[WTR] Pelangi Astana (Damansara) - Middle Room

Hi there! I have a middle room for rent at Pelangi Astana Condominium (next to Pelangi Damansara). Location is 5 minutes drive / 15 minutes walking distance from IKEA.

The whole unit is fully furnished and with the following facilities:

- Fridge
- Washing Machine
- Bathroom Water Heater
- Internet WiFi Connection
- Cooking Facilities
- Well maintained Gym and Pool
- Very good Security w/ pass card access

No TV unfortunately. Have never gotten around to getting one because I rarely watch but if you have, you're welcome to hook it up to the already existing HyppTV for ready to watch channels. You can do as much cooking as you want. I consider my kitchen to be fairly well equipped.

Your middle room is also fully furnished with the following:

- Single Bed Frame with a New Mattress
- Clothing Rack
- Clothing Cupboard
- Full Sized Mirror
- Table and Chair
- Air-Con
- Curtains

Ideally I am looking for a professional working female/male house mate who will be easy to live with. Someone who is open minded, mature, on time with bills and fairly clean would be perfect. Your privacy will be respected here. I am an easy going head tenant to deal with and as long as within reason, this is your place to call home and to do as you wish to keep yourself happy.

The rent is RM700 per month. This is inclusive of water/electric/air-con/cooking gas utility/Internet bills. The rent also covers common household necessities like trash bags, floor cleaning liquids, dish washing liquids, etc. You just have to pay the flat rate and not have to worry about dividing bills at the end of the month.

Payment term is 2 months deposit + 1 month advance rental. If you need a car park, let me know in advance so I can enquire for any available ones. Typically monthly car park rental should be around RM150.

Before purchasing an 3G/3GS/4 iPhone from any stores, please download the pdf file below "iPhone_Part_Model_Number.pdf" and refer to it as to where the origin of the iPhone is from. Some forumers here have been tricked by iPhone sellers stating that they sell unlock units (Singtel) but in return, they sold a LOCK iPhone 3G/3GS/4 units (US, UK etc) to them. Highly recommended that you print the pdf or kindly save it in your phone for reference.

[Discussion] How to Improve the iPhone Forums?

This thread is for all of us forumers to debate on existing misunderstandings on how the iPhone forum is being utilised. I feel that there is a big gap between the regulars/old timers here (the ones who log in nearly everyday/the ones who have been around for a long time) and those who come by once in a blue moon when there is a need. Both parties are unable to relate with each other's frustrations given the different experiences that we have in the iPhone forum.

Apart from settling our differences, it would very nice if you could also contribute constructive ideas on how to improve the usability of the forum. For example, I am in the process of revamping the old iPhone for Dummies pinned thread so maybe you could share with me on how the old guide worked or didn't work for you.

Please keep the discussion clean and please do not resort to personal attacks with references to what one forumer posted last week in a different sub forum or how a forumer is a MOD wannabe, how he did this before and etc. Thank you guys.

A: All firmwares are from Apple webserver and iTunes are using the same links to download the firmwares.

Q: How to update firmware after downloading from the Apple webserver links?

Windows: Launch iTunes, plug in your iPhone. Hold shift and click Restore for Windows users and select the firmware.

Mac: Launch iTunes, plug in your iPhone. Hold Alt/Option and click Restore for Mac users and select the firmware.

[Tutorial] How to View + Create Offline Maps

View maps offline on your iPhone

This 1st part of the tutorial is on how to view maps offline on your iPhone. That means without the use of Wi-Fi, 3G or EDGE. A subsequent tutorial on how to create your own cached maps is located after this post.

Some notes before getting started:

* You will need to jailbreak your phone in order to apply these methods as it involves a jb function.

* The map files provided in this tutorial will only work for FW2.2 but the method of application is the same for previous firmware.
* Offline routes is supported for FW2.2.

*The Klang Valley map will be used to illustrate this tutorial but you can also download other cached maps I have created at the bottom of this post.

OfflineMaps for FW2.2 & 2.2.1 Guide

Step 1:
Download+Install the "OfflineMaps" app which is now updated for FW2.2 & 2.2.1 from Cydia.

Step 2:
Download the cached map files for Klang Valley. Unzip that and you should get the folder (KV---KlangValley) with two files (com.apple.Maps & MapTiles.sqlitedb) inside. Now take note that you shouldn't try to rename any of the files or folders as this may cause errors later when loading the caches on your iPhone if you happen to pick a wrong name.

Step 3:
You will now have to copy the whole folder (KV---KlangValley) into your iPhone at /private/var/mobile/Media/Maps (Create the Maps folder if it's not available) directory via SSH or iPhone File Manager. Make sure it is the whole folder (KV---KlangValley) and not just the two files.

Step 4:
Once that's done, disconnect and load the OfflineMaps app on your iPhone. You should now be able to see "KV---KlangValley" under the maps list. You can also see WEM--West Malaysia here in my screen shot which is a separate cache maps loaded. That's just to show you can add more than one cached map at a single time to your iPhone.

Ok, go ahead and tap on "KV---KlangValley" and tap on Link:

Tap OK. This will bring you back to the list of maps.

After that, simply tap on iPhone Maps Application to access your newly loaded cached map.

*WestMalaysia & EastMalaysia maps have limited zoom levels but are detailed enough to see all main roads/highways. It'll be useful for an overview map when on road trips or when you just simply need the bigger picture. All other maps have zoom levels all the way down to 2x. I have chosen to omit the max zoom at 1x for size reasons but also because I have found the information displayed on both 2x and 1x zoom layers to be almost indistinguishable.

*When you start seeing empty boxes while scrolling or zooming (in/out) without Wi-fi/3G/EDGE connection, it means that those areas were not included in the map cache.
