Hishammuddin trolling Agong

http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysi...-still-illegal/

Despite royal audience, Hisham says Bersih still illegal

PUTRAJAYA, July 6 — Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein insisted today that Bersih is still outlawed, saying that neither an audience with the King nor relocating the July 9 rally to a stadium could turn the electoral reforms movement legal.

However, the home minister said that Bersih could still apply for a permit for the July 9 gathering using “other methods.”

“No, they are still banned, still illegal. Nobody can be above the law. Just because Tuanku met them, doesn’t mean they are no longer illegal,” he said, referring to the audience granted by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to Bersih yesterday, after which it accepted the stadium offer.

“They don’t have to apply on the platform of Bersih itself,” he said of the coalition of 62 NGOs which has accepted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s offer to hold the rally in a stadium.

He explained that the organisation was still deemed illegal by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) under advice from the Attorney-General and would remain so unless the Registrar said otherwise. The Registrar had said last week that Hishammuddin ordered Bersih to be outlawed.

Hishammuddin (picture) added that this meant that Bersih t-shirts were still unlawful and the law would still apply to over a hundred already arrested in relation to the planned march on Saturday.

However, he said that should Bersih be successful in its application to meet in a stadium on Saturday, the government would facilitate the gathering.

“Of course, we will allow. The whole point is to allow them to air their grievance. This should be looked at as a positive way forward,” he said.

Hishammuddin added that this meant that yellow Bersih t-shirts were still unlawful and the law would still apply to over a hundred already arrested in relation to the planned march on Saturday.

“This is still related to an illegal activity. We are consistent with applying the law,” he said.

The police have continued making arrests in connection with the rally, most of them for wearing yellow T-shirts with the word Bersih emblazoned on them in a clampdown that has also seen Bersih being declared illegal.

But Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin stepped in on Sunday to defuse tension by advising the Najib administration and Bersih 2.0 to hold consultations over the issue of free and fair elections.

My Omnia 7 review

Hi fellas,

I just bought myself an Omnia 7 from Maxis about 9 days ago at RM 1,799 and here's my brief review of the phone itself, AND Windows Phone 7.

Hardware:
The Good:
- Solid build with a metal-like feel. Some places say it's actually metal body, but I have my reservations But it's solid
- Super AMOLED screen is REALLY nice.
- Very slim, and fits comfortably in my hand.
- Clean and sleek

The Bad:
- Battery life OK despite the 1500 mAh batt. Moderate usage will last me about 10 hours, brightness on medium with wifi on.
- Super AMOLED screen had a dead pixel on, and I had to send it to Samsung on the 2nd day I purchased the phone On the other hand, Samsung took only 24 hours to replace the display
- Touch sensitive Back and Search buttons are ANNOYING. Accidental touches are very common. Tactile buttons would've been better.
- Camera gets choppy when doing video recording in HD.

WP7 related:
The Good:
- Metro UI is very smooth, and user friendly.
- Voice command is very accurate, and works quite well even in moderately noisy environment.
- People hub is fantastic. It really does let you get in and out of your cyber networking life in a jiffy.
- I.E is much better in WP7 than the one in WM6.5.x. Tabbed browsing is smooth and fast
- Virtual keyboard is incredibly good. It's one of the smartest keyboard I've ever seen, can't fight with swype though.
- Messaging is clean. I guess this can be both good and bad
- Easy integration with social networking hubs as well as e-mails.
- "Find My Phone" feature works really well.
- MS Office is well done, but is can be too simplistic for advanced productivity use.
- Easy apps/games management through Metro UI.

The Bad:
- No Smartdial
- No folders or drafts option in Messaging
- Calender and its live tile needs improvement, and more options
- Stupid marketplace does not tell you which apps/games you had already purchased
- Cannot turn off shutter shutter click, even lowering volume to 0 still produces shutter click (come on... how am I going to snap pictures of random hot girls without them knowing?)
- Camera does not save settings, so you will need to change the settings again every time you start up the camera (Supposedly fixed in Mango)
- No custom ringtones (to be fixed in Mango?)
- No alphanumeric support for lock screen (to be fixed in Mango)
- No MSN messenger (to be fixed in Mango)
- Complicated synchronization setup with Outlook -> MSN/Hotmail
- VERY BUGGY contacts synchronization between phone <->MSN Live
- Some apps tend to be laggy.
- No power management!!!! (Mango??)
- No file management, stupid Microsoft...

The Ugly:
- Wifi through WPA tend to be VERY unstable, with frequent speed slowdowns and sometimes even full stops.
- USSD function does not work as GSM standard dictates!! WTF????
- Horrible Bluetooth functions!!! I can even say this feature is defunct! You can't send/receive ANYTHING through Bluetooth, you can only pair a headset and THAT'S IT!

Conclusion:
This phone seems to be in beta mode, and it really makes you feel like a guinea pig with many incomplete features, even after NoDo. I haven't even included the single worst selling point for WP7 in M'sia, which is the unavailability of Marketplace. If you're dumb enough to set your WP7's location as "Malaysia" then you might as well buy Nokia 3310.

On the other hand, with the upcoming Mango update, this seems to be a promising platform, and it's sooo much less confusing to run apps/games compared with the cluttered grid setup in Android and iPhone. And most of the time, I don't even bother looking for the app, just use voice command "Open Fruit Ninja" or "Find The Star" and it runs what you want. I'd say the voice command feature is one of the best things on this phone.

So unless you have money to throw, or you're just really excited about Metro UI (which is going to be the next big thing because Windows 8 is going to be built based on that), I advise you wait for the Mango release (which is scheduled for October) before parting with your cash. You will probably also see a price drop by then.

Why is this post deleted?

The following post have been deleted with no reasons whatsoever. Am I not posting facts? Or is covering up facts standard procedure? Why are some people allowed to post about the Penal Code, while posting about the Constitution of Malaysia not allowed?

*************************************************************

QUOTE(BlurSotong @ Apr 14 2011, 12:54 AM)

Peeping is a criminal offence in Malaysia, punishable with imprisonment term which may extend to five years or more. Further discussions on how to peep will get you penalised.

Read up: Chapter XXII: Criminal intimidation, insult and annoyance. Section 509 Penal Code. Laws of Malaysia. International Law Book Series, 1990. No wonder women are so quick to utter words, make sounds or gestures or exhibit objects which insults the modesty of men.

QUOTE(BlurSotong @ Apr 14 2011, 12:54 AM)

NO! Leering, staring and admiring is freaking different.

Revealing or not, it does not give a 'right' to leer and ogle at any woman!

The girl may knowingly dressing in certain manner and attracting unwanted attention but it still does not anybody a right to leer at her!! The hell?!?!?

Yes it does. Article 10.1(A) of the Constitution of Malaysia grants me the right to ogle at any woman, just as it grants you the right to dress up all nice and pretty.

Luckily I came back before the whole house burnt down or she took her eye out.

Seriously... some people don't know how to spell disaster...

So please don't sleep if your stove is on, and don't sleep with sharp objects on your bed.

WMWifiRouter setup

Hi all

I just installed WmWifiRouter 2.00 on my Acer S200, and I can't seem to get the darn thing to work as intended. So what I did was chose the data setting to use, then named my Wifi network (ad-hoc as required by the application) with no encryption for testing. The other devices (like my lappy and my other pda) detects the network, but after connecting, it gets an IP address of 169.x.x.x and I there are no internet connections. I've double checked the DHCP service on WMWifiRouter and it is on.

Even though I changed the IP manually to 192.168.3.xx (that's the subnet of WMWifiRouter), I can't ping the gateway IP itself (192.168.3.1).

Has anyone ever gotten WMWifiRouter to work? And if yes, mind teaching me how you did it?

Thanks.

edit: Done some additional testing. Apparently I can't even ping the device from itself (ping 192.168.3.1 failed). Makes me wish there's ipconfig on the WM sometimes...

[addedon]October 11, 2010, 4:04 pm[/addedon]Ok, found out what the problem was. Apparently, there's a patch that needs to be applied to the S200 regarding Ad hoc authentication. Now I can ping the S200 from a remote device but can't get onto the internets. I'm guessing it's a DNS issue.

So like this dude called me ok, he called me. And basically this is how the conversation went:

*Phone rings*
Me: (picks up and say) Hello.
Him: Uhh.... yeah.
Me: Yes, hi.
Him: Umm....
Me: Yes, I heard you, what's up?
Him: *starts talking*

Like wtf? you don't call people up and say "Umm... yeah". Ok another scenario, girl calls me:

Me: Hello
Her: Hi
Me: Wassup?
Her: Do you know who I am?
Me: Nope (actually I do, but I pretend like I don't know)
Her: How can you not know who I am? That means my don't remember my voice boo hoo
Me: That's because you didn't tell me who you are. You're supposed to identify yourself when you call people up. Only teenagers say things like "Do you know who I am?"
Her: *merajuk liao*

No wonder M'sia is top of the charts when it comes to being rude.

Cane the women!

Seriously, women should learn how to take beatings the way it is metted out to them. It's not so much that they think they're frail or whatever and thus should be exempted, but they think just because they're wimminz that's why they should be exempted is EXACTLY why they should be caned. Take that punishment like a man!!!

http://www.mysinchew.com/node/35403?tid=

MCA views with concern the caning that was meted out against the three Muslim women recently and the disturbing trend of syariah law enforcement in our country. .

While MCA accepts that syariah laws are personal laws and syariah jurisdiction applies to Muslims only, its application should in no event contravene the Federal Constitution.

It is well known that Section 289 of the Penal Code forbids the caning of women. Corporal punishment towards women is inhumane and degrading in nature.

The apparent dual criminal justice system now is most unsatisfactory. It serves to confuse the rakyat, and the disparity in criminal justice enforcement arising from whether one is a Muslim or a non-Muslim is most undesirable. This may be seen as an alarming development that sends a wrong signal about our criminal justice system.

MCA laments the speedy and stealthy manner of the caning cases by the relevant law enforcement authority has conveyed a distasteful impression of our criminal justice system, especially when the same is conducted at a time the suitability of caning of women has been widely debated following the Kartika case.

MCA maintains its position that supremacy of the Federal Constitution whereupon Article 8 reads that there should be no discrimination on the basis of gender therefore equality for all, including equality towards Muslim women must be upheld.

Further, Malaysia is a member country that ratifies the international Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination (CEDAW) covenants. We have a duty to uphold the international covenants to eliminate all forms of inequality against women. The caning of women has also attracted negative international attention and inevitably tarnish our image as a plural multi-racial country.

Gan Ping Sieu
MCA Spokesperson
MCA Political Education Bureau Chairman
Kuala Lumpur
19 Feb 2010
