Delayed offer letter

I would simply appreciate some feedback and maybe even some info from hopefully any other who might have experienced a similar situation.
Months back, I was offered a job in one of the international bankers, outside of KL. Told that offer letter was to be prepared in a month's time. Now it has been over 3 months since the successful interview, and I have called the manager of the branch a number of times regarding the delay. I understand the possibility of a typical year end slowdown in HR processing, manager of the branch mentioned as well about the bank revising a new loan plan. Now it's the new year, and I have just called the same guy and he has mentioned the HQ in KL has yet to provide him with an update. What I'd like to know is that, is there a possibility they will choose not to employ? Afterall, all I have at the moment is oral confirmation of the job by the branch manager 3 months ago.

will problems with my web browser affect my internet connection?because i think that is my problem atm.how do i fix this?i'm browsing using firefox...using windows xp sp2.

internet connection problem with laptop

i've had problems with my streamyx connection since friday evening.the thing is i can get connected,but accessing websites IS a problem.first 30mins,it is POSSIBLE to load the sites i want to go,but it is a pain ie SLOW,which isn't normal already in the first place.after approx. 30mins,every website i try to go,no matter how many times i refresh,i get a blank page and no loading at all.i can sign into instant messaging programs,but after 30mins++,i auto sign out and i can't sign in anymore.i reconnect my connection,same thing repeats itself.
i've tried connecting to the internet with the same modem and line but on a different pc,no such problem at all.so i guess the problem's with my laptop.someone help me with this problem?thanks.
