Putrajaya Critical Mass (PCM #11)

Unless you still think ignorance is bliss, most of us know what is now happening in Gaza. There too many sad things that we could write and talk about yet too few to lend a helping hand.

Putrajaya Critical Mass is very, very much on a charity mode instead of a lovey-dovey valentine twang.

This month we ride for Gaza. Let’s show our community that PCM is not just about fun cycling but that we can try and help those in need. Let’s do this ride and donate (I’m sure you can fork a little bit of that money you save for a new pair of wheelset.) to our PCM Gaza Fund. All collections will be given to NSTP Fund for Gaza.

Please take note that we’re changing our meeting point starting this month. All massers will gather in front of Palace of Justice. We’re pretty much sure most of the regulars know how to get there. Lost? Fret not; we’re putting up a Google map soon.

There are plenty of parking spaces around the area. Take note to come early. If you’re hungry there is a pasar malam within walking distance. For those who want to pray, it’s near the Putrajaya Mosque.

We hope these changes would come for the good of all of us. We hope more people would come and cycle with us. And we hope that all of us continue to believe in PCM. Believe there is always hope for every one of us, even in those in Gaza. (Why am I monologuing? Boring kan?)

Beginners and seasoned are all specially invited. Let’s ride for Gaza.

It’s 2009. And it’s a new beginning to Putrajaya Critical Mass. We’re very grateful to survive last year despite the rants and the unbelievers. But whatever right? It’s like cycling, there are swerves, uphills, downhills, getting bonked and left behind from the group and there’s always the first 100 placings where you get a medal and certificate. Let bygones be bygones. We’re hoping for the best and let’s cycle even MORE this year!

This first month, we’re just plain KAYUH! No bulls and pees from others. Let’s get together and start afresh with one another and just have that plain, “fun” ride (haha! Ada lagi yang kena komen lepas ni…)

Reviving a half Dead Motherboard

For anyone who have half dead mobo after failed flashing it in Windows, using the award bootblock to revive your bios, do the following:

***this only can be implement to motherboard that using Award Phoenix bios.

1)Your Mobo already half dead no matter what you do.

2)Find another computer/laptop that is alive

3)Format a floppy disk, pls tick the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" option

4)Download the award bios program example: AWD887.exe

5)Download bios file for the mobo you're using from their website (should end .bin)

6)Put both the AWD887.exe (or any other awardflash exe) and the bios file into the floppy disk (write down the names of both on a piece of paper, u will need to retype the name later)

7)At the dead computer, Unplug/turn off main power of the computer, push the power button to discharge any power, clear the CMOS.

8)Unplug all devices hooked up to the dead computer (hard drive, cd rom, mouse, etc) except your floppy drive and your keyboard.

9)Power on ur dead computer, if it got dual bios it will seek floppy drive to boot, make sure the bootable disk is inserted, after awhile it should leave you at a dos prompt. A:/

10)Run the Award Bios program by typing (without the quotes) "AWD887.exe /Sb"
- The /Sb tells it to not overwrite any bootblock codes.

11)The Award Bios program prompt you for a file name. Enter the exact name of the BIOS file example: 123abc456.bin

12)Wait...it might ask you if you want to clear out some stuff, choose yes. wait until it finish flashing. When it asks to restart, choose yes.

13)Power down, reconnect your stuff. clear the cmos. Turn it back on, enter the bios setting, load optimal setting, save n exit.
