ones sound really really bad now
- while 320kbps ones sound slightly better in terms of clarity compare to 192 kbps
- anything above 320kbps ones i can't hear the difference T_T
- those 800+ kbps FLAC is beyond my comprehension
- dolby headphone feature hampers music listening, it makes every sound like they're coming infront of you

game audio is really good compare to onboard, enabled Dolby Headphones
DH1 sounds just right for virtual surround, DH2 & DH3 has too much echo coz i think it's trying to emulate a wider soundstage.
the virtual surround for rear left or rear right doesn't sound convincing though, maybe it's because i'm using open cans?

My 4890 vaporx is kinda warm, here's my current temp on furmark
(stock clock, 875/1050 but i had to downclock it...)

Strange though, i can't see VRM temps

I'd tried running without side panel, tried without fan shroud, clean & reapply thermal paste resulted in same thermal performance too

Which VGA cooler should i get?

Thermalright T-Rad2 (pricey, not sure can fit 4890...)
Accelero Twin Turbo (might not fit, since i got only 2 more slot next to vga PCI)
Zalman GV1000 / Zalman VF2000 (saw them at sri computers)
