hello sifus,

i have this problem with my current employer.

last year, they bought me out from another company with x amount, then they put that x amount in my payslip without informing me or asking me. when i complain, the payroll dept assure me its non taxable.

come last week, they send me the ea form for 2014 and that x amount is in my gross earnings for 2014.

i complain and they insist that it must be in my ea form and they will reimburse me for whatever extra tax i need to pay back.

the question is, can they do this? and should i do this? i certainly did not earn that x amount. i pay it to my former employer.

if this is a wrongdoing, like evasion or fraud or something. please advise? also please help me with some specifics like which penal code or something.
