ACC Season 1 wrapup

Woo, what a great season.

After about 5 months of intense matches, with 30 teams from Asia taking part in the Asian Call of Duty 4 Championships, with the finals being JEDI vs ESP from Malaysia.

It was a league format first, EPL style, with each team playing with 29 other teams from all over Asia ONCE, and getting points depending on the match. The top 8 of the end of the season were seeded directly into the ACC Finals, where they battled each other in Promod 3 mod, knockout mr12 format, best of 3 maps.

JEDI emerged top of the table, and were seeded into top spot, taking out first eG from Malaysia, Coop from Indonesia then finals with ESP from Malaysia.

The shoutcast of the match (like football commentary on the match) is available here: http://www.gamestah.com/file/view/2806
It's a demo file + a sound file, you have to play the sound file, wait for the commentator to say that he's starting to record, pause the sound, open up the demo file then start the sound file again.

Looking forward, it is my hope that more competitive players will emerge from Singapore/Malaysia to participate in our Asian community we have now. We're currently moving to the global competitive mod: Promod Live, which is available here: http://thecodalliance.com/dl/cod4mods/promodlive.rar

If anyone needs help getting set up etc, you can PM me here or xfire me, username: SnapperJR.
Don't worry if you've never played promod before, it's easy to pick up, there are lots of promod servers in Singapore/Malaysia so you can have good ping and good players to learn from by playing with and against them.

There is likely to be an ACC Season 2 of which promod live will be played on.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Fragnetics.com for officially sponsoring ACC Season One as well as for all their support, you guys rock!

Related link: http://www.pxgl.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1863

p.s. shoutout to the ESP boiz, you guys gave us a hell of a match man.

AoMW aka sR - caught and banned

Original link: http://pxgl.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1719

The current AoMW ACC team, which now consists of a break-away team called sR (the original AoMW's not from ACC as far as I know are inactive) have been caught hacking. After some suspicion, they were caught hacking against CERT in a ACC match.

While it could not be confirmed that ALL members in the ACC team were hacking (confirmed: Whiskaz, suspected but not fully-proved: Liquid, ManZ) they were caught on the server chatlogs discussing in the game on team-say, discussing then agreeing to turn on their hacks, and a member was later caught on demo wallhacking.

Thus, as they AS A TEAM decided to turn on their hacks, they are all implicit in the manner and shall all be punished the same way.

After ACC admins reviewed all the evidence, it has been decided that the AoMW ACC team shall be removed with immediate effect and the team AoMW or sR and all the current members are banned indefinitely from the ACC.

Furthermore, they are to be banned on ALL official ACC servers, and other server owners are encouraged to ban the scourge that they are as well.

We must act strongly and decisively to deter these vermin from infesting our community, their details are below for banning and to shame them:

Leader:
"AoMW.SAF|Liquid" aka sR.Liquid 118.101.121.65 85b02a64cdf99e39c5dc5212b0febaff

"AoMW - Whiskas" 115.134.216.7 cae705a9ee1bd1efab88f239da990bf1

"AoMW.SAF|ManZ" 124.82.125.255 f4a24b1b9fdf3778bbca2629114acfab

"AoMW.SAF|EvoX" 60.48.56.169 3ff696690486a51b21baeb79d2ef421c

"AoMW.SAF|Apollo" 60.52.32.97 44bd986df2acb1a4ae36eb56ad02a1fb

"AoMW.SAF|Gez<3" 115.132.68.72:28960 fd4e30865785ce813d9fc23a23823114

ACC finals

Original post: http://pxgl.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1667

Ladies and Gentlemen,

First of all take note: ACC is not over this week, I believe the league itself finishes either next week or the week after, while this week is a "catch-up" week.

In this week of "catch-up" matches (also play your postponed matches!), where we begin wrapping up ACC league season 1, I would like to announce what I've been planning for awhile, and of which I've dropped a few hints to for awhile.

We are called the Asian CoD4 Championships for a reason, there must be an ultimate winner, the strongest team for season 1, that would have to prove itself over a distance, as well in tournament-style format.

Therefore, I hereby announce the ACC Season One Finals, which begin June 1st 2009, to determine the winner of ACC season 1.

The finals format will be as such, the Top 8 of the ACC table (the points table) will be drawn into a single-elimination format. To make the position and points accumulated thus far mean something, and to be fair to all, the points will represent where a team is drawn for the finals e.g. 1st on the board will fight 8th on the board, 2nd on the board will fight 7th on the board and so on.

There will be one match played per week, and ALL other ACC rules, procedure and protocol apply to the ACC finals, of which there will be 3 weeks of single-elimination, and at the 3rd week, the ACC grand finals will be held to determine the ACC season one winner and runner-ups (2nd to 4th).

Please note that the 1st-8th position refer to the final position on the ACC season 1 points table.

Here's a simple explanation of the ACC finals:

Week 1 ACC Quarter-finals

[*]1st vs 8th - Winner Team A
[*]2nd vs 7th - Winner Team B
[*]3rd vs 6th - Winner Team C
[*]4th vs 5th - Winner Team D

Week 2 ACC semi-finals

[*]Team A vs Team D - Winner Team 1 + Runner-up Team 1
[*]Team B vs Team C - Winner Team 2 + Runner-up Team 2

Week 3 ACC Grand finals

[*]Runner-up Team 1 vs Runner-up Team 2 - ACC 3rd placing + ACC 4th placing

and of course, the GRRRAAAAAAAND finals:

[*]Winner Team 1 vs Winner Team 2 will result in the Asian CoD4 Championships Season One Champion emerging.

To clarify, that means 3 weeks of ACC finals, each match shall be played according to the ACC rules, procedure and protocol, i.e. each match shall be arranged during the week, and played according to ACC rules.

The only change is that, as there needs to be a winner every match, if by the 3rd map there is still a draw, it will be a re-knife on the 3rd map, winner picks 4th map, loser picks side. Rinse and repeat if there continues to be a draw until a winner results.

Enjoy, and may the best team win.

<3,
from your overworked ACC Admins.

So first, of all, the organizers of ACC would like to announce that the Asian CoD4 Championships will be open for registration on January 7th 2009 and will close January 26th 2009, and matches will commence hopefully as planned, on February 2nd 2009. I also realize that the Maestrogamer forums are currently down, so we're working on an alternative which will be announced soon.

EDIT=> our new forums: http://www.pxgl.org/forums/
we ask teams start registering on pxgl main website and the forums, as we'll be using both for the tournament.
many thanks to EroSennin for setting it all up.

Now on to the bigger news:

We at the Asian CoD4 Championships (ACC) proudly welcome Fragnetics LLP (http://v2.fragnetics.com/) as a sponsor of the ACC.

QUOTE("About Fragnetics")

Fragnetics (http://v2.fragnetics.com/) is a leading Singapore game server provider that offers web hosting and web application development services.

Over the years we have grown an enthusiastic community by hosting PC games such as Counterstrike, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and PlaneShift.
Discussion result: Asian CoD4 Championship

The below was all decided in the joint community meeting held, clans/teams in attendance:
JEDI
Ux2
CEBU
FsN
XEF
RvG
SwL
FFF
eG
RnF
S!GA
-aa-
Gr4\/
Bf.Nut

The Asian CoD4 Championship will be run as follows, scheduled to start February 2nd 2009 and WILL BE OPEN FOR SIGNUP SOON:

League Mode

This will be a league, sort of like English Premier League. A team will play with EVERY single other team in the league ONCE.

One match per week, each Sunday/monday the admin will announce the fixtures for the week, and teams will have 1 week to arrange their matches and play it.

Each match win shall be 2 points, a draw, 1 point, and a loss, 0 points. The one with the most points after the league is over (i.e. when everyone has played everyone else), will be declared the winner.

We will use MAESTROGAMER forum (http://www.maestrogamer.com/forum) as our forum, and PXGL website with its ladder software (http://pxgl.org/), as our website to contain our LEAGUE, e.g. display fixtures for the week, and keep track of past results as well as whole league.

Ruleset

1)Promod final release, mr12 ruleset (i.e. 24 rounds, 12 rounds on attack, then 12 rounds of defense, first to win 13 rounds win)
2)No OVERTIME/knockout mode, i.e. no mr3 if a mr12 map gets tied at 12-12 to allow for drawn matches
3)Best of 3 maps, all 3 maps MUST be played to decide a winner UNLESS a team wins first two maps
4)Maps:
[*]Strike
[*]Backlot
[*]Crash
[*]District
[*]Crossfire
[*]Vacant

Miscellaneous Rules (not comprehensive yet)

1) Server to be chosen for match, shall, be the BEST possible for BOTH side. i.e. hopefully a neutral server where each side gets similar pings, failing that, the best server for both sides possible from the available servers

2) Knife round on CRASH, no climbing ladders/glitches, winner of knife chooses 1st map, loser of knife picks side of 1st map, then picks the 2nd map, and winner picks 2nd side.

3) For 3rd map, knife will be conducted on 2nd map, winner of knife picks 3rd map, loser of knife picks side

4) EVERY map the end MUST be screenshotted, it MUST show the players score (i.e. players name, score, as well as the ROUND-score), it is highly recommended to record a demo as well, in case of any disputes.

5) Screenshots must be submitted in fixtures threads AS WELL as e-mailed to the admin (iberto1992@gmail.com), in format: "Team A vs Team B (Winning team name): Week XX" (as in week 1 or 2 or 10 of league, since its one match a week)

6) If GameStah do decide to shoutcast matches (in discussion), teams will be punished for not being punctual for matches. Matches once agreed date/time must be posted to book server, as well as inform gamestah of matches. Matches may not be cancelled/postponed in the last 4 hours before match starts.

Final ruleset + rule post will soon follow, as well as how to signup. Server list as well as contact list of team leaders will be made available.

Players are encouraged to familiarize themselves with www.pxgl.org

Original thread: http://www.maestrogamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=191

Keep in mind also the above teams, quite a few will send more than 1 team. So we're reaching the point, but we STILL need the support of others, talk to your clan leader, discuss it and join and support.

And as such, a Community meeting will be held to discuss the following:

1) Mod to be used
2) Ruleset (e.g. mr12 or ....)
3) Tournament, ladder or league?
4) Structure of the tournament (Round-robin format in group stage then single eliminations or ....)
5) Rules/Regulations (stuff like how to arrange a match, how to decide map/side)
6) Getting support for our ladder/league, perhaps getting sponsors for prizes etc, and how to get more teams to join
7) Others

Community Meeting

Meeting WILL be held on IRC, so that we can have live chat, and discuss/debate.

IRC Server: Galaxynet
IRC Channel: #callofduty
Date: Saturday, 13th December
Time: 9pm

Please post if you are coming for the meeting, if you can't make it, get someone else from your team/clan to join in. ALL are invited to share their opinions, from individuals to members of team/clans to the leaders.

How to get on IRC. Two choices, use a web-client, or download the IRC client.

How to use IRC:

We recommend either using a IRC web-browser or using the mIRC client.

IRC web-browser

Go to url: http://www.mibbit.com/
Under Connect to IRC, scroll down and select Other Server and type in either "singapore.sg.galaxynet.org" or "lostworld.us.galaxynet.org" without the quotes. Both work.

Specify your nickname and on channels type in "#callofduty" without the quotes.

mIRC

Download and install the safe most-used IRC client at http://www.mirc.com/get.html

Type in the details such as nickname, name, email (note: they don't have to be real) and press okay. In the status window type:

/server singapore.sg.galaxynet.org -j #callofduty OR
/server lostworld.us.galaxynet.org -j #callofduty

Please post if you are coming for the meeting, if you can't make it, get someone else from your team/clan to join in. ALL are invited to share their opinions, from individuals to members of team/clans to the leaders.

original thread: http://www.maestrogamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=188

[addedon]December 8, 2008, 3:46 pm[/addedon]apparently SRC estimated to finish @ 8pm, so should be okay. Can attend meeting @ SRC with IRC or go home, and be a bit late for the meeting.

Hope you guys can attend, thanks.

Community setup, Asian CoD4 Championships

http://www.maestrogamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=187

Alright, we already got our website to host on http://www.pxgl.org, and gaming ladder software as well as web-admin Ero from CEBU and organizer admin DA from JEDI.

We're not sure yet what tournament/ladder structure we're going to use, prize money if any sponsors etc, what mod and what rules etcetera, but we'll have a COMMUNITY meeting to discuss this when we're that far on.

The biggest problem first is, we need servers. JEDI and CEBU have offered their server for use, but we need a much bigger pool of servers to play on, so that they don't get overused, as well as offering both teams in the match a choice of locationed servers, so that both teams can get as balanced ping possible.

Secondly, we need people/clans/teams to declare their interest so that we can get a critical mass to start up this ladder/tournament of ours.

So, if you have a server, please offer it for use, likelihood is that it'll only have to be used once or twice a day, so don't worry you'll still have use of your server for training/mix scrims/pub play on.

If you don't have a server, then just post in this thread if you/your clan/your team is interested to join.

[JEDI] aBc`

[addedon]December 7, 2008, 3:40 pm[/addedon]Sigh, not even 1 post.

Anyway, we have JEDI, CEBU, <3M, SwL.RvG, FT5 support now, like I stated before we have not even discussed the mod etc or the details, but first we need 2 things first, people to declare their interest (i.e. willing to join the tournament ladder) and online servers to be offered for use for the tournament.

This tournament or ladder will be online-based, and matches will be probably be played weekly, over a couple of months, so as long as your team can play online once a week, you can prolly join.

I also need individuals who are willing to help with the administrative stuff, we've got DA to do organizer admin, and EroSennin from CEBU to be our web-admin, but we need more community help, i.e. people to do PR, help DA out with organizing, be the online marshals for example and other stuff obviously.
