WTA: Camera Sensor Cleaning Service

Hie Does anyone has any reliable service man/ shop to do sensor cleaning in Penang?

Please provide me shop name and contact number. I need to clean my Nikon D40.

My photos have a lot of black dots and lines, which i suspect is dust. However, i tried DIY cleaning with a blower but it doesn't help. Some of the black dots are gone, some shifted location, some are still there. So i think i need a more professional help on this.

Please, if you have contact for Penang area, please let me know. I'm tired of Photoshoping it again and again.

P/S: If you know the rate they normally charge, please let me know as a reference too? I never had it done before. Thanks

2nd Car Hire Purchase

Hie,

After huf and puf for almost a year, i finally got enough money and finally found a car. Its a 2008 vios, for 60k. i planned to loan 40+k plus with 20k d/payment. My car dealer has feedback to me with a car loan from a local bank, with 3.8% for 5 years. Here are a few questions.

1. He said the procedure is i sign the contract, then only he send to puspakom and fix the car (got some problem with the side mirror not functioning). After that, i need to pay d/payment to his company, then only get the car. however, he din't mention where the 'tukar nama' procedure comes in. Want to ask is this a proper procedure? or i should insists he fix the car first before signing?

2. The car price was 60K, after adding all the bla bla bla it came up to 63k (together with insurance and roadtax). Is 3k a reasonble price to pay for a 'processing'?

3. He said the loan from this bank and (according to hime) as of all other banks, requires me to get a personal insurance from the bank itself for RM300.00 per year. Although i didn't ask for how long, i assume as long as i not finish the loan, i have to pay RM300 a year. Is this a standard? i never heard such thing before. My total protection coverage (i.e. if i die) is already enough to cover my houseloan, and this car loan. why should i get a new insurance?

4. I have not check with police or JPJ on the car, how can i do this? just walk in to a traffic or JPJ office and say i wanan buy this car, can you check the registry if it's blacklisted? or i should go to some special department that handle this?

5. i requested for the car geran for photocopy, the dealer said it's still with the bank. Logic? i tot dealer bought over the car to resell them. how to check chasis number and engine number if geran not available?

Hope to get an answer before i sign tomorrow. i rather lose the 300booking fee rather than my 60k. Thanks in advance.

How to deal with used car dealers!?

Hello,

after much thought i've decided to get myself a used car as my first car. I've been searching some list and reading alot of post about buying used cars. Just want to ask here first so i do not look stupid when i get to the dealers.

1. i read from oversea forum, you are allowed to check (including opening the engine oil cap etc) the car as you like. Are you allowed to do so in Malaysia?

2. I also read that test drive as much and to whatever route you like, speed to a higher speed say 120kmh and make simulated braking, driving up hill, overtaking etc (of course comes with moderation), are you allowed that in Malaysia?

3. Are you allowed to ask about the car details like history etc like owner, why the owner sell the car, or even the contact number of owner?

4. How to make sure the car is accident free apart from checking the chassis frame and car body? is there a record somewhere? like insurance or traffic record? can we request to check if really interested to buy?

5. Finally, if we already intend to buy, can we nego? can anyone advice what is the range of negotiable limits? -5k? i asked so because i have the idea that normally, prices advertised in carlist, mudah or mototrader should be slightly higher (are they?). Is there a limit? i dun wanna piss people off if i suddenly make funny offer.

6. Who will do the dealings on financial side? for loan example, i have to find bank or dealers do that?

I asked all these questions because i normally people go 'shopping' for used car normally looked relax like they know the seller for long time. i'm first time and new to my work place, i really dun have anyone to rely on. so i need to know for sure, is the 'practice' i read from internet can be exercise in malaysia.

I also would like to know, is there any disadvantage in buying used car in terms of insurance claims etc. i would like to think that the car value is lower so premium is lower too? or is it that because it's old so the 'claims' we can made is discounted?

i'm actually eyeing on Sentra 1.8 03/04 or a Civic 1.7 01/02. Both are quite old car but i guess for 50k that's about the better choices out there.

Hello and Happy New Year,

My first resolution for 2009 is to get a new PC! LoL.
Here's what i need from my PC,
1. Adequate capacity for working at home (GIS, CAD, Mathematic modelling, words etc)
2. Adequate movie (i'm not fussy with the clarity, as long as it doesn't hang or lag)
3. Good Gaming (i seldom play 3d games, i do strategy like DOTA, BUT i wanna play FM 2009 which is very memory demanding)
4. Also some image editing with photos (minor ones, batch resize, crop, autoexpose etc)

Here's my built after survey for sooooo long and reading comments and built of sooooo many people. please comment:
1. Casing: CM Elite RM150
2. PSU: Silverstone ST56F RM330
3. CPU: Intel C2D E7300 RM400
4. Mobo: MSI P45 Neo2/ Gigabyte EP45-UD3R RM480
5. RAM: Kingston 2GB DDR2 800Mhz RM70
6. GPU: Sapphire HD 4670 512mb DDR3 RM280
7. HDD: 320GB 7200rpm 16mb RM170
8. Opt Drive: liteon DVD Writer RM90
9. Monitor: BenQ T2200HD/ Samsung 2233SW RM 590
TOTAL Budget: Around 2.5k
*prices are estimation based on pricelists of various vendors.

My Questions:
1. Mobo: MSI or Gigabyte better?
2. RAM: is 2GB enough? any significant difference if i chose high performance RAM?
3. Monitor: BenQ or Samsung more worth it? BenQ has 1year Warranty and Samsung has 3yr...
4. PSU: what if i chose a cap palang PSU? would it affect my system?
5. If i have an extra Rm200 to spare, where would you guys suggest me to invest? RAM or GPU?

Thank you.
