A small survey regarding the use of Siri

Just wondering, as of today (04/09/2012), for those who own an iPhone 4s or the new iPad, still using Siri in your daily life?

Obviously this poll is open for owner of iPhone 4S or the new iPad. If you don't own an iDevice with Siri, please don't vote...

If you vote for "Yes", you can leave a comment about how Siri assisted you in your everyday life

New iOS 5 Bug

Not a serious one, just sharing

In iOS 5 we are able to access camera directly from the lockscreen by double-pressing the home button.
However in this mode we are not able to view our photo album.
And this bug is to allow us to view our photo album without unlocking the device.

First go and change your device date to older one, for example change the year to 2011.
Then go back to lockscreen and access the camera, now you're able to view all your photo in camera roll which were taken AFTER the date of your device.

The trick here is that in lockscreen camera mode, we are able to view all photo that having date info later than the device time.

Source: http://www.weiphone.com/apple/news/2012-01...um_405841.shtml

Of course this is just a security bug which does not really causing any threats, because the iOS would not changing date/time to older time by itself

iOS 5 Native Photo Editing

Glad that iOS 5 integrates photo editing features into stock Photos.app.
But after edit photo and save then transfer to PC, the transferred photo is the original photo instead of the edited one.
So what's the point of the native photo editing feature? For display in iDevice only?
Any workaround on this?

Need recommendation on a PC set

Hi guys, would like to help a friend build a PC with: Rig, Monitor, Keyboard & Mouse.

Would prefer i5 processor, and a 19" monitor would be enough. No speaker needed.
Budget: RM2,000
Also prefer to be able to get all parts in the same shop, so can ask the shop to assembly all parts and also would be easier to get discount (I guess? )

Main purpose: Online surfing, Facebook gaming, some office work, and some minor gaming (not hardcore and high-end gamer).

So, any recommendations/suggestions?

[Solved] Need some help on PSU

Hi guys, I need some suggestion from you guys
Just bought a machine with:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
ASUS M4A77TD Motherboard
Sapphire Radeon HD 6850
1TB Western Digital HDD
Kingston DDR3 4GB

It comes with a PSU with 390W (Gigabyte PoweRock 390W) which I think is not really enough for it? Please advice me what kind of PSU should I choose for it's stability or reduce the risk of damaging hardware (?)
Ok so do I need to change the PSU? And which PSU would you suggest me to go for? (Please my budget is 200~400, of course the cheaper the better, no money liaw )

And one more thing, when the system start the fan noise is very loud, even louder when opening games (sounds like someone using a vacuum cleaner in house).
The temperature of the system is around:
CPU 40~45 C° (idle~normal use) 50~55 C° (gaming)
GC 50~55 C° (idle~normal use) 60~65 C° (gaming)
The PSU is quite hot when running games, but I'm not sure how much C° is it (only feel by touching the casing where the PSU is installed)
Any advice or suggestion on this?

Thanks in advance

P.S. Currently interested on Cooler Master GX 550W, but saw quite a lot of forumers here don't recommend Cooler Master PSU

Manually change iPhone 4 Apps Icon

First of all, I believe a lot of iPhone 4 users are experiencing the same thing like me, where some of the apps icon does not support retina display and you'll see blur icon.
Example? I'll show you one example of the difference between blurry icon and a high definition icon:

Note: Left side is the original app icon where right side image is the modified app icon. You see the difference?

Seriously I don't quite like the app icon display like this (blur). What we can do is to wait for the app developer to update their app and also the icon. But some of the apps may not be updated so frequently. So I figure out some manual way to make the icon look nicer

The following method had been tested on my own iPhone 4 running iOS 4.1, theoretically will be able to apply onto other iPhone and iOS version as well, I'm not sure about it

To manually change the app icon, you'll need:
1) iFunBox - a very useful tool to manage your iPhone file system.
2) Any image authoring tool, Paint.NET is recommended.
3) Your iPhone needs to be JailBroken to transfer file into iPhone (credited edan1979). Please do not discuss about what is & how to JB here.

OK, now I'll show the steps to manually change app icon:
1) Locate your target app. In iFunBox, navigate to your iPhone, then double-click User Application.

2) You'll now see all the 3rd party apps that are installed on your iPhone. Find the target app and double-click it (in this tutorial I'll use Pocket God as example).

3) After double-click, you'll see some folders and some files (differ for different apps, but some of the specific files must be there).

As shown in the image, the (1) will be the app folder, and (2) will be the iTunesArtwork (image) which is the one you saw in your iTunes.

4) Now select and drag the iTuneArtwork file to your desktop. It will be a file without extension. Rename it to iTunesArtwork.png.

5) Right-click the iTunesArtwork.png and select to edit in authoring software, here I use Paint.NET as example.

6) Resize the image to 114x114 resolution (the original image should be larger than 114x114).

7) Now double-click the (2) to access the application folder. Here you need to look for an image file which will be the icon you saw on your iPhone. For most cases, its name will be icon.png or Icon.png (case-sensitive) with resolution 57x57. You should drag this file to your desktop as well, rename it to Icon.bak for backup purpose in case anything goes wrong.

8) Delete the file. Yes, delete it. Then now rename the iTunesArtwork.png you just edited to the same name as the original app icon file name (case-sensitive, icon and Icon are different) and then drag it from your desktop into the app folder.
Note: You must delete the file first before copy the modified icon into the folder or else this trick will not work.

9) Now you're done. Reboot your iPhone and you can see the changes!

PS: Some of you may have already know this trick, anyway, I just share what I just figure out for those who wishes to see their iPhone 4 in a better way
Cheers
