ING Investment linked Insurance Enquiry

Hi there guys,

I know they've been many topics relating to this. But i do have one enquiry... I am looking to purchase another insurance coverage. My apologies if i am not using the right technical insurance jargons... I only know how to speak in layman's terms...

I have been introduced two policies.

1. Traditional Great Eastern Policy (RM1600+ pa) coverage 50K

2. Investment Linked ING Policy (RM1800 pa) coverage 200K

From my understanding, in the long run, the GE policy will have more premium and the insurance charges are stagnant throughout - and the coverage increases over time to a possibility of even doubling the initial amount?

The investment linked ING Policy however, in the long run, would most likely run low (or even run out of premium) because as we grow older, the insurance charges would increase over time and when the charges supercedes the amounts we pay yearly, they would start depleting from our accummulated premiums - and when this happens, over time it will reduce the overall premium amount (Scenario A). On top of that, because it is an investment linked fund, IN THE EVENT if economy is bad or if ING makes a horribly wrong decision in a bad investment, it would also reduce our accummulated premiums (Scenario B). If Scenario A + Scenario B happens at the same time, within a matter of years our accummulated funds would have a possibility of depleting to 0. And if that happens, in the next year (by this stage if I am very old already) my yearly premium may not be enough to cover the yearly insurance charges - and because of this, ING would ask me to pay more - thus increasing my premium payments. Because my funds over the years have totally depleted, and due to my old age, the premium i paid yearly is not enough to cover the hefty insurance charges...

Please tell me if anything I am saying is making sense - or am i completely lost...

NEXT - in the event if the ING investment linked insurance policy Goes really really bad due to economy downturn - would it affect my 200K coverage? would my policy be automatically void?

The reason i am asking this is because I read this line inside the policy "This is a Investment Linked Insurance policy, providing insurance coverage to the life insured as long as the Policy remains in force and the Total Investment Value of the Policy is sufficient to pay for the insurance and other charges. Please note that the ultimate coverage period is subject to the performance of the underlying funds, future premium contribution, fees and charges."

Based on this term/condition - the ones i put in BOLD - would it mean that if the investment did not perform well, it would affect my coverage??? I asked my insurance agent about this and he said no, my coverage is still 200K, not affected. the statement is referring to my accummulated premium and divident payouts.

Now for me, I want everything to be black and white. If they really did mean that if the investment went bad, it would reduce my accummulated premium funds and i'd lose my dividends - they should just write it out! using the words premiums and dividents. WHY would they write "Coverage" instead? and in the event if something were to turn bad, the investment fails, and we lose the insurance, we'd have no grounds to fight legally because it is clearly written that the performance of the investment funds would affect the coverage period.

Hope some sifus here can help clear my uncertainties...

Many thanks and best best regards,
From a Lost soul...

Hi there guys,

I wanna get a new gaming PC but I have no clue about customizing one.

Can someone give me some suggestions here?
