Disable any scrolling completely

How to disable scrolling? especially by middle mouse click.

I am developing a side scrolling website with jquery.
So from here, I want the users to scroll with the provided buttons only, and I need to disable all other ways to scroll because it screws the page alignment.

[addedon]August 16, 2011, 2:47 am[/addedon]Also, middleclick is needed for clicking and opening a link into a new tab, so I need a way to disable scrolling with the middle click but not disable the clicking function.

I've met people that can't be talked out of it, even when you show them documentation that debunks this myth.

Secondly, as for the "Overweight" thing, we're discovering that people that are obese have a huge list of differences in biology than that of the "Thin Person".

Trauma Survivors tend to put on weight OR go anorexic in response to the trauma in childhood. Meaning, a LLOOTT of the people you see on Discovery Health Channel in "Obesity Clinics" were raped or beaten or SEVERELY emotionally/mentally abused as children. This is documented quite extensively in the annals of psychiatry and addiction medicine. Going hand in hand with the trauma isn't just the psychological reaction to it but also the GENETIC reaction to trauma in childhood.

Google up "BBC Horizon The Ghost In Your Genes" AND "PBS Nova Epigenetics" and learn about how a parent TREATS their child and what it is exposed to alters their DNA in positive and negative ways. Everything from Hair Color to risk of diabetes to cancer risk to obesity risk is involved.

They took two litters of mice. 1 was from a "Normal" mother and 1 was from a "Depressed" mother. (Don't ask me how they could tell the mouse was depressed.) They swapped litters between the two mothers and recorded the results. Genetically, they were unrelated to the parents yet the "Depressed" mother ended up with unhealthy offspring while the "Normal" mother had perfectly healthy offspring. The way they were TREATED by their "Adopted Mommy" changed them down to the genetic level.

It is easy to form a connection between our lack of Family Stability in the US to the rise in obesity, cancer, diabetes, addiction, mental illness, etc.

More abuse = More unhealthy people.

♥ 1 in 4 children under the age of 14 is abused in the US.
♥ 1 in 5 women over the age of 14 are raped.
♥ 2000 children disappear EVERY DAY in the US.
♥ 35% of the population has the series of genetic factors that make up "The Addiction Gene".
♥ 30,000+ people kill themselves each year.
♥ 60% of marriages fail.
♥ It is more common to find Single Parents or "Step Parents" than children living with two biological parents.
♥ We have a selfish culture that allows parents to justify implicitly abusing their children.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

ALLLLLLL of that leads to a culture that fosters chaos and abuse... And we're surprised that things are getting worse on ALL fronts, health included?

Hormonal and Genetic Considerations need to be taken into account on top of the alterations in the Epigenome.

The brains of Obese people are hardwired like those of Addicts. And the same way that Alcoholics crave Booze AND need to consume more alcohol to be "Satisfied", obese people with this brain biology need a lot more food for the "Satiety Centers" of the brain to be activated.

To simplify things: If they put two people in FMRI Scanners, 1 obese and 1 "Normal Weight" and feed them cookies, the "Normal Weight" person will have their Satiety Centers and Hormonal Release activated after 2 cookies while the obese person will require 4 or more for the same biologic reaction to take place.

Google "PBS NOVA ScienceNOW Obesity"
"In this video segment adapted from NOVA scienceNOW, learn about obesity and how both genetics and behavior play a role in its development. Obesity researchers Sadaf Forooqi, Stephen O'Rahilly, and Jeffrey Friedman discuss the physiological basis of appetite regulation, including the roles of the hormone leptin, which suppresses hunger, and the melanocortin 4-receptor, or MC4R, which processes the message to control appetite. The relative importance of a healthy diet and exercise is also emphasized."

This is a COMPLICATED topic and calling things "Black and White" when so very many divergent factors are involved only results in more bigotry against those that are not thin.

Read more: 6 Lies About the Human Body You Learned in Kindergarten | Cracked.com http://www.cracked.com/article_19296_6-lie...l#ixzz1TcPDBDl0

wow, 1/5 of women were raped, 2000 children disappear everyday in the US.
i hope i don't live there any time soon.

so i'll just tag this as Hi-Fi since there isnt a speaker choice.
anyway

my team n i will be making a speaker out of used materials (yeah its an assignment, gotta use only used items. such). so we're thinking about making it out of wood and cardboard.
yea i know it pretty much sounds like it'll suck, maybe it will.
thats the problem im concerned about, and wanting to consult you all.

1: will the material of the enclosure affect greatly on the sound quality?.
2: its really flimsy, anyone who had made a speaker enclosure before that can point us to the right direction?

sound quality is not really the main concern here, but the build quality is. however i feel more compelled to ask about it rather than the material used.
so, guides?. or anything?.
