Maxis Wifi with Google Nest Wifi

hi all, i have tried multiple times without success on setting up google wifi with a Maxis connection.

i have keyed in the correct PPPoE username and password from my ISP, and it still says there's no internet.
apparently i read somewhere that Maxis requires VLAN Tagging and Google doesn't support that. is there a way for me to make this work?

Sonoff Switch for 20A water pump in attic

Hi sifus,

i need some help. i have a water pump in my attic.
my switch to turn on/off my water pump is located in one of the rooms.
recently, my pump has been triggering on and off by itself and upon further checking, there's probably a leak underground (verified by plumber).

so what we do now is, that we will keep the pump switched off, and only switch it on as and when needed.

i have been automating my house with google home and have quite a number of lights/appliances controlled by voice using Sonofff plugs/switches.

the switch is currently on a 1 gang 20A switch, so i bought a sonoff wireless 1gang switch. only when it has arrived, i realize that its' maximum current is 20A.

naturally, it's too dangerous for me to connect this switch panel to the 20A switch

so i found another one that is rated at 16A.

Will this work with my 20A switch? and how in the world do i even connect this to the switch?

How to get 5.1 or 7.1 sound on Laptop

Hi guys,

am looking for a 5.1 or 7.1 sound system for my laptop as i play CS GO a lot and want to be able to hear and differentiate footsteps that are coming from my back etc

but i don't know how or where to start

Q:
1) is it sufficient to just get a surround headphone set?
1a) what is a cheap surround headphone set that will do the job for me?

2) do i need to get an external sound card (usb?) to get that done?
2a) what is a cheap external sound card that will enable this?

Hi all,

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I have an induction clay pot that is used for making Bak Kut Teh etc. Recently dropped it and it cracked in half.

I did my research and looks like only epoxies can fix it for real - my problem is finding epoxies that are safe for cooking.

Ace hardware has lots of epoxies but I don't see one that is 'food safe'

Any sifus out there who can help? Where do I buy a food safe epoxy?

Need pump for water slide

hi guys,

i have a slide that i can attach a hose underneath it and water will flow continuously down the slide.
naturally, it's a waste of water if i leave the tap on all the time.

i'm looking for a pump that will be able to take water out of the pool itself and then push it towards the slide.
i would love if anyone has a solution that allows water to be siphoned upwards (the slide is higher than the water level of the pool, naturally)

where can i buy such a pump?

i'm looking to build/buy a dipping pool in my porch area for my kid and my wife and i.

Measurements : 10' by 4'

Current Options :

1) Getting a swimming pool contractor to build it for me

- i already got my first quotation for a fibre glass dipping pool. RM52k. i nearly died on the phone.

2) Buying a jacuzzi and installing it into the ground

- i have not researched on this just yet. is this possible?

3) building my own

- haha

i wonder if anyone has any experience doing this, and if so, can you please share your experience.

Mobile/Outdoor Water Pump

Hi all,

i live in Ken Rimba, Shah Alam. i have previously already bought a water pump and installed it next to my water tank in the attic, as such all my toilet water pressure is beautiful - perfect for rain system showers.

my next issue is that i would prefer if i have the same sort of water pressure coming from my direct taps/pipes.
My main purpose is to fill my kiddie splash pool (6' x 5') and adult pool (10' x 10') as well faster. Of course, with strong water pressure in my porch and backyard, i am able to also wash my car easily etc.

What do you guys think is the best solution? Should i just utilize those high pressure cleaners that can be easily purchased from any hardware store? or is there a sort of mobile high pressure water pump that i can just attach to whichever tap i need higher pressure to come from?

1) China Brand (New UNIFI) wireless access point
2) Unifi Residential gateway

Equipment that i need help with :

1) the older TM Wireless Access Point - D-LINK DIR-615 G2

My Scenario :

- my Unifi router is in my living room
- i have a cctv system that is tucked away in my store room
- i need the cctv system to be connected to the internet
- i have a spare DLINK DIR-615 G2 Wireless Access Point (WAP)
- i would like to convert the DLINK WAP into a repeater so that i am able to now connect the cctv system via LAN cable into the DLINK WAP and obtain internet connectivity.

i have tried googling but there are so many guides out there that i'm not sure which i should follow.

Advice on Curtains

hi guys,

i'm installing full length curtains in my new house.
the tops will be hidden by plaster, so you won't be able to see the tops (like hotels)

i am thinking of using IKEA's wall mounted railings so i can have those curtains that loop into the rail.
do you guys think this is advisable? or are ceiling mounted tracks better? (meaning i will need all my curtains to be pencil/french pleats)

Can't seem to fix Radiator Problem

hi all,

i'm quite fed up with the problem of the temperature rising.
i drive a 2001 CRV Auto

when idle (traffic lights etc), the temperature rises to the H point.
then when i move it goes back down.

ive sent to multiple mechanics and this is what they have done :

1) flush/service the radiator
2) replace thermostat
3) replace water pump

Fans are working, water is present (no leakage)

BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING AND I'M GETTING REALLY FRUSTRATED!
