Hi guys, recently my PS4 broke down, can't seem to turn it on. Naturally I went and sent it for service.
After googling service centers, I sent it to GameOn at Starling Mall, Uptown PJ. Was told that they will send it to their technician, diagnose and will let me know the issue and price and if I want to proceed. I chose GameOn because they seem to have good customer service ratings on the web.

Now, here's the thing.

They got back to me today, stating that they need to change my motherboard, and it will cost me RM400 to fix. That's a lot of money! Initially when I brought the console to fix, the guy at the shop told me that this is a common PS4 problem, fixing it will range around 150-200. Now suddenly it's motherboard and RM400. (Basically the console, when I turn it on, it beeps once and goes dead immediately and doesnt respond to anything after, I have to unplug the power cord and plug back to get a response, but it's still the same 1 beep and dead after that)
On top of that, they said it's only a 50% chance that the fix will work, if it doesn't work, they won't charge me. If it works, it's RM400!

What I'm concerned is, how do I know if it's really my motherboard issue? what if it's just my power supply. but they want to charge me the most expensive thing, which is motherboard?
Secondly, if I don't want to proceed, they will return my console. How do I know if they didn't swap out any parts/aka harvested my ps4 for parts and return it back to me? I'm not electronics expert, so I can't tell even if I open it and check.
How are consumers like me protected in this sense?

Need advise on shared property

Hi guys,

Last year, me and my gf at the time shared money to buy a property. Everything from loan, house, insurance have both of our names. (Initially she wanted the loan to be just my name but property both names, I disagreed because it's only fair that both names are present on anything)
As we're not financially strong enough to BUY the property from each other, we're planning to rent it out and share the costs.

So for now, we're planning to change the names on our house insurance and loan insurance thing as we put each other as Next of Kin or something. As I'm a first time property owner, I need advise on what I can do and need to do, if there are additional costs, where to go, etc etc..

Because I'm going through tough and difficult times, I greatly appreciate if you could advise me on just the property issue and refrain from asking me bout the relationship, why end la, bla bla bla..

Astro with 2 locations

I'm facing a situation here which I cant figure out, so if you guys have any kind advise, please do!

I'm currently going to move to a new condo from an old condo, currently in my old condo I have this set-up:

Old Condo: Astro + TIME IPTV

For my new condo, I'm planning to have the same set-up, which is Astro+TIME IPTV.

HERE'S THE PROBLEM!

I need to keep the Astro+Internet set-up at the old condo because once in a few months, my in-laws will visit from overseas. So they will stay at the old condo and they want the entertainment.
Is there a way I can have the same set-up in the new condo WITHOUT applying for 2 Astro+TIME IPTV? I feel it's stupid to pay these services twice every month when the old condo one is only being used once every few months.
How do I retain both set-ups for 2 different locations, without doubling my bills? I don't have to watch Astro when my in-laws are here but I definitely want my Internet.

I'm thinking of transferring the package to my new place but somehow keep the Astro decoder at the old condo and just buy an Internet dongle and bring my Astro card over, is that even going to work?

Inviting custom rig sifus to throw some recommendations over to me.

Looking to buy a mid-high range gaming rig + monitor + OS with budget around RM4400
Things I already have which I dont need:
keyboard
mouse
speakers
headsets

So literally just desktop tower + monitor..If I can get a setup within the budget which includes OEM OS, would be even better...

Why I'm looking for a new rig? Because my 'gaming laptop' keeps having FPS lags when things on screen gets too appealing. I want to play Diablo 3, Path of Exile or Dota 2 with high settings and constant 60fps.

Edit: Bumped up budget to around RM4400....
