Buying used bike but it is on Aeon credit

Hi all, I am thinking of buying a secondhand bike but just found out that the bike is still under loan from Aeon credit.

summary:

seller: bike has a lien with Aeon.
me (buyer): cash purchase

I know if the bike has no lien it's just straight forward JPJ transfer. but in this case how is the procedure like? do I need to inform Aeon? do I need a clearance letter?

thanks in advance for you kind replies

Overtime Exploitation?

It has come to my attention that a relative of mine has signed on a contract with a bakery which appears to be exploiting him, requiring him to work OT consistently (3 - 6 hours each day) with no OT pay.

I took a look at his employment contract just now and there are some very suspicious clauses:

Hours of work: 6 days a week from 8pm to 6pm from Monday to Saturday
Overtime: Not entitled

He is rather new to the workforce and might have signed the contract not knowing what it means. That being said, I understand that contracts (such as housing contract) cannot be set in whatever terms and conditions with blatant disregard to the existing laws of the land. So I am wondering if the clauses in the contract is actually valid in this case?

He is getting paid only RM 1600 a month but is expected to clock in more than 12 hours a day for the past week. This cannot be right can it?

Appreciate any insight on this matter.

Thanks in advance

Perpendicular Parking Space: Head in or Butt in?

It came as a surprise to me that many in the United States are very strongly opposed to reversing into a parking space, going as far as to calling those who do so as douchebags. There are even laws in place that specifically state that drivers are not allowed to reverse in and offenders will be issued a ticket.

I am curious about the preferences and if possible, the reasons for choosing either.

WTF Paintshop for Myvi

Hi ladies and gentlemen , I have a black colour myvi that I need to fix some dent, broken clips on bumper, and maybe a layer or two of paint in the original black colour as it has faded and dulled with time. My usual paintshop is a little on the pricey side and the car owner wants me to source for a cheaper alternative.

So asking for recommendations of cheap and good (oh the oxymoronic nature of the request, but do indulge me) paint shops that can do the job. the car is in pj, but dun mind travelling a little bit to get it fixed (within reasonable distance ofcoz).

thanks in advance for the leads

Hi fellow lyners,

I am trying to create themes for Microsoft Powerpoint but has run into some problems.

Basically I have a jpeg file that I am using for the background of each slide and I want to save it wholesale as a .thmx file, but I have only managed to save those items that were originally in the Powerpoint programs in my .thmx file.

Any solution to save whatever is on the slide, pictures and all, as a theme?

Thanks in advance

Passing off old for new?

Hi network experts, i just bought a modem today from a shop and it appears that there are some weird settings on the computer.

example:
the SSID was some nasri thing and there is already a preset password

also, there is a DDNS section that is already set up to some CCTV at www.dyndns.com account.

I am not a network expert by any means but it seems that this is a preowned router being passed off as a new one by the shop.

am i right in my assumption?

Passing off fake as real

He did not reply and I hence did not reject.

I finally sent the set to checking and the result was that two of the controllers were fake. I told him on Tue and he replied me that the warranty is already over and that I should have checked it within the warranty period, and frankly was irresponsible in his reply.

QUOTE

hi there,

as i said,if u have any problem with the set,plz come back to me within 3 days, after which it is considered expired...i think i was clear in it...

three days is enuf for u to test the function and authencity of the product sold
(no grey line here)

as for u said that it ends at 6 pm today,i would like to ask u whether if u buy products from outside, the expiry is based on date or hours??
i guess u know the answer.

if u shud bring this matter to the dispute corner,i dont mind to explain there again..TQ

there are two issues I have here:

1) i do not think that its unfair of me to ask for the warranty extension consider the time and he did not reject.

2) this being the more serious, warranty covers for defects. i do not think it applied to those who sell fake as real to claim protection under warranty.

I have bought many things from many sellers here on lyn, honestly, i always operated on trust and I believe sellers who have dealt with me before can attest to my patient and understanding nature. so i hope to reach a reasonable solution for this fake item business.

WTA: buying new upright piano

Hello... I am looking to buy an upright piano for myself (adult beginner) and went to look at Young Chang Y131N1-BP, a 131cm costing around RM14k, also a Weber W131-BP at about RM16k.

a beginner here and buying one to learn so not too sure about these pianos. I read about listening for tones la, key touch la, etc... but seriously, as a beginner I cant really trust my judgement on such things. I intend to get a friend to go look see with me before I finally bite the bullet, but I need to shortlist to a few first and there is really not much info online regarding these two.

Any suggestions at all is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
