MMU Research Project in Collaboration with MIMOS

Title of research:

GPGPU Accelerated Video Analytic Algorithm Parallelization Enabling Massive Image Data Processing

The objectives of the project are as follows:

1. To propose novel parallelism technique(s) for multi-camera video analytics for surveillance, in particular ROI based motion detection, intrusion detection, line intrusion and slip and fall detection.
2. To research, redesign and implement selected parallelized multi-camera video analytics in GPU for high speed, accuracy and large number of data-set processing enabling scalability based on a heterogeneous hardware platform.
3. To propose novel performance and resource optimization technique(s) for video analytics in GPU for multiple image analysis.

The ideal candidate should possess:
1. A bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer/Multimedia/Telecommunications engineering or Computer Science/IT with minimum second upper class (preferably CGPA above 3.5).
2. Background knowledge or prior experience in digital image and video processing and GPU programming.
3. Excellent command of English.
4. Independent and self-motivated.

The monthly student stipend is RM2500. The successful candidate is required to enroll in Multimedia University’s Master of Engineering Science (by research) program, who will be supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chang Yoong Choon. The duration of the project is 24 months.

Need advice on job problem

Hi, I was offered a job as process engineer in a semicon manufacturing company. I am still under probation (joined for 1 month). I found that this job is not suitable for me as I am doing the job scope which is not same as stated during the interview and offered letter. I am now assigned by my boss to support another dept's manager for their project. The problem is this dept's manager tend to take huge risk when doing their project. They not following the rules causing many problems for us (new engineers) to settle. Dissapointed with the company. Plan to resign. Any advice?

Hello,
I am a EE fresh graduate but i got offered by a palm oil mill company, working as cadet engineer. The salary is RM1800 and work in estate. I am not really like the job because i am more interested in EE field. Should i take the job or i should find another job? What is future for palm oil industry?
My parent keep add pressure on me as i been unemployed for 1 month and they want me take job . Any advice?
