I am a non-bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?
ASM, ASM2, ASM3.
2 - I am a bumiputera. And I am totally new to this. Which fund should I go?
Maximize your ASB1, ASB2, first then only proceed to ASB3, ASM, ASM2, and ASM3. But highly recommend not having your portfolio being too concentrated on Malaysia market. You can actually consider to have some UT that covering other region equity too!
3 - Any online transection allow?
ASNB have their own portal and buying units is totally FOC, no service charge
4 - EPF?
Yes. But details need an expert to explain it.
5 - Where can I buy the unit?
Agents. Pos MY, MBB, RHB, CIMB. And ASNB office as well. Newly added will be Affin Banks, BSN, Alliance Banks. But the service provided will be varies.
6 - Best time to buy?
No specific time. But the best shall remain the first few day of post-dividend-day.
7. Places to try opening new Fixed Price Fund for the Non-Bumipuitera.
Maybank
KLIA2, Bdr Bkt Tinggi 1, Klang Town, D'sara Uptown, KL Sentral, Cyberjaya, Cheng & Graha Peladang (Melaka),
Rampai Biz Park, Karak, KLCC, Desa Jaya (Kepong), Taman Pelangi (JB), Kompleks Bandar (OUG), Mid Valley Mall, Kuchai Lama
ASNB branches across Malaysia
PosMalaysia
HQ KL, Shah Alam, Triang, Klang Utara (near Mydin)
CIMB
Bangi, Jalan Parry Miri, Taman Putra Ampang, D'sara Uptown
RHB
Padungan, KLCC, Simpang 3 Kuching, Jalan Stesen Klang, Bandar Utama
Affin Bank
Cyberjaya
Places above are based on user experiences. And they managed to open the precious account on the mentioned location.
8. How much can I top up per day?(CASH)
50000 MYR per day for all types of products. Meaning, the limit will impose on an account number. But FPX only allow you to transfer 30000 MYR per bank account. Thus, for the remaining 20000 MYR, use other banks.
9. Having difficulties on opening up account in agents banks or ASNB branch!!! Its driving me nuts!!!
No worry. You can go to nearest agent bank to open up a variable price unit account with the minimum amount. Kindly neglect what bankers said about the VP, you just need around 100 MYR to open up a VP account. And with that account, you will have 1 universe account number, meaning all other FP account will be using the same account number.
Next, register yourself in the online portal; keep trying to open FP account through online portal. Now the chance to open new FP account is in your hand instead of others. Keep trying and you will got it for sure! Best time to open up an account still the same as best time to top up.

Flash Facts
- If there is no units available, you will never ever able to purchase new units or opening up a new account.

- To open up an account, you need 10 MYR, depend on the minimum initial amount. Some still 100 MYR

- To top up, minimum value shall at 1.00 MYR.

- When opening up an account, can choose any of the three FP, they actually act the same just subject to availability.

- Regarding the date to top up, its up to you. I don't wish to explain this further.

- Transferring of unit from one holder to another holder is now available.

- Transferring of unit of different FP fund of a same holder is available.

- Transferring of units can be done in ANSB branch with a processing fees of 15.00 MYR. All subject to availability for different fund.

All about dividend, the most important part of all
- Pro-rated
- Once a year, according to the financial year end date.
- Any amount you purchase on the first day of the month, that amount will be eligible for dividend calculation for that particular month.
- The amount that eligible for the divided calculation will be the lowest amount of units available in that particular month.
- Its compounding!

Now, here can continue to spam whatever u guys want. Have fun.

I am planning to bring a car from KL to Sarawak, and is quite clueless about the logistics to bring the car here safely, timely and at reasonable cost

Has anyone tried it? How much was it?

Sea or Air freight? How long will both method reach here?

Please share your experience

I researched some options via MasKargo but still clueless

4 x 4 trucks for logistical purposes

Here's a scenario. Need 4 units of 4x4 pickup trucks to bring some people go off roading. Need to be reliable and robust. 2 weeks use.

Small startup company, has little capital.

Requirement: used but in good condition, will need to refit with off road tyres, must be able to drink dirty diesel if needed, preferabbly manual tranny with the good old full lockout mechanial couplings (not that shit magnetic coupling) when the road gets too rouch

the choices are:

supreme king will be Toyota Hilux (RM60 - 80k)

Why?

Robust, lots of spare parts, everyone can repair, bulletproof as verified by now defunct TG

But bloody expensive. A 2007 one still can demand rm 60k price.

The contenders:

Nissan Navara (big & spacious, price cheaper than Hilux) (RM50 - 60k)

parts are expensive. true or not?

Nissan Frontier (cheap as hell, can get around 25 - 30k for a decent used one)

bad point? the back seat is cramped as hell

Mitsu Triton - everything about it is avg. avg price, avg size (RM40 - 50k)

Isuzu D-Max. no experience driving this car, but pricewise is cheap. slightly more exp than frontier. (RM30 - 45k)

will also need at least 5k cash for each vehicle to retrofit with offroad tyres, oil changes, change new belting (u don't want it to snap in the jungle), new PU seat cover and what else?

where can get cheap china offroad tyres?

and what major brand off road tyres are cheap and good? other than silverstone (rm400 each?) or second hand used tyres

edit: added previous gen d-max
edit2: added prices

RM2,500 salary should be enough for fresh grads

http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014...erts-on-salary/

QUOTE

KUALA LUMPUR: A starting salary of RM2,500 for graduates who have just entered the employment world will suffice as long as they manage their finances well and live within their means.
Economist and financial management experts say this average starting salary can be considered reasonable given that the fresh grads have no skills or experience and that the employer has to take the risk of employing them.

The head of the education division of the Credit Counseling and Debt Management Agency(AKPK), Mohd Adnan Anan Abdullah says that for the spendthrift even a bit fat pay cheque will not suffice.

"Whether what one earns is enough is dependent on the individual's profile. Say in Kuala Lumpur, if one eats out every day it could cost up RM30 per day, and the spending will be greater if one has habits like smoking".

Apart from that, he advised that those who have just started work should not rush into buying luxuries like a car. They should stabilise their financial position beforehand. "Owning a car at a very young age is definitely 'cool' but one should not forget of the additional ownership costs involved - fuel, toll, parking charges, maintenance and insurance coverage when lumped up could prove to be hefty", he said.

A study on job seekers going through a local job portal found that degree holders felt a salary of RM2,500 to be insufficient with 77 per cent of the 2,062 respondents could hardly save after spending on the basic necessities.

About 60 per cent of the respondents expected a starting salary of RM3,500, while 30 per cent of them asked for RM6,500. On the employer’s side, 66% said they were ready to pay between RM2,500 and RM2,800 depending on the qualification.

However, Mohd Adnan refuted claims that a salary of RM2,500 is insufficient to keep aside some amount for savings and saving 10 per cent of one's monthly income is part of good financial management.

"Saving is important, but calls for tough financial discipline and perseverance, and can be done through unit trusts or separate bank accounts. As long as there is balance in the bank account one will be tempted to spend, thus savings must be something that one is forced to do", he says.

The Executive Director of the Federation of Malaysian Employers, Shamsuddin Bardan points out the aforementioned starting salary could be considered as reasonable for graduates who have no experience and the fact that employers have to spend to teach them on the trade.

"They have to realise that the employment openings are limited and if they are too demanding on the salary they may end up being unemployed.

"So take a positive view and see your first job as the opportunity to seek knowledge, and after having garnered some experience they could 'test the market' at other places. There is no obligation for one to remain loyal to an employer".

Shamsuddin adds that if they excel, along with additional qualities like good communication skills, don't be surprised the employers themselves give a pay rise within a short time.

Employers are well aware that they could easily lose good employees if they are not rewarded accordingly.

An economic lecturer with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Professor Dr Shazali Abu Mansor shared similar views with Shamsuddin.

Prof Shazali says graduates should consider themselves as still undergoing practical training while at their first job.

"The key here is patience. If during your practical training you could take a bus, why not do the same now? Don't think that as soon as you start work you could just forget how you lived as a student".

Committee member for the economic and management cluster of the National Professor Council, Professor Dr Samsinar Md Sidin says the younger employees, especially those who reside in towns, should spend wisely.

"At times it is better to rent a room near the workplace, though it may be expensive it is better than traveling from far away, as this also helps to avoid the waste of time and energy", he says.

The lecturer at the economic and management faculty of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) added that parents could help out financially at the initial stage.

"Some of those who have just graduated also do part time work, including through online means, however they have to ensure their main occupation is not affected. Don't waste any opportunity", he says. - Bernama

i agree

rm 2,500 per day salary is more than enough to survive nowadays
