WTA Port forward

Hey guys, I want to know if I do port forwarding for this game would do any changes or lower the latency for the game. Last time I used to play this game, the latency wouldn't be at high as now. I'm using VIP 5, but my latency at least 200+. I've check portforward.com for details on how to do port forwarding on the router given by TM, but I notice that the firmware are different. Help from you guys will be much appreciated.
