WTA Which External HD is the best for Mac?

To all Sifu in this section,

1)would it be wise if I just buy a HD external for Mac, or I heard we can format our old HD to Mac files using mac. What are the disadvantages if I just use the old HD?

2)Is there any recommended brand for Mac External HD? Seagate vs WD, which one better? Or just branding?

please help. I just got my ipad2 white 64gb wifi+3g. first time boot unable to do. it jus stuck on the apple icon for more than 30mins, with or without the cable plugged onto my lappie. what should i do?

Ive tried pressing home and off button for 10seconds, it managed to reboot but still stuck at apple icon.

As the only son of the family, I usually carry the hope of the family; to bring the family to a better life, carry along the good names of family, make family proud of me, etc. The list can go on and on. Usually I would like to put priority first, but in LOVE, there is sure give and take. The problem now is either to weigh family's opinion higher than myself.

I am 25 Y.O.Current GF and I has shared 2 years together. She is the sticky type, where we maintained LDR for about half year already. We usually meet each other when I go back hometown, where we are from the same place. Everything is quite good; we seldom quarrel, often talked through and discuss about things around us. In front of me, she is quite THE ONE. Personality wise, during the first year, she was all good. Then after 1 year, her patterns started to show out.

My family puts mannerism as the priority, and majority has around the same opinion regarding her. The main point is, she shows lack of manners in my family. Where usually during meals, we would greet elderly before we begin, she failed to do so. Secondly, she begins to show her pattern after 1st year; "black" face during outing, disrespect my parents and sister, and always prefer to go out with me only. I am the only son, whom my sister got married early this year. So as the only son left in the family, it's my responsibility to take care and bring my parents to go out and relax together, as I only come back hometown one weekend in a month. Maximum would be 2-3days only.

I am a Mommy's boy in the house; her words are still my commands. But I'll have my stands if her commands are not right. But whose parents would want their son to have a miserable life future? My mom certainly does not like her; she feel I should have no problem finding another one, which is better than my current. Not only my mom, my sister and my dad, who seldom has put his input on my gal choices, speak out too. This brings the headache in me. All of them has the same opinion, that she is not suitable for me.

If you want me to list down what I am not satisfied with her, perhaps I would list down afew, but those items in the list can be considered minor problems. I do still love her. But if down to choices to choose her or against my family, I would not go against my parents for my future happiness. It is very saddening not to get blessings for your relationship; it makes me unable to commit fully anymore into this relationship. Each day, we are still communicating well, and I do not know how to bring this topic to her. Any suggestions on how I should start this discussion with her, stating my family are dissatisfied with her.

My mom is saying, If you feel that she is not the one for you, let her go earlier. Both of us are not young anymore. Let her go, so she can still find other guy whom love her. Drag this thing down, and both of you gonna suffer in the end. I personally feel that this is correct, provided I lose love towards her already.

Logically thinking, one should not compromise their love upon what other people think about them. But this is our parents, the one who bring us up and cherish us, love us more than anyone in this world. I am sure no parents would want to see their children suffer. It is their upbringing which made who I am today. I am working professionally, so they feel I would have no problem finding a better one, perhaps a more cheerful gal as they are not looking forward to see her dark emo face always.

So here I am, at the indecisive junction. Final say lies in my hand, but I would appreciate your 2cents matured opinion.

LAN connection help

my hse area recently have been struck with thunder, caused my modem to burnt. then i suspect my LAN card spoilt, so i go and bought a new LAN USB port. it can connect, which left me happy for half and hr only. then d desktop LAN icon stop blinking. and i unable to use the internet. is there any people having the same problem? there is no fault on the cable im using, bcoz i have tried the cable on my other friend's laptop and it seems fine.

please advise me as i need to use the net urgently.
