Bad Experience- Spa Access Membership

Hi Ladies,

I bought the RM200 membership last year. It was a disappointment. I manage to use some vouchers but at the moment the company selling this membership is like MIA. Unable to contact them. So if any dispute or service needed, they can't fulfill. At that time I had some disposable $ so didn't think properly. Now I felt it is quite a waste, since many beauty centers and credit cards have promotions far better than what this Spa Access offers.

1. There are some products sold at Sasa. Anyone tried and it work?
2. How about the Slimfit company? They advertise a lot in papers but it is the typical beauty center scams? Anyone tried?
3. Got this Brava vest thing. Not cheap plus have to wear for long hours. If really work can consider also. Anyone tried?

PS: No talks about bras pls...just keen to make breasts slightly bigger. Worse case go operation in future...but that's very scary option

I met a man once with his wife at the airport. We exchanged pleasantries, and name cards. And some e-mails about general topic and mutual business interest.

They seems to be near retiring age. Anyhow, this man explains that his wife went back to her hometown to take a break from him (not sure if this means they quarreled or he was saying in joking manner). He says he also decided to take a break and will like to visit KL again and Vietnam.

The thing is, we have been casually discussing about the business opportunity in China. He often say he needs a Chinese speaking person to make it easier to hunt for deals there. Now he asked if I will be his tour guide to China- all expense paid. He also touched again on the business aspect in China.

My guts sense told me NO- so I replied saying I will be busy in June (which is true) and declined the offer. But on another note, I must say I am quite tempted That is why I am asking for opinions here.

1. If his wife is around I will definitely consider.
2. If it is partially a business opportunity hunting trip (though of course leisure is more in his mind, I think), why would he offer to pay for my trip. We should pay for ourselves, right?

I am wondering which possibility is higher; he trusted me enough to be his guide to China and he can afford to pay for my share or he is more likely to be a rich businessman who quarreled with his wife and is now looking for a sweet young thing to have some fun on a holiday?

Does anyone have such translator experience before? I mean the proper way to earn a holiday or as a job, I don't mean being an escort with 'special' services.

I know of people flying photographers and provide meals, lodging....and I was also once offered to be nanny during long hour flight. After touched down, have free lodging and you can go anywhere you want. Of course flights FOC. The mum just need someone to help with her children during the flight and her husband is willing to pay for it.

So such jobs are not impossible but I do wonder about my situation, especially when the wife is not around

Eco Tourism- Working With Elephants

I volunteered for 2 weeks at Elephant Nature Park in Mae Taeng valley, Chiang Mai, Thailand on 2nd March 2009.
It is not cheap, but everyday we get 3 buffet meals. So it is not overpriced in my opinion

You get to interact with over 30 elephants everyday! This place is sincere in helping abused elephants and the surrounding is peaceful, truly a magical place. You can read all the positive comments on internet

Almost everyone I read about or been there want to go back the soonest they have the money/time. So if you want a holiday while helping Asian elephants, I will recommend this place.

Great Holiday While Saving Turtles

Hi Everyone,

Turtle Volunteer Program at Redang Island

I just came back from 1 week volunteer program at Chagar Hutang Beach (Turtle Bay), Redang Island . It is off limit to tourists as it is a turtle sanctuary. But you can go there as a volunteer and enjoy the exclusive beach. Just about 15 people on that long stretch of beach!
Don't have to wait for resort boats to bring you for snorkelling....everyday can just jump into the sea in front of you.
Many different species of coral (95% alive) and fish. If lucky can see baby sharks and turtles. Got a big fat X'mas tree coral .

It's a popular program, but I still manage to join. So don't lose heart, try your best to book.
Actually no need to promote as it's always almost fully booked, but I want to share with everybody as I truly enjoyed it!

You already know that turtles are endangered species, right? Sabah & Sarawak has banned the sales of turtle eggs however Terengganu state has yet to do so. So now there is a petition going on till Feb 2010 : “ Say No To Turtle Eggs”

Please Share Info On Glass/ Steel Recycling

Hi Friends,

I have accumulated around 10 big plastic bags of beer/glass bottles.
Some questions:

1) Beside them being bulky, any reason why the charity recycling bins near in my neighbourhood don't accept them. Is it because the selling price is too little? Even the scavenger who I gave my aluminium cans, plastic or paper refused them. Can glass be recycled in Malaysia?

2) I researched and YWCA in Brickfields accept glass. I am staying in Cheras, Bdr Sri Permaisuri. If any kind green soul willing to help me bring the items to Brickfields please PM me. I don't drive but I am keen to do my part for planet Earth.

BTW: FYI I checked with a scrap buying company but was advised they can't recycle glass & my household volume is too little. That is why I am appealing for assistance here.

Question about steel

Kindly share if such material can be recycled? Example those can food containers, caps from chilli/ ketchup, lids from glass pasta sauce jars/ fruit jam. Pls note I am not into making any decoration or art item from the cans yeah....
