Just need help because I am quite pressed for time to go each and every shop in sunway to ask for AN fittings/connectors that are not the typical red/blue.

Does anyone here know which shop(s) that carry the black ones?

Wondering if there are any graduates from this insitute, specifically in EE

Hope anyone that has info or attend this college recently can give feedback since its a relatively old establishment.

How are the facilities? Is the lab well equipped?
Are the lectures easy to understand?

Not for myself but for a friend's son who finishes SPM last year.

it seems they specialize in EE, so logically it would be impossible for them to screw up in the single thing they specialize on, but who knows?

It's pretty strange that there aren't much info about this college in terms of feedback from its students.

AES: Why the implementation is flawed.

Dunno if this qualifies for RWI, but I'll post it here for the sake of information

For one thing to be made clear, I do not oppose traffic light AES as these kinds of infractions are consciously done, at the risk of the vehicle owner, but for speed traps, where sudden changes in speed limit can cause vehicle owners to be caught unawares, I oppose the use of AES that implements speed limits at all times including midnight and 1-3am where traffic is light and almost non existent in some cases, and with some AES locations being placed directly after a downhill stretch where speeds are naturally high even while vehicles are coasting.

This study is conducted by MIROS, and as you can see, our high accident rate is not attributable to cars, lorries, trucks and vans en masse.

In figure 1, our accident rate has primary increased over the years, but notice the trend.
Motorcyclists primarily contribute to this, from 1990 to year 2010, as the rate has doubled, while for other road users, this includes commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles, the number has increased only in the order of 500+/- cases within the same timespan. Be reminded that this statistic is motorcycles versus all other vehicles
[attachmentid=3133665]

Vehicle ownership however, has increase more than three-fold from 1995 to 2010, from 6million to 20million registered vehicles. As can be seen from the chart above, motorcyclists have been the primary cause of our high accident rates in Malaysia. Why are four wheeled or more vehicle owners being penalized for accidents attributable to motorcyclists, and not at the source?
[attachmentid=3133672]

Naturally, some may come to the conclusion that these accidents by motorcycles happened in the highways, and thus speeds should be regulated in the highways. The strange thing is, MIROS did this study and have noticed that the accidents do not in fact, primarily happen on the highway, but outside of the highways. The summary is highlighted. Residential and Industrial areas. Guess who are 'rempit'ing at these areas and riding recklessly?
[attachmentid=3133679]

So, I challenge the pro-AES supporters to counter this survey with more data, as I may have overlooked some statistics that prove that AES speed trap systems should be implemented at all hours, and along highways as part of an accident prevention programme.

Sources.
http://www.miros.gov.my/web/guest/road

inB4 KEYBOARD WARRIORS UNITE!

I somehow get the feeling our powers that be don't really read surveys nor comprehend them.

[addedon]November 2, 2012, 12:02 pm[/addedon]So many view and zero comments?
Requesting CCTV footage

Has anyone requested CCTV footage from police or a petrol station in the event of a robbery or any other crime?

One of my close family members had such an experience.

Why am I doing this? Hypothetically speaking of course,
Due to our relatively inept police force, I'm going to request the video, get the plate numbers of the culprits, bait them and dispense some personal vigilante justice.

Of course, in Malaysia, that's illegal, but like I said, it was 'purely' hypothetical, and I'm really requesting the video just to see how the crime happened.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

[WTA] Resolving TMnet debt.

I'm wondering if anyone has resolved their debt with TM amicably.

I have a problem where I'm billed for over a year of non-usage, as I was not living at the said address at the time, and termination came a little late.
Currently, their reasoning for not terminating the service earlier, is that I have not completed their 2 year contract. However, I'm very sure the two year contract is up, as the internet was installed sometime in the mid 2005.

I would like to resolve this matter amicably, but contacting the local TM office has been a nightmare, with them adamantly wanting to collect the full payment without any possible amicable solution.
It's not that I can't afford to pay, but it's more that I'm unwilling to pay unless TMnet offers me a better way to resolve this matter, as I did not use streamyx during the said period.

If there is anyone working with TM/or has had experiences dealing with TM, I hope that you can help guide me to resolve this matter.

Pressure washer - Owner's thoughts.

Ok, I find it unbelievable that pressure washers don't get reviewed, and it's near impossible to find owner review of them, either locally or internationally.
One worry I have is the seals failing, which happened to my old Black and Decker one, which only lasted a year plus, pump seal failed when I was spraying underbody of my car. Works, but pressure so low it's not useful anymore.

So now I'm looking for replacement. Primary uses is removing paint from my mom's old house and repainting it every CNY (it's her particular quirk I put up with) so higher pressure is better
So the usage is limited to a few times a year.
So far, I shopped around, and shortlisted the below models. Mainly due to price, abt RM500 or so. 1K is a bit expensive, since that can probably get commercial/industrial-class pressure washers.

Not listing the water flow, since they all claim similar numbers from 340lph to 390lph. I use 'accessories' to refer to their nozzle options.

Jetmaster
JM7.130V - 140Bar pressure
Accesorries package quite plentiful.
Most powerful, but quite low pricetag.. My first choice, if anyone in LYN owns this for a year, and it hasn't broken yet. < DOES ANYONE OWN THIS?
claimed to be made in italy, but very strange that Jetmaster brand website not available in italian... (O_O)

Ryobi
AJP-1600 - 110Bar pressure -
Well known brand, no further clue.

Karcher
K2.360 - 120Bar
Lots of accessories, heard it's prone to seal failure, but only at the inlet and outlet part, not pump, and those kinds of seals are easily replaceable, so not an issue. But appreciate if you have experience owning/using it.

Mr. Marks
MK HU3011 & MK HU1613 (110Bar and 130Bar respectively)
First time hearing about this brand.

Bosch
Aquatek ECO - 100Bar
Lowest output, I don't worry about quality with this one, but accesories given very limited.
Aquatek 1200 Plus
120 Bar.. also accessories limited

So, if you own one, please let me know what you think of it, and if you have the opportunity to have tried more than one (by borrowing from friends, family, neighbour, etc) I would really appreciate your input.

[addedon]April 17, 2011, 6:55 pm[/addedon]Wow.. no one uses pressure washers in Lowyat.net?

RWI: Criteria for threads approval.

I just submitted a topic for approval. I think it's not going to be approved because:

A) My topic is not general. It pinpoints certain aspects of an issue.

i) Rempit, an economic or social problem? which would imply limiting arguments to anything within the context of mat rempit from the economy and social aspects and discouraging "I HATE MAT REMPIT, THEY SHOULD ALL DIE IMMEDIATELY NOW PLOX!" as valid arguments.

as opposed to:

ii) Rempit, everything about them, so feel free to post any sort of RANDOM COMMENT/STUFF about mat rempits.

B) Must be general, and full of spelling and grammar errors.

exempli gratia (e.g.)
Most of the students watched pronography nowadays
Are they correct by doing that?

WTF?

Most of the students? Isn't it "Most students"?
Pronography? What's that? new field of study of "prono"?
Are they correct by doing that? > Wow, Is it appropriate for students to do that?

C) Must know the mods personally?

D) Contain words that mods may not have understood.

Strict moderation my left foot! Thread starters with rampant spelling errors and over-generalizing topics are approved, but specific issues are not? RWI is not even heavily populated!

I see banhammer coming, but honestly, I don't care.
HTPC Software

I'm wondering if anyone actually uses the Media Center from Vista for their HTPC, because frankly, I didn't like it because it doesn't support seeks for some video formats like mkv, etc. etc.

Currently contemplating on using Media Portal, from here,
http://www.team-mediaportal.com

but I was more hoping of a mainstream software with plug-ins or addons unlike that of the Windows Media Center.

Can anyone suggest anything else?
