Is it possible for Chinese to rent Malay reserve land to do agriculture? If it is not allowed, and let say I still do it behind their back, what are the consequences if found out by authority?

Hi,

Two years back I worked in KL and I played my part and submitted income tax before moving to Sg. However, now that I am working in Singapore do I still need to declare to LHDN? Knowing that there is literary nothing to declare, do I still need to fill up the form by putting zero income and then submit it? Or do I even need to go to the extend of informing them that I am working in Sg now?

Please assist.

Hi,

I am an working adult who usually finishes work on 7pm. Should i take dinner before i go gym or after i go gym. I feel that after taking dinner my stomach will be too full and i will not be comfortable doing gym. Likewise, i'm afraid that taking late dinner after gym will make me fat easily. Please advise.

Can anyone advise me on the daily food consumption as well for me to keep fit?

Billboard taiko come in plz!

A frein of mine juz quit from his job in advertising company. Well, according to him, he sees the opportunity in billboard business. From what i know, billboard busineess is more of a less hassle business whereby less maintanance is needed(According to him). But, as easy as it might sound, i still find that the market for billboard business is too saturated. Everywhere i go i see different billboard owned by different company.

The catch here is that he plan to build this billboard in private premisis such as on top of eye catching shoplot. (But the procedure to apply for license and approval i not really sure about it). Doesnt seems to hv alot of billboard on top of shop lot. Afer getting concession from owener and approval from majlis perbandaran only he will start to look for advertiser.

Can someone let me know wether this plan can work out? Set up billboard on private premises. Anyone from billboard or advertising industry please clarify my doubts. TQ

And is this a high profir margin business?

I need to know asap as i need to provide feedback to my frein. He might move on with the plan if he doesnt hear anything from my side. So, do help out. TQ.

Steamboat buffet business

I will be opening a steamboat buffet shop in Rawang. Opened this thread to share ideas and feel free to drop any comments fellow LYN forumer.

Start up cost will be roughly 50k.(Refer to breakdown)

Minor renovation - 15k
Chair & table - 5k
utensils - 10k
Fridge, wok ++ - 10k
Upfront payment, rental ++ - 5k ( The rental is 1500 per month for 2 stories shop lot)
Advertising - 5k

My steamboat buffet restaurant will be open in a less crowded area. Still in the middle of the rawang town but slightly less populated shop because i don't wana see my patron having problem finding parking. So in this case, advertising is very important!!!!

p/s: This will be the 1st time i start doing a business. So would like to know what is the most important thing to make a steamboat buffet business success? ISIT the variety of the food or price? Any particular food not to be miss in steamboat?

engineer working in investment banking

I am a mechanical engineer working in a construction company (soon). However, after listening to my cousin, he told me that engineers are highly sought after in investment banking as well. Probably due to the technical, calculation, modeling skill and etc poses in engineer. Is this true? Any particular engineer here work in investment banking? Plz feel free to share your idea on career prospect for investment banking.

Hi, I juz opened my trading account today.

So by tomorrow, i will be able to make trading. Since that i hvnt work(no pay slip). Will start working on februaury. My account is the kind which i deposit money into it. I deposited rm3000 into my account to do trading.

To cut thing short, anyone care to share their idea on how to trade with just rm3000. Should i go for warrant instead coz the price will be cheaper. But of coz therein lies a high risk as well. Hmph..

Any warrant or stock to recommend me? Plz do not ask me to buy blue chip, etc. That will be totally out of my budget and range.

Hardship allowance

hi everyone,

Remember in my other thread i mentioned that i was waiting for my offer letter? Today i received my offer letter. The Rm 600 allowance that i mentioned as site allowance was actually HARDSHIP allowance. Now, anyone here know wat is a hardship allowance?? Does it mean that my job gona be very hard or wat? Really hv no idea? Will be fully exploit me??

P/S: This company is a public listed construction company. I will be position in melaka for AEON shopping mall construction project. My basis will be 2500 + 600 hardship allowance + 300 food allowance.

Hello evyone,

I want to ask something out. Lets say, a company which is a construction company offer me basic + 600 site allowance + 300 food allowance. Does it mean that my salary will be basic + 900 total allowance. Or d allowance is it subjected to claimed from the department? Meaning will i be getting full of the allowance or will that be moderated based on the claim 1 made?

Coz i still hvnt recieve my offer letter yet and i m a fresh graduate. So i dun really noe anything about allowance.

Btw, i will be positioned in melaka by this company. I plan to set up a small business which is something like burger stall to earn extra pocket money. Anyone here can tell me any strategic place in melaka to do such business? What should i take into consideration before starting up?
