Trouble Updating PS3 games

Okay, here's the scenario;

I have an 80GB Phat PS3 from 2008, recently it has been showing signs of YLOD.

For the past month, the auto-shutdown becomes more frequent, until yesterday during restoration the screen goes blank (I thought, KO already)

I went to safe mode and restored the whole system, suddenly the system is fine, I can install my GTA game data and play normally like nothing happened. Updated my PSstore, installed youtube etc.

But I have one problem, I had to download back every single update for my GTA V. And everytime I get the "an error has occured during download (80710736)"

Sometimes, I finish the download, and get an error during install (80029564) at 14%.

I have tried everything. Adjusting DNS, Ethernet Cable, DMZ but still i get errors.

I reformatted twice, restored default settings twice, restored database TWICE... still ERROR.

So could there be something wrong with my HDD or is my PS3 just ready to rest in peace?

Ok, I'm not really good at the technicalities with my laptop's hardware. but here's a little info on my laptop

Compaq Presario CQ35
Intel Core Duo 2.1GHz
Memory 2gb

Recently I have experienced a few problems;

- While playing HD and large movie files on several movie players(WMP, DivX, RealPlayer), the video starts to skip and hang after 20 minutes or sometimes less.

- laptop heats up really fast

- my CPU usage is at 100% all the time, even when starting up

- slow browser performance

I have disabled almost every program using Tune Up Utilties, but still going on.

Do I need to upgrade my processor or memory?
