Ownership of property vs a Will

If let's say my husband is buying a house, is it okay to just put the house under his name only, and have a Will with my name as the beneficiary?

I'm not sure if it's necessary to be putting both person's name in the house. But then again, my husband can always change the Will without me knowing it. So that is the dangerous part.
What if he decided to leave me someday & we have kids?

What do you think is the right thing to do here?
