Hi, I would like some advice and suggestion for the situation my friend, A is in.

A is doing their PhD and their supervisor has been extremely unhelpful; refusing/delaying to sign extension on grants until past the deadline, refusing/delaying on signing on purchase approvals for research items, etc. This supervisor is a replacement for their original one who left but I won't get into too much details on this.

So A who has suffered and bared with this supervisor for a few years finally snapped and brought up a request to change supervisors with the HOD. Initially, the HOD agreed with A's situation and said they would help by getting a new supervisor. However, after preliminary meetings, the supposed replacement supervisor and the HOD are saying A's work for the last few years is not good enough and A would need to change their topic and put in a few more years of work. They are willing to take A in with these new conditions.

Now I find this very infuriating as A has already done a few years of research work and passed every annual review with all the required signatures (including from the HOD themself). For me, the fact that A needs to redo a few more years of research work aka restart their PhD is quite a ridiculous option and frankly sounds like the new supervisor and the HOD taking advantage of this situation.

What are the options available for A at this rate? Would MOHE be an avenue for complaints?

What do you do with potential fraudsters?

Someone added me on soc media then added me on whatsapp. They claim they are from UK but their english is horrible
Then after a week they said they got robbed and needed money lol. I played along and now have their bank details together with their phone number but I don't think I can file a report as the fraud hasn't happened yet

Is there a list somewhere I can put their details in so any potential victim can search for it in the future?

Need Help Getting A New Graphics Card For My PC

I have a MSI P4M890/900M2 mobo with a PCI-Ex1 slot and am currently using a Nvidia 7300 GT card.
Have been seriously looking to upgrade in awhile but don't know which card i can and should get..
I'm looking for a good card for games (COD:MW2,L4D2,AVPetc) of course not Crysis-type games
Really need help as i don't even know where to start with.
