Energy saving lights keeps on burning out early

Dear frens,

I would like some advice on what could cause energy saving lights lifespan to be short?
For eg : - need to change approx 3 months or less.

I've noticed also sometimes the bulb will flicker from time to time.

Upon taking out the faulty bulb, I noticed that the energy saving light looks black / burnt.

When I tried changing to normal bulb, it blows out within a matter of days.
I noticed the filament just "burst".

Could it be caused by a faulty switch?

Any suggestion / idea is welcome.

Why can't a USB modem be detected by using USB HUB

Hi,

I was just wondering as I'm short of usb outlets from my notebook, I tried using a usb hub as an alternative for the USB modem (for eg: maxis, celcom ,digi...etc).

But when i insert the modem using the usb hub, it can't work / detect even though the hub has a standalone power.

I just wondering why is this so?

Any explanation for this?

Placing cooling fan underneath the MB

Hi all,

Just would like to know, I've been browsing some threads in Apple Byte and found out that some of us are facing loud fan sound especially when playing streaming video like YouTube and so forth.

One question that i would like to ask is by placing a cooling fan (3rd party) - which is a quite common item now, will it make any difference to our MB (white MB)?
I noticed, not much ventilation outlet for it.
Any recommended brand or design?

Furthermore, I've been using it for quite sometime...any recommended place or outlet for me to send to for probably to clean the fan and internal dusts? I'm not confident in cleaning up myself.
