Master of ERP from Victoria University

Hello,

Does anyone knows the reputation of this course?

I am thinking to take this course, Master of Business in ERP

Master of Business in ERP

But many of my seniors suggested me to go for University of Technology Sydney or RMIT instead as they have better reputation, but after checking their course structure, I still prefer VU as the course has full emphasis on SAP. But still a bit worry that the job prospect will be affected because of the not so good reputation of the university.

Any SAP seniors here would like to comment? Or anyone who knows about this course.

I am actually looking at Master of Business Information Technology in RMIT as well.

I would really like to study SAP, just not sure if I have made the right choice.

Please advise....

*To MOD, I put this topic here because the respondent will be mainly people who works in SAP and I think that this is the right forum to post this topic

Hi all,

I have a problem here.

My laptop has been showing bluescreen quite often and I saw that it is caused by the display driver, I downloaded the correct display driver from nVidia.com and tried to install, and it shows that it could not find compatible hardware.

The display card is GT230M

I googled and tried their solution, no one works though.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

It's window 7 home premium 64 bits.

Thanks!

I am using cq40-402ax Compaq, I bought it second hand, he had installed window XP inside, this laptop actually comes with Windows Vista Premium License, and a recovery partition, but I believe, he delete the partition and just copy the backup files(picture below) into one of the partition.

[attachmentid=1419562]

Now my problem is, how can I recover from these files?
HP vs Toshiba

I am considering these 2 laptops,

1. HP dv4-2115TX
- Intel® Core™ i5-540M Processor
(2.53GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
- 320GB 7200rpm Hard Disk Drive
- ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4550 Graphics Chipset
- 14.1' Diagonal WXGA High Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display
(1280 x 800)
- 2 Altec Lansing Speakers, SRS Premium Sound

2. Toshiba M500-S433
- Intel® Core™ i5-540M Processor
(2.53GHz, 3MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
- 500GB (SATA) Hard Disk Drive with shock absorbers
- NVIDIA® GeForce® G310M (ext 512MB VRAM)
- 14.0' WXGA HD Clear SuperView LED Backlight TFT display (16:9)
- Harmon Kardon Speakers

Price is the same, RM3499...

Harddisk space>>>Toshiba Win
Graphic Card>>>HP Win
Screen>>>Toshiba Win(not very sure how does WXGA High Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display perform, but I doubt how can it beat a led screen?)
Speaker>>>Since some of you said Toshiba is better, I will check it out and update this field.

Seriously, if compare like this, Toshiba win in every aspect, but I am not sure why I am still looking at HP DV4, perhaps it has something to do with my previous 2 laptops were HP/Compaq, and now using a Compaq.

Can anyone give me reason to pick the HP dv4? Perhaps it gives more executive feeling?

Anyone who works in Australia would like to give some comments?

Kuala Lumpur:
When it comes to IT line, what comes to my mind is that they will have to deal with OT when dealing with deadline and it has no ending. Boss expect you to do everything be it related to your responsibility or not.

Australia:
Not very sure, but I have a impression that, if you are a programmer, you are just a programmer, you will not be expected to do some technical things or IT maintenance things. And it is more organize, not like working in KL, everything need to rush. And of course, more relax compare to KL. These are my impression as I have heard a lot of friends talking about it. And I remember that I read a thread about they don't have OT, it is the law, boss cannot ask you to work overtime, please confirm me with this?

Anyone can comment?
Plumbing construction

I have a degree in IT, but I don't seem to really fancy doing those programming stuff, my parents own a plumbing company which they do projects and maintenance stuff.

I am in dilemma between working as a programmer or work in my parents company and soon takeover the company.

If I choose to work as a programmer, as I said, I don't really enjoy coding those stuff, just ok, I just don't know how long I can stand it, my sister is working in software industry, she said that those programmer in her company always OT especially when deadline is coming, and a lot a lot a lot of work to do also, This makes me think twice if I really want to work as a programmer.

If I choose to work in my parents company, I will have to learn how to deal with those projects, basically, I have seen those tender drawing and been to the site. But haven't really get into a real project before. What I worry is that my IT background will not help me in this field and I will have to learn from 0, I really wonder if someone with no construction background can do this job?(I mean to manage the full project). The only bright side is that my parents will lead me for the first few years and give me some projects to follow, and they will still be my advisor when they retired.

I have heard a lot of peoples with no construction background doing these construction project and become very rich. I wonder what knowledge do I need in order to manage the project?

Satria GTI almost got stolen

Time: 4.38am
Date: 19/9/2009
Place: Taman Seputeh, KL

Description: I was at home, playing computer, I parked my car outside the house, and I heard my car alarm sounded for 3 sec, straight away, I picked my car key, and tried to press unlock/lock, to check whether the car alarm is still functioning. No suprise, there's no response from my car as normally, I press the key from 1 km, the car will also response(I parked my car just 50m away from my house). Then I saw 2 malay guy, 1 sitting inside my car driver seat, 1 outside my car facing driver seat, I guess they were trying to remove the steering locker. I shouted at them:"HEY!!!", running towards the car and wanted to see their car plate number, but they escaped once they saw me. (shouldn't have shout at them, sould have release my dog and go out and let my dog do the job and i attack them), anyway, they were driving a Satria GTI too, so i guess if anyone of you just lost a SGTI, then that must be yours.

Hari Raya is coming, they din't balik kampung but here to steal car, Curse them.
becareful of your car everyone, especially those driving SGTI!

Or must I install Windows in it? Which sounds so stupid(I know)?

MySQL import .sql

I have a MySQL database db.sql, inside includes query for creating database and tables, is there any query for php for me to import this db.sql into phpmyadmin automatically? I know the way of importing it manually.

Not a big problem, but would be better if anyone can help. My friend did it, but he "include("database.inc"), which is totally different with mine as mine is export from mysql.

Air con not cold during traffic jam

It seems that there's a lot of possibilities that a car air con will blow hot air during traffic jam,

mine with these symptoms...

After high rev session or maintain 3.5k rpm and above for a while, the aircon will blow some "vapour" out which is quite cool. I like it

But somehow when traffic jam under hot sun, HOT AIR will come out, so inside the car is even hotter than outside.

Any reasons for this?
