Planning to get a desktop in 2 weeks time. Current budget is actually between 4k - 4.3k for just the desktop alone. Purpose of desktop is for gaming.

Current Specs that I am looking at:

Hi guys,

I want to get a gaming rig but with the impending release of Ivy Bridge in April, the new GTX 6XX series or HD 7xxx series releasing soon and the high HDD prices at the moment, is it alright to get a gaming rig now or just wait a little longer. I understand that for technologies, theres no point waiting as theres always going to be new things coming out, but I just want to know you guys' honest opinion about this.

Hi guys,

I am really puzzled with my current downloading speed for torrent files. I am on a 2 Mbps streamyx package. Normally my download speed for torrents are around 170 kb/s. However, recently I have no idea why my dl speed has dropped dramatically. My current dl speed is only around 15kb/s average. I tried everything. Port forwarding is done. Went online to check that my port is open. Utorrent also indicates that my port is open. I even tried Vuze, everything seems fine. Added exception to windows firewall and my kaspersky as well. Even try disabling both but still cant solve the problem.
Direct download speed is normal, I am getting around 170 kb/s. But only having problems with torrents. Can anyone explain to me why this is happening? Perhaps TM has finally throttled me?

Hi there,
I am currently having this problem with my connection. I am on the basic 1M package, and my internet is ridiculously slow. Surfing the net is quite slow but worst is when downloading torrents. My download speed is on average less than 10 Kb/s. Thats ridiculous. However, the biggest problem is that when i use TM Net Speedometer to test my speed, and guess what, it clocks in at 15++ Kb/s or some times even at 17++ Kb/s, this is really ridiculous and impossible since i am on the 1M package. At first i thought, maybe the Tmnet speedometer is lying, so i used other speed test like speedtest.net and it all show the same result. about 1700 Kb/s and yet the damn internet connection is damn slow. I can hardly even play games online through the PS3. Anyone has any ideas regarding whats wrong?
