WTA- small upgrade

Hey guys, I have the sudden urge to upgrade my pc.

What comes to mind is just to upgrade the motherboard, processor and the graphics card.

So what I have now is:

Motherboard - Asus P7P55 LX
GPU - Radeon 5770
Processor - i5 750 @ 2.67 Ghz

Not sure if my motherboard still support the higher end GPU and processor tho but I'm pretty sure the current motherboard don't have USB 3.0. I have a budget of RM1k. Also, I'm currently running on Gigabye Odin 550w PSU and connected to 5 HDD(will add another SSD in the future).

Is there any worthy upgrades around that budget range? It would be cool to know if I could only upgrade the GPU and processor while keeping the current motherboard to save up on other stuff.

Usage would be casual 1080p movies and once in a while gaming with high settings(eg. Mass Effect 3).
