Downgrade 64-bit to 32-bit OS

Can anyone tell me that can i directly install a clean 32-bit OS on my new laptop which is preloaded with 64-bit vista? for example like i wan to install a clean Window 7 32-bit OS... will there any problem happen if i do so ? hardware problem or others. it is because that i wanna buy a laptop with 64-bit but i just wan to use 32-bit..
