Freehold vs leasehold

all this while i have been searching for freehold landed property and no doubt the price is always higher as compared to leasehold property. if i were to purchase for my own stay, is it advisable to go for leasehold 99 years in shah alam? what will happen in future? any chance of it being converted to freehold? arghhh!
