Myvi 1.3 Auto 2011 Reverse Gear Faulty

Hi Guys,

I am not able to use the Reverse gear anymore on my car. 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work and once it will jerk and move a bit. That's it.

The car is less than 3 years old so I brought it to Perodua for checking and they confirmed that gearbox is faulty. They said they need to remove the faulty gearbox and try putting in a test gearbox before confirming if a replacement is required. After that it will take them a week or more to file reports for the warrantly claim and another day for the actual replacement (if warranty claim is approved).

The problem now is that the last service I did with Perodua was at 60k while my car is now at 76k. And I also did not service at Perodua for 30k, 40k and 50k due to the price. I only changed the engine oil myself at these intervals so at the Perodua service record book, this shows as no service. Due to this, Perodua said my warranty claim for the gearbox may not be successful and I have to do it on my own.

My question now is, is Perodua within their rights to deny my warranty claim as I have done my last major service at 60k with them. According to their recommendation I should have done the next one at 70k but I didn't and currently the mileage is at 76k so they said that might have caused the gearbox to fail.

I really need some advice here. I can't afford to fork out any money for the replacement. Please give me some advise or ways to make sure Perodua will approve the gearbox replacement claim.

Thanks a lot.

If it's not free, let me know too.

Thanks.

Terminating Maxis Supp line

Hi,

My gf has a supplementary line with her ex bf. She wants to terminate this supp line and open one supp under me. The problem is, Maxis says that the supp line cannot be terminated without the Main Line's (i.e my gf's ex) approval. That idiot didn't want to terminate when I asked him.

Is there a way around this? How can the line be terminated? Why does Maxis have this policy? It's not like we're terminating the supp line for good. We're gonna open a new one... Maxis is not gonna lose any money over this..

Hope someone out there can help in this.

Thank you.

Network Engineer outsourced to iPerintis KLCC

I recently attended an interview at one of Cisco Gold Partner networking vendor company. The position that was offered to me is that of a Network Engineer that will be outsourced by that company to iPerintis at KLCC. My job would be to support end-users on site for Voice related devices (IP phones, CallManager, Voice Gateway, etc) and do some work related to firewalls.

The salary offered is RM4k. I have 1 year+ experience working with another Cisco Gold Partner vendor company.

While the salary is very high for a relative newcomer like me, I would like to know if there would be any opportunity for me to learn and improve my knowledge as well as skills should I take this job. I was told that outsourced Network Engineers generally do not learn much and the work that they do day-in and day-out are the same trivial stuff that anyone can do. If this is indeed true, then taking the offer would not be beneficial for me.

I'd appreciate it very much if anyone who knows about iPerintis working environment in KLCC could share some tips with me and advise me of the pros and cons of taking this offer. Please also tell me how are the people there, the amount of stress/pressure the employees face, the strictness, attitude of bosses towards outsourced staff, etc.

Thanks a lot

How to become a Network Consultant?

I just recently forayed into the working world and started my career as a Network Engineer. I would like to, one day, become a Network Consultant. The main motivation for me to choose this career path is because of the respect that the people in this line of work command also because of the big bucks they make.

Any professionals out there who is currently a Network Consultant or is working his/her way to becoming one, I hope you could guide me on how I could become one too.

I have a list of questions here:
1) How many years of working experience is needed before a Network Engineer (in Vendor company) can become a Network Consultant?

2) What qualifications should I possess before I can become a Network Consultant?
- What professional certs should I take? Are Cisco certs enough (CCNP, CCIE) or do I have to take certs by other Vendors too (BlueCoat, Packeteer, CheckPoint)?
- Do I need to take management certs like PMP, Prince, ITIL?
- Do I need to take a Masters degree (MBA?)?

3) What other technologies should I know about in order to be a good consultant?

4) What company can I join that would help me (gain the neccessary experience) to achieve my goal of becoming a Network Consultant?

These are the questions that are currently on my mind. I really hope any of you networking gurus can help me achieve my target. Thank you =)

Fresh Grad Network Engineer Salary in Vendor Comp.

Vendor network engineers often don't stay in office. They travel to client site to perform installation (router, switch, etc) or troubleshooting. And they work on devices made not only by Cisco but by other competitors such as Riverbed, BlueCoat, Packeteer, Juniper, etc as well.

I would like to know how much a Fresh grad working as a Network engineer in a vendor company such as HP, Mesiniaga, VADS, Datacraft, ets earns? How much is the basic pay? What allowances do they get and how much? If they get certifications like CCNP, CCSP, etc will their salary be increased or will they get more allowance (cert allowance)? Will the company sponsor them for trainings for certification? What other benefits are given to these Fresh grad network engineers?

Anyone who has worked at HP, Mesiniaga, VADS, Datacraft, etc, please help me by answering the above questions.

Thanks a lot.

Guide me (Post fracture recovery)

Recently, I had an accident and I fractured my hand. Now it's almost healed but there's still some pain when I try to do strenuous exercises.

Before the accident I weighed 67kg and was pretty well built (had been going to the gym for about a year). Then after the accident I was unable to weight-lift thus I had to stay away from the gym since. I got lazy and did not exercise at all after that.

Now, I have lost about 8kg and have developed a big tummy.

I want to start exercising again, lose my tummy and gain some muscle. Please guide me on how to go about it. What should I do? In order to lose the tummy do I have to do sit-ups and cardio exercise and lose more weight? Or should I start taking supplements (whey protein) and at the same time work out at the gym?

Please help. Thank you.
