psp 2000 in psp 3000 housing

i've been looking the net for guide in installing psp 2000 in 3000 housing. people says it was not possible. actually it is quite possible but needing some modification. but *the* modification did not shown anywhere around the net. so here i go, with the actual guide on how to modify your 3000 housing to fitting in your psp2000.

1st you just remove these 2 lower (nubs). these nubs are used to hold the lower heatsink in place. then, remove half of the upper (screwhole). these are supposed to hold the 3000 button bar with screws. but if u don't remove it, u will have problem inserting your soundboard to it's place.

and the motherboard, ribbon cables, blabla. really, these are just the same as installing a psp 2000

okay here is the major difference. on 2000 housing, there is screwhole here to hold the motherboard in place, along with the d-pad base. just let it go like that. i think L button holder screw is quite enough to hold the mobo. but please be acknowledged, this will not ensure your analog a firm contact with the mobo thru the rubber contact. we will go thru this later k.

problem solving:

with the base heatsink holder is gone, how do we go keeping the heatsink in place?
- just use masking tape and attach the heatsink directly to the mobo.

analog is not detected / heavy drift / wrongly moving.
- use double sided foam tape. u dont remove the tape plastic. or just use card if u accidentally remove it. paste it under your analog.

umd door cannot be closed.
- you have to say goodbye to this black thin plastic before u install the umd module. this are supposed to hold the umd. but i found u can still play the umd flawlessly.

my mobo faulty or..?

my 6 months old pc, last time my gc gigabyte 8500gt is failing. the fan kenot run. 2 days after, it's dead. no display and the post beep confirms it (1 long 2 short).
after rma, for the last 1 month, until today, finally they replace me a new one.

just now i install back to my mobo abit an52s, still got no display, gc fan not running, and the same post beep still present.

what dyou guys think? dah kena tipu kah saya?

graphic corruptions

I'm diagnosing a compaq laptop to determine what could cause this problem. (in spoiler)
btw, the pic is not a screenshot from the said lappie. i just found from google and it has the exact same pattern.

she says it happened 3 times oredi but not frequent. when it reboot, once in post screen it will be gone.
my question is, what could possibly cause such graphic corruption.

17" lcd
amd turion x2

Manual update Symantec Antivirus

I use Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition since version 7.1 and until now still happily using version 10.2

problem:
-What if you handle several pc in a workgroup area.
-All of it using client edition of this antivirus. None are server.
-Internet not allowed, so there goes Live Update.(My workplace no internet but yes Symantec Intelligent Update page)
-Thumb drive is not allowed (Like mine. sigh)

Solution:
Just download the Intelligent Update manually
Download English Updates

Then copy this code

Then, paste it in notepad.
Save it as like this
Save as type: choose All Files
File Name: name it "Manual.bat" of course with the quotation marks.

Also need to create 2 subfolders
C:\update\Manual Update
C:\update\Intelligent Update

After done that, place your intelligent update and Manual.bat in c:\update
Try running the Manual.bat batch program by double-clicking it.

If all goes well, your virus definition files will be extracted in "C:\update\Manual Update" subfolder

So, to let the antivirus to update using the files, just copy them in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\incoming

Make sure the file "ZDONE.DAT" is the last you copy there.

That's it. If you want to pass the files to many PC, just make a startup batch file in everyone's PC to copy from your "Manual Update" folder over the network. You're done! The steps should be the same with XP/Vista/Norton Anitvirus
