Iphone Victim @ RM250 bill shock from Maxis

i am guessing MCMC must be getting the RM250 Bill shock charges split from Maxis,

When Malaysia promote cheaper internet by the gov, the maxis charge set a trap for the internet user like us.
over the internet usage will allow them to charge additional RM250, just like giving them our bank acc to let them rob us.
i believe every month at-least a few K smartphone maxis user hit by this charges
i also believe at-least a dozen brother complain to MCMC
i also believe Maxis already told MCMC they will try to do something about it with they business team
(at-least 1 year they keep saying this)

when they business team saw the benefit on delay implement this is a huge profit, they will do anything to progress it will 24 month delay.

Simple calculation, if 1K people over the internet allocate limit that mean RM250 x 1K = RM250,000
Simple calculation, if 5K people over the internet allocate limit that mean RM250 x 5K = RM1.25million
On earth which business man will give up the RM1.25 million profit
assume we got 50K iphone/smartphone user, 10% people over the allocate limit is just normal

i on Maxis for almost a year, i get 3 times bill shock already. i not sure how many brother have this problem
if we push MCMC to publish the bill shock victim figure to public, i think the figure in $$$ will be over RM10million/year

did McDonald provide free hot water in Malaysia

u subscribe to 500mb/pass, but no idea how to check it, when use over the charges is crazy like rm249
and maxis like to trap u on this. i hope it can stop my internet access after 500mb rather then charge u like crazy

i got a maxis iphone with me, and due to some reason, maxis cut my service due to late payment, (maxis damn stupid, cut the line just few day overdue)
i planning to throw my digi postpaid line for one day surfing over the iphone.
i know digi always promote the RM5 per day internet surfing, however to double confirm this also apply for postpaid user i call digi helpline

In the middle that operator keep telling me digi gprs is charge 10sen per 10kb.
i ask very specific question, i want to know the daily maximum charges for my postpaid internet surfing, then the operator told me is RM149, which he do double confirm when he check with supervisor.

my conclusion is Digi really far behind broadband service package. i know the RM5 is good, but too bad is only for prepaid user.
also my experience with the 10sen/10kb expansive issue. so when choice for broadband for casual please dont use digi postpaid

We are doing environment logistic research and also emergency Alarm system, for the data layer we using GSM to communicate with Control center.

The device we deploy will send back some data to our data collection center, in 1 hour frequency.
what we send is a "post html packet" which contain 1.6Kbytes of data.
to summarize 1.6Kbytes x 24 hour x 30 days = 1.6Kbytes x 720 times of data transmission.
It is around then 2Mbytes a month.
As this kind of data transmission is low we think that using prepaid might me more cost efficient in longer term.
I try to dry run the system on two network for 1 day and found that Digi charges is crazy expansive compare to maxis
After some excel calculation, to our case this is what we found.

In every transaction Digi charge us 10-30 Cents, Is Random which i not sure what is happen.
In every transaction Maxis charge us 2-6 Cents, Is Random but since is a few cents different i dont care.

after a 1 day run this is what will cost us in one month
Maxis is RM26
Digi is RM144

After i get this result, i try to confirm with telco on those charges.

It seem digi answer it all.

Digi GPRS seem match the Maxis in per kb/cents, however that is advertising trick.
Digi charge all the transaction in 10cents bases, which mean if you use 1Kbps it charge u 10cent
Maxis charge all transaction in 1cent bases, which mean if you use 1kbps it only deduct you 1 cent
I like Digi RM5/day charge, but for my case, Digi just dont work.

For this case i think for ultra low usage user, Maxis is the only way we go.

Hope this help other user to understand by Digi prepare bill is out of money very fast.

Streamyx Packet loss issue

this issue made me crazy, it happen before. made complain to 1300889515
few hour later is working again,
Have slow connection, so i try ping test to few location, there are packet loss and long ping reply,

suspect something wrong from DSLAM to gateway. because i ping the gateway also facing long delay.
any idea how to made complain to let them know this problem might keep happen on and off

HSDPA Iphone Speed test result

Iphone 3G 16G unlock version from Italy
Location: Kajang/Cyberjaya
Speed: always around 1-80kbps,sometimes (very rare and short period) go up to 800kbps

just subscript to Celcom 3G 98package,
i use wget to retrieve files from local website,
found that the data service from celcom not really good.

Anyone have a better result ?

Iphone HSDPA in CELCOM/MAXIS

Anyone are using iphone manage to get speed above 100kbps download speed?
i just enable the celcom HSDPA 98/month service, but found that the speed is slow till not acceptable.
just wonder whats wrong, is that celcom have some issue on iphone compatible problem or ?

my maximum speed is around 25KBPS try this at cyberjaya and kajang area which both on celcom hsdpa coverage
just wonder what is wrong?

After several asking about the HT setup
i will finalize the setting. but equipment still need suggestion

Since my mom want karaoke Function, i going to let her do that via a Karaoke Mixer (Pioneer MX9)

Mic/Wireless Mic->Mic Mixer
DVD -> Mic Mixer -> TV

TV->Amp
DVD->Amp

I will throw around 3K to Amp+Speaker
At first thinking wireless, however due to several issue i will go with wire

HTiB is more simple then for pick front/rear,center,amp
So will go with YAMAHA HTiB

YAMAHA HTiB DVXS302
or
YAMAHA 4*NS125F+RXV363+YSTFSW100+NSC225 ( i need pricing on this or get better suggestion)
or
......Suggest ?

my company arrange an oversea trip that might out of a country for several month, so i want this urgent.

Jukebox for Karaoke legal ?

Maybe cant include as Audiophile Section, but these baby still play audio, and the possible to let u use it as a Jukebox for MTV /Movie....

these few day i do heave research on the Karaoke System and discover something call Karaoke Juke box are now very 'popular' which have 10K++ Song
However i believe when we get that machine those content is not proper copyrighted.

But anyway Anyone have A good recommend on this kind of new toy ? (if got network ready event better)

Err, i am not comparing with those Network Ready media player, due to these kind of player is more sorted to entertain Song Singing and picking system which Network Media player dont have(especially they came with 'content')

Since i cant really get something on the market at this point, i thinking to made some invention,

At first, i think the TV is fine speaker already.
So i will do something like below

DVD->Pioneer MX/MA->TV as a Karaoke function. (this will be good if we got Karaoke Jukebox)
DVD Pioneer DV595KS->TV (pioneer got hard key on key control which is require)

Since my parent not really know much on the system, they usually need a Machine and able to sing, and TV Sound output not that worse as we think.
And i will Add another Set of HT for amplify the sound, which take output from TV
TV->AMP.

AMP Mix with tallboy speaker.
At first thinking about Wireless, but discuss with my bro. thinking to get a all front system.
So Might get (we can spend around 2-5K for HT)
YAMAHA HTiB from HSL, CinemaStation > DVX-S302 ~~1.8K
YAMAHA NS125F+RXV363+Center speaker+.... (no idea how to mix) might cut the YAMAHA HTiB speaker and join with a good RXV363 Amp.

My current setup is 22' Dell + 17"dell connect to the Computer.
now my altec broken already (same problem with my HT Amp at living room, 24 Open for few years, anyone know how to repair or place to throw ?)

Thinking to change the setting a bit
maybe will get a HTiB
since my room have around 200sqFeet(160 usable)
Might get Sony DAV 275, and later if got $$ add a 24' dell monitor(for HDMI from DAV275)

Anyone have better idea for the setup ?
my budget is around 1K + 1K

PS:i currently replace the broken Altec with Dell soundbar(came with 17') sound is crab,
just found a Sonic Gear which is free from magazine subscript, Sound is great

Onkyo TX-SR304 receiver or similar budget recv?

Big vs Small Speaker in HT with karaoke

My new home is ready, and a lot equipment, my mom start to install.
but one problem is the sound system which i need to in control to avoid her spoil the nice living room.
Just half years ago, she get her a set of karaoke set for her room, which waste a lot space(those big speaker box dynamax system)

and yesterday when we in the electric store, we saw a nice a slim Philips HTS3548W
and she keep on saying hmm, small speaker maybe not really great.
and the saler bring her to upstair to demo the big speaker system.
lucky my aunt call her to bring the kids back home if not the new home have those big and stupid speaker standing around.

My shopping list currently looking for wireless rear.

Maybe get one a Karaoke Mixer for her. but no idea which brand and where to get, electronic store normally dont carry this.
