Share Your Bi-amping experience.

Need to get feedback from those who have taken the bi-amping path.

As we know, there are several methods of bi-amping.

1. using 2 identical power amps.
2. using different power amps.
3. using 2 solid state power amps or 2 tube amps
4. combination: tube power amp to handle the midrange while solid state power amp for the bass
5. using an active subwoofer (via speaker cables)

Have i missed out other methods?...anyway, please share your experience. I am keen to know more on the matter.

Thanks.
MP3 and My Hi-fi (Conrad Johnson)

Greetings to all...my very first posting.

I have been out of touch with the current audiophile scene...priority changes as you get older!!!!

System that I have at home (its more than 10 yrs old):

1. Marantz CD 17
2. Conrad Johnson PV10 AL Pre amp
3. Conrad Johnson Sonographe SA250 power amp
4. Epos ES 11 loudspeakers (biwired)
5. Audio Pro B1.35 active subwoofer...hence biamping
6. Bada Audio LB3300 power conditioner....bought recently
7. Van Den Hul...interconnets, speaker cables

I am still very happy with the sound of my `old' system especially having the CJs serviced recently.
I know that MP3 is a dirty word among audiophiles and I apologise if this posting will cause some uneasiness among members.

However I have been connecting my MP3 player (Samsung U3 1GB) to DVD Player (Pioneer DV 400V...has a USB port). DVD player connected to pre amp through AUX.....some ofyou might be cringing already.

I am happy with the sound and convenience,.. not having to change CDs that often.

MY QUESTION:

Is there any way for me to improve the MP3 sound quality (which currently is not too bad) with my current set up?

Is there really a better MP3 player...my readings suggests that as far as MP3 is concerned, it is the rate of compression that matters not the player. Please comment.

If I were to get an I Pod, will it make much difference....also what about an I Pod dock?

Please help....Thanks
