PS3 controller faulty because of Water!

Sigh, a few hours ago I accidentally spilled water on my PS3 controller....
Darn it messed up the L3 analog stick and some other things!!!!
So what I'm asking is are there any ways to solve this issue other than buying a new controller :-(
I don't wanna send my controller all the way to SG for warranty purposes since my PS3 is a SG set...
If I were to bring it to a game shop for repair, will it be expensive???

Will my PS3 Slim get overheated in this case?

Uhhh first of all, I'm not sure whether this topic has been created before, and so I apologize if it has been opened before!! I tried the SEARCH function and it doesn't really show the results I want to.... So here goes!!!

I'm placing my PS3 Slim horizontally against a wooden table with a piece of glass on it... The problem is whenever I check the console, the bottom part of it will be very hot!! Especially the glass surface, it's even worse!!! So I was thinking will it actually bring trouble to my PS3 Slim if I were to use it that way in a long-run??? I don't really want my PS3 Slim to get KO'ed so soon...
