Guys, I got a Marantz pm-66SE KI edition. Recently the sound disappeared from the left channel.

However, when i turn the volume knob close to half way(12 o'clock), the sound will come back on from the left channel, meaning both channel also got sound. When I lowered it down again, the sound from left channel will disappear after a few seconds.

Any idea what went wrong with my amplifier? Can anyone suggest a place that can fix this, and how much is the estimated cost.

Thanks

Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 Satellite Speaker + int amp

Hi Guys,

I've got an old Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 system which I hardly use for the past 2 years. When i recently have a look at it again, the subwoofer cone already started to crack and pieces of it are falling down bit by bit.

When i was using it last time, I remember bass was only coming out from the subwoofer. So I was wondering if I can plug the satellites speakers into an integrated amp like NAD, Marantz, etc...

Thanks for any input.

Hi guys,

I need abit of understanding regarding how voltage affects a device.

I have a digital camera which requires 6V to operate, so when using 4 alkaline battery (1.5V), its fine.

However, those rechargeable ni-mh battery are only rated at 1.2V, so if i were to put 4 into my digicam, it will only supply 4.8V.

Can any sifu please let me know what will happen in this kind of situation?

Thank you.

Convergence problem in my Sony 34 inch Wega

Hi guys,

My CRT is having a problem as shown in the attachment.

I called up the Sony Service Center, and the guy who came here, when he saw this, straight away he said cannot be fixed(then pocket RM20 from it).

However, when i asked some friends around me, they said its not a big problem and you can find a technician in electric shop to fix it. Its the convergence problem where only some fine tuning would fix it.

Anyone has a clue if this TV can still be fixed?

Don't wanna give up this TV yet as it is still the best for watching Astro.

[addedon]January 31, 2010, 4:44 pm[/addedon]Oh, by the way, as you can see from the picture, the further the image or text is away from the center, the more obvious ghosting appears.

Samsung LCDs that supports USB 2.0 Movie

Guys,

I'm a bit confused on the Samsung lcds which supports movie playback.

* The 2009 Samsung LCD and Plasma 650 and above, and the LED 7000 and above models support Medi@2.0.*

To my knowledge, 2009 models are those that starts with a 'B' instead of 'A'

Series 6
- 46 inch (LA46B650T1R) = Yes?
- 46 inch (LA40A650) = No?

Does that apply to all models that has got a 'B'?

Thanks for clarifying.

Questions on Warranty with LCD/LED/Plasma Tvs

Hi guys,

Just wanted to know how does the warranty works with buying these TVs

After we bought one, and when problem arise, do we contact with who we bought the thing from(retail shops, dealers) or do we have to contact the customer services from the respective manufacturers?

The reason I'm asking this is I found that many sellers is the forum offered very competitive price compared to retailers outside but they stated that warranty is provider by manufacturer. And when we have to deal with manufacturers, do they come to fix it or we have to bring the item to their respective service centers(not something that i prefer to do).

Thanks for the input in advance.

ATI or Nvidia card for WOTLK

Hi guys,

I'm planning to upgrade my current graphics card (ATI HD3200 built-in).

I'm considering which card would be better for playing World of Warcraft.

I'm playing it on a 17 inch monitor at 1280x1024 resolution.

Can anyone recommend the best card that cost the least running at the above resolution with maximum settings?

Also i found some graphic issues, which i'm not sure if it relates to other ATI graphics card.

my ATI HD3200 doesnt render the sample picture(see attachment) that I captured at the front of Millitary Ward in Ironforge. The hot coals looks flat. However i remember when i use my old Nvidia 7300GT(burned), the hot coals looks alot more detailed with depth.

Can anyone verify if this is an issue with ATI cards. If thats the case, I might stick to an Nvidia card.

Thanks in advance
