I bought a logitech wireless keyboard, but my Sony TV does not detect it. My sony tv is a smart tv (not android tv), the one that has dedicated youtube and Netflix button on the remote. I want to use wireless keyboard so that easier to browse and search youtube. Has anyone managed to get a wireless keyboard to work with a sony smart TV? If yes, can you share the make/model?

Buying HyppTV box separately

My HyppTV box has spoilt. It was the first generation grey/silver coloured one. I wanted to replace the HyppTV box, called TM, they said they can replace it for free, but TM will renew my contract for 2 years. I am not sure if I want to renew my contract with TM or not, especially when Maxis just announced their 100mbps broadband for only RM129, which is much cheaper than what I am currently paying unifi now. I am currently on 100mbps unifi with HyppTV package included.

TM said I can buy the HyppTV box from them (with no contract), but quite expensive around RM300-400 i think. Just wondering, can I buy the HyppTV box from outside myself? or from someone who wants to let go of their HyppTV box...will it work if I connect to my router? Where can I buy the HyppTV box (other than from TM)?

Sony TV - not able to connect to 5G wifi

I have the Sony TV KDL-50W660F, which is a 2018 model. This is a smart TV, and I am able to connect my wifi using 2.4Ghz.

Recently I upgraded my unifi to 100mbps, and the TM technican advised me to start using 5G wifi to get the higher 100mbps speed. Right enough, if I use the existing 2.4Ghz wifi, the speed is capped to 50mbps only. If I switch to my 5G wifi (on my laptop, phones, tablets etc), I get 100mbps.

The problem is, my Sony TV can only detect and connect to wifi on 2.4Ghz frequency. My wifi in 5G is not detected at all. So my TV is only getting 50mbps internet speed, even though i have 100mbps. I wanted the max speed of 100mbps to enjoy faster streaming of netflix and youtube. I mean, that's one of the reasons why I upgraded to 100mbps anyway.

Can your TV connect to wifi using 5G frequency? Does anyone know how to make a smart TV to detect and connect to wifi using 5G frequency?

Step-by-step guide on how to trade shares online

I would like buy some shares in Bursa Malaysia, preferably buying and selling shares via online. I have read some of the threads in this forum, and there is sooo much information, I am a bit overloaded and confused a bit. Is there a simple step-by-step guide on how to start trading shares online? Here is from what I understand (and dont understand) so far:

Format: <Action Item> - <Reasons or other info>

1. Open a CDS Account - Need a CDS account to pay(?) for the shares that will be bought? Can open account in CDS Maybank but trade in CIMB's or better to open CDS account at the bank you want to trade?
2. Appoint a remiser - if want to buy/sell shares online, do i still need to appoint remiser? How to appoint?
3. Create an account at one of the online shares trading such as OSK188 or CIMS's iTrade - this is where the online trading will take place
4. Select which shares you want to monitor - use the site tools
5. Submit offer / purchase - use the site tools I assume
6. Pay for the shares - how to pay?

Is my understanding above correct? I think there are still many things I dont understand. Could someone correct or update the step-by-step guide above? Fyi, I do not plan to do margin financing. I only plan to purchase shares where I can pay in full. Thanks in advance.

Best HDTV for watching astro and SD content

I'm looking for a secondary TV for my family room / area. This TV will not be used a lot (not as often as the primary TV), and will mostly for watching astro (byond but also non-HD astro channels) and other SD content like old DVDs etc. I dont think we will spend much time watching blu-rays or 1080p movies on this particular TV. So because of that, I'm thinking of just getting an entry-level or mid-range HDTVs for this.

I have never owned a plasma before, so I'm quite keen to try plasma. I know plasma need low light for best performance, and the screen is quite reflective. The family room has a window, but a bit far from the Tv area. Because its a family room, we will not be switching off the lights to watch tv. Room lighting will be normal downlight room lighting. Not sure if this is a good setup for plasma or not. 3D not needed, as both me and my wife gets headaches watching 3D movies. Internet TV is nice to have, especially those that can mirror screen from smartphones for sharing content with other family members.

Theoretically, a 720p TV should be best for watching astro and SD content. I've checked a few 720p plasma TV like the Panasonic 50" TH-P50XT50K plasma, but the PQ is not that great (I brought a thumbdrive with some SD, 720p and 1080p movie to test at these TVs). Maybe its because I was comparing it with a mid-level Sony LED TV which I tested at the same time, so there is a noticeable difference in PQ. Other brands like LG and Samsung also have entry-level 50" plasma, but I haven't really tested these models yet.

So what would you recommend for the "best" or most value for money HDTV with reasonably good PQ for this purpose?

Do I activate my second ipad using the same laptop with itunes already installed for my first ipad?
Using blackberry overseas

I'll be going overseas soon and planning to take my blackberry with me. I'm concerned with high data and roaming charges while using my blackberry overseas. My blackberry plan is a corporate line given by my company, and I don't want to use my office SIM card (with blackberry plan) on my personal overseas trip. My plan is to buy a pre-paid SIM card at the visiting country to use over there.

If I do this, my questions are:

1. How do I DISABLE my push email (i.e. my office email) so that my office work does not bother me when I am on my holidays? This is also to avoid high roaming charges. I also do NOT want to receive my office email when I'm connected using wifi (if this is possible).

2. I also have my personal yahoo email setup as push email on my blackberry. While overseas, is there a way I can disable my office push email, but have my yahoo email pushed to my blackberry using wifi?

3. How do I DISABLE my BBM so that all bbm contacts (especially my staff and my boss) can't bother me when I am on my trip?

4. I still want to use the blackberry for surfing internet and using the facebook app. I can use wifi to access internet and facebook, right?

5. If I buy a pre-paid card with 3G data plan at the visiting country, can I use 3G to surf internet and access facebook app?

6. Since I will be using my blackberry overseas using a SIM card purchased at the visiting country, just want to confirm, all my phone contacts, office email settings and bbm contact will still be there right?

Thanks.

Ways to mirror the iPad 2 display on regular TV

The iPad 2 can mirror its display to an LCD/HD TV via the HDMI Digital AV adapter. But how do I make the Ipad 2 to mirror the display on a normal / standard definition TV? I've been researching on this, and it seems like there is two methods:

Option 1 = Buy an iPad VGA Adapter (note that this is the old ipad1 adapter, not the HDMI/Digital AV version). Based on the reviews in Apple store, seems like the VGA adapter will mirror everything on iPad2. So if I buy this adapter and connect this to my iPad 2, I would also need to purchase a VGA to RCA (yellow, red and white) composite cable to connect it to my TV. My question is, will this work? Has anyone tried this / can anyone confirm this?

Option 2 = Buy an Apple Composite AV Cable and connect directly my iPad 2 to TV. This seems to be much simpler and cheaper. The problem with this is that the review said it might not work, or it might only display video, and not mirror the entire iPad2 to the TV. Has anyone tried this / can anyone confirm that this cable can mirror the iPad 2 display on regular TV?

Are there any other options that I may have missed? Has anyone successfully mirror the iPad2 display on a regular TV?

Laptop screen flicker every few seconds...help

I have a weird problem with my laptop screen, it would flicker / blink about every 5 seconds. I've taken a short video of the problem:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBtqXO1HSDU

But the thing is, most of the time the screen is stable and normal. The flickering / blinking would normally happen after I resume from hibernation or switched on for the first time. I checked the mobo and CPU temperature of the laptop, and all seemed normal (around 40 degrees celcius). Any idea what could be the problem, and how to solve it?

How customizable is Blackberry's home screen?

I'm currently using a Windows Mobile (WM) phone, but thinking of getting the Bold 9700. The thing is, I'm so used to the (very) customisable nature of a Windows Mobile, especially the home screen. I have a few questions on Blackberry:

1. Can I customise the home screen to display my appointments and tasks? Attached is my current Windows Mobile home screen, can BB do something similar?

2. If I cant do the above, how would I access or display my appointments and tasks? There are appointment and tasks in Blackberry, right?

3. The main attraction of BB is the push email. But sometime, ignorance is bliss. When I'm on leave or on holiday, I dont want to my office emails to come in (and with it, all office issues and spoil my holiday). Can I disable the BB's push email? How easy it is to do this? Do I have to go so many layers down menus? In WM, I just set the schedule in ActiveSync to manual, and it stops all emails from coming in. Can I do similar with BB?

4. Are there lots of BB apps for home screen customisation and BB themes? Can you post your BB home screen?

Thanks.

[attachmentid=1582522]

Step by step guide on how to sell a car with loan

I have a car that I wish to sell direct to individual buyer. My car was purchased on 7 year loan, now still have 2 years balance left. The buyer will be buying my car using bank loan as well. I've search the internet on the process to sell a car, such as this thread:

http://www.motortrader.com.my/asp/forum/to...?TOPIC_ID=23082

But I am still not clear, or maybe does not exactly fit my scenario above. So I've written the process in step by step (according to my understanding so far), and my questions. Here goes:

1. I advertise my car
2. A buyer decides to buy, and they buyer proceed to apply for bank loan

Ok, I know only up to here. From here onwards, I'm not too sure:

3. What's next? Do I need to provide documents for buyer to apply bank loan? Which documents?
4. After buyer's loan is approved, what then?
5. I proceed with puspakom inspection (or should I do this earlier? how long is the validity?)
6. After getting letter of undertaking from buyer's bank, I go to JPJ with buyer to change ownership?
7. Buyer submit change of ownership documents to bank, and bank release payment to me, correct?
8. But how do the buyer's bank settle my outstanding loan?
11. I handover my car to buyer
12. Me and buyer sign indemnity letter
13. Both happy, hopefully.

Hope someone could help to correct me or fill in some of the process and steps above. Thanks.

[addedon]November 28, 2009, 11:41 am[/addedon]Anyone?
