question about maxis broadband packages

I recently did a speedtest from my dad's home, and I've got 20mbps for a 30mbps package. I raised this issue with my dad, but he said that for a 30mbps package, it's 20mbps download + 10mbps upload? I've never heard of internet plans that packages its plans as cumulative download+upload speed. Granted, I've not been living in Malaysia for awhile now, so this is news to me. What the heck is going on?

STEAM/Humblebundle and Maybank Mastercard issue

Not sure if anyone else has this problem.

I've been getting a weird issue with my Maybank Mastercard (debit) lately.

For unknown reasons, my card often gets declined when purchasing from STEAM and Humblebundle, even when I have the available funds to complete the transaction. Yes, I've called Maybank, and have had all restrictions removed.

Now, here comes the weird part. For every transaction that was declined, Maybank puts 2 pre-authorization holds. So, for example, if I purchase something a game for $10, card gets declined, transaction fails, and i get 2 pre-authorization holds totalling $20.

To make matters worst, STEAM support says no purchase has been made, thus there is no transaction number. The bank says that the transaction was not declined, and thus I should contact STEAM. f*** ME RIGHT?

This has happened 12 times since May 2014. The first 6 transaction made in May was finally refunded in July (2 bloody months).

My other transactions made in August are still on pre-authorization hold, and I'm still waiting for maybank (f*** them) to get it sorted.

At the same time, due to the fact that this issue also happened when I tried making purchases from Humble Bundle suggests that the issue lies within Maybank itself.

I would advise everyone who has used Maybank's debit card to purchase, regardless to which merchant, and has their card declined, to bloody make sure that they have refunded your pre-authorization holds.

Malaysia set to have 100% high school graduates

After a tip-off from a concerned unnamed government official, it seems that the Malaysian government could be set to motion the removal of English language as a compulsory subject to pass in local examinations.

"I think this is the besterest way to ensure everybody including our kampungs have good edumacation." said the unnamed official. "You see that after changing science and maths from England language to Malay language, the number of graduating students have increased by so much, [the Malaysian government] had to build many many more local universities for them."

When asked if this move could implicate a poor command of the English language from our next generation of students, he is convinced that this would not be an issue. "That would be quite unpossible. As promised in the NEP signed in 1971, it is the responsibility of our government to ensure equality and opportunity for all. That is why they are building more universities for everybody and sending our besterest overseas for a complete edumacation program where they can improve their England language also."

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also acting Education Minister, was surprised and had no realization that English was not a compulsory subject. Instead he has asked the public to help him decide on this matter.

“It could have been worse.”Minstery of Works' president Dato' Sharizan explained.

It appears that Prime Minister Najib has expressed deep concern over the collapse, especially when the race to control Terengganu has been extremely fierce and competitive amongst opposition parties. A disaster of this magnitude, if it ever occurs during a football game, would have killed over 50,000 UMNO supporters. Such loss could turn tides in the next election.

Speaking towards the press and curious onlookers, Dato' Sharizan and his team of nameless engineers, architects, personal aides, stadium shareholders, and other cameos, issued an official government statement.

“Rest assured, we will investigate this thoroughly, with no stones left unturned. ” Sharizan announced. “As of right now, our forensic experts are compiling reports, and filing it along with other priority cases we are solving including the collapse of Penang's ferry terminal bridge in 1988, Highland Towers in 1993, Karak Highway landslide in 1995, and Ampang landslides in 2008 and the most recent implosion of Jaya Supermarket.”

It is not yet known how long the investigation will take, but Dato’ Sharizan guarantees that there will be names of individuals to blame within the week.

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) head coach K. Rajagopal is unhappy with the collapsed stadium in Terengganu coupled with the latest FIFA ranking official report. “It is a sad day indeed,” said FAM's head coach K. Rajagopal. “Our players were very eager to represent our great nation in the World Cup finals of 2014.”

“Looking at the latest FIFA rankings, we are better than 44 countries”, Rajagopal remarks proudly. “The juxtaposition is clearly evident . England's national football team, currently ranked 6th in the world, failed to qualify for EURO 2008. Whereas, Malaysia on the other hand, finished third in the 2007 ASEAN Football Championship.”

“Obviously that puts us in the top 5 and we are currently petitioning to FIFA to make necessary corrections to the list.”

The Malaysian government, who has been hiding from the media due to recent political scandals, welcomes change as they announced their first H1N1 victim. Perak BN members were seen shopping with families and as they relished their new found freedom away from the press.

In Putrajaya today, Prime Minister Najib, along with health officials who were in bio-chemical suits, confirmed the discovery. While refusing to comment on the recent political scandals, Prime Minister Najib was adamant of the H1N1 threat, and warns the public to seek medical help as soon as flu like symptoms appear . Winding up the official press conference, he assured Malaysians that the government will do anything in its power to help those who are in need; just like BN has since May 13th 1969.

Prime Minister Najib is expected to head back into his private office to complete his letter of recommendation for the title "Datuk", to our first H1N1 victim, citing his fearlessness and unselfish act of bravery. Tomorrow, the PM, along with several ranking officials including Hishamuddin, Samy Vellu, Ong Tee Keat, Chief Justice Mohamad Zaki Yasin and their families, are expected to fly to a remote location in the Pacific as they discuss plans on dealing with H1N1.

"A remote village, population 100, with clear ocean waters, reefs, and acres of natural beauty, is obviously the best choice of a location where we can sit down with our fishing hat, and discuss matters of national security." said Samy Vellu. Abdul Razak Baginda is also expected to join them.

Transferring to University of British Columbia

Has anyone applied or has been accepted to UBC with credits transferred from the American Degree Program (Taylor's), AUP (Inti) or equivalent?

I hear that they can be very picky on the subjects that can be transferred over. It's impossible to tell unless you've submitted an application, because only then will they review your transcript. Unfortunately, applications are closed until probably next year.

I can understand that it's impossible to have 100% credits transferred, but if it's leaning towards 60-75% transferable credits, then I'm settled.

DIY iPod Speakers

What you need

4x Paper Cups
2x Toothpicks
1x Earphones (provided along with your iPod or any other)
Blade or box cutter

Steps
1. On the underside of 2 cups, use a box cutter to cut a cross in the center of the cup. Cross should be long enough to fit an earpiece through and securing it. This will be your speakers.
2. For a stand, use the sharp end of a toothpick to poke through the underside of the other 2 paper cups, and then securing your new speakers onto it.

hi guys, i just bought this game 2 days ago, and it's awesome mind you. Today Nov 4th around 10pm, I've tried logging into my lvl 70 mage but my character screen is empty. I checked my subscription and it's still active. Just early today, my character was fine because I was pvping in Affleck Valley. Is this a bug?
