Hello guys, I'm doing a small research for my thesis and I'd like your perspectives and input on this issue.

1) What Malaysian apps do you frequently use?

2) What platform is it on?

3) What keeps you coming back to the app?

4) What suggestions would you make to said developer of the app that you frequent?

5) What apps will you be expecting in the near foreseeable future?

Hi! I'm very curious about the human psychological side. I made this thread to actually share what I have learnt and I am also asking others to contribute.

What I truly mean is that, if you know any form of psychological and/or social phenomenons that intrigues you, please share it.

I will start off by sharing an effect called "The Bystander Effect".

For example;

We have this mentality that, we Malaysians do not help others in a time of crisis or emergency. Many people would rather stand and watch than help. However this misconception otherwise known as the "Typical Malaysian", happens not only in this country, but many others.

Wiki quote, "The bystander effect is a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are present. The probability of help is inversely related to the number of bystanders."

Alright, HI!

I'll cut straight to the chase.

In all honesty, I was just opting to choose for a Macbook Pro. 13' but I would like to ask for other suggestions with comparable notebooks in the market.

Specs for the Macbook.

13-inch: 2.9 GHz
2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
8GB 1600MHz memory
750GB 5400-rpm hard drive1
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Built-in battery (7 hours)2.

Thing is, the reason for this is because I am travelling and studying overseas next year.

So here I am taking the initiative to learn more.

I would like to specify what I need,

-The laptop has to have a fast start up
- Able to handle audio and video programs including burning/rendering at reasonable hours.
- Lasting battery life (3-4 +- )
-

and if possible,
- International warranty especially Australia.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Yes its for gaming, but also for me to do some future video editing/ indesign etc.

Gaming > Video Editing though.

My target is an avg of 50-55fps on a modern game. GTAIV, BF3 etc
Acceptable levels of rendering for videos, editing etc.
