Hello everyone,

I just got a new DSLR camera 10 days ago and has just been doing some self reading and testing on the basic knowledge I've learnt. Prior to this I have just been using digital camera. I've got myself a Nikon D5000 with the kit lens.

I'm creating this thread to document some of my photos that I have taken and hope that I would be able to slowly learn more from all of you gurus here. I haven't got my theme of style yet, still searching for my style, so you may see that all these photos may be very ordinary. But as I said, I am very new to DSLR, so please feel free to C & C.

Photo 1 - One of my very first photo. Is this called Pika-Pika?

Photo 2 - Photo of my venus fly trap.
[WTA] Portable wireless broadband

Hello everyone,

I'm actually looking to get a portable wireless broadband. I've been doing some survey on the 3 broadband - Celcom, Maxis and U Mobile. However, i could not get much infor, and i must admit that i'm a noob when it comes to pc and connectivity. So, i'm hoping that anyone here could give me some infor to guide to choose a good wireless broadband service that is more value for money for me.

My work actually requires me to travel quite often, most of the time, to remote sites like Kelantan, Ipoh, Taiping, Melaka, Penang and of course, KL area. I'd be logging in webpage, checking and entering data (for my work) at these sites. I was checking through Maxis page and see that they have no coverage (or maybe bad coverage) in Kelantan area. I'm not too sure. I also see that people is recommending Celcom broadband if I'm to use it in remote area. You see, i do not have streamyx at home, and i dont do any heavy downloading like BT and things like that. I'd be surfing the net for infor and maybe some downloading of some files and things like that and of course, for my work, I'll be logging in to data webpage and checking data and entering data into the page. Of course, i intend to use my portable wireless at home (when i'm at home, in KL) since i do not have a streamyx. As such, i hope people here could help provide me which infor regarding the following:

1) Is there any other service provider for wireless broadband (portable), other than Celcom, Maxis and U Mobile?
2)Which broadband has a wider coverage. Maybe explain their strong point in terms of coverage in KL and remote area.
3) Is the coverage of the broadband, the same as their mobile phone coverage? I'm actually using maxis mobile now and i find that sometimes, when i'm at home, in my room and also in HUKM or Puchong, there is no line (or low signal). Does this mean that Maxis wireless broadband will have the same problem at this spots?
4) How is the speed of these wireless broadband? I know that the speed would not be as good as a landline, like streamyx of things like that. However, could you just roughly give me a proportion of the speed compare to streamyx 1Gbs? (i've decided that i want a portable wireless broadband as my main aim is to be mobile)
5) Which is the one that is more value for money, considering my usage and application? What are the package/ promotion available?

Thanks for viewing and reading through and providing me your 2 cents. If there is any topic that is discussing about this, please feel free to provide me the topic. Thanks.

***you need not answer to all my questions. Just give me your 2 cents worth in order for me to make my own decision.

[Adoption] 2 kittens for adoption

Dear All,

My friend have got 2 kittens for adoption. they are not of any good and high value breed. they are just stray cats but they are very cute and adorable.

there were actually 3 of them, but one died when we found them, maybe cos of hunger and cold. looking at that condition, we decided to take care of them while looking for people to adopt them because we doesnt wanna take the risk of the another 2 dying. both of us could not take care of them. me, because no pets are allowed (condo) while my friend have got another cat which couldnt accept these kittens (keep on attacking them).

Please do PM me if any of you are interested. we would prefer if you can adopt both of them because they are like twins now, do everything together. our last resort will be to donate them to "Paws" but we are dreading to do that because, donating them will also means separating them as "Paws" also will donate them to people who wanna adopt them.

by the way, there is one male and one female.

i have some photos with me, some might be blur. if interested, please PM me or if you need futher information, you can ask here.

Location: Klang Valley
Adoption is free.

It was sent
by one of the daughters. The dead body was so tightly squeezed inside
the coffin, with no space left in it! When they opened the lid, they
found a letter on top;which read as follows.

Dear Cousins,
I am sending Ahma body to you since it was her wish that she should be
cremated in the compound of our ancestral home in Tung Shin. Sorry,
could not come along as all of my paid leaves are consumed.

You will find inside the coffin, under Ahma's body, 12 bottles of
Yohmeitsu,10
packets of Swiss chocolates!and packets of Chinatown Lap Cheong. Please
divide these among all of you.

On Ahma's feet you will find 3 new pairs of Nike Air shoes. One for Ah
boy(size 10). Another one for Ah Mei's(size 8) and last one for Ah
Lien's sons(size 6).Hope the sizes are correct. Ahma is wearing 6 CK
T-Shirts. The large size is for Ah Bak and the others are for my
nephews. Just distribute them among yourselves.

The 2 new Armani Jeans that Ahma is wearing are for the boys. The Rolex
watch that Lee Ah Bai wanted is on Ahma's left wrist. Kiasu Aunty Pei
Pei, Ahma is wearing the Tiffany necklace, earrings and ring that you
asked for. Please take them.

The 6 white Polo cotton socks that Ahma is wearing must be divided
among my teenage cousins. Let me know what else you need as Ah Kong is
also not keeping well nowadays. I can send all required things when our
Ah Kong goes back too............!

Sun

My requirements are as below:

1) No mobile function
2) can be with or without camera
3) have Wifi, bluetooth and infrared
4) 512Mhz processor (is it this that determine the speed and stability of the PDA?)
5) Price: RM1000 to RM1200

I have surveyed a few brands and have a few brands in mind, which is Dell, Acer & HP.

A) Can someone tell me which brand among my choice is better, in terms or quality and price, referring to my requirement above.
B) I've seen my friend's PDA by HP always hang and need to restart. What causes this?

I knew that there is a model by HP that comes with camera, Wifi, bluetooth and infrared last time and it only cost RM1100. i tried asking for that but the saleperson told me that HP no longer coming out with that model. kind of limited edition. Here are my questions:

i) is it true?
ii) any way that i can still purchase that model?
iii) can someone tell me the model?

Also,
a) can somebody tell me the main difference between Palm and Pocket PC?
b) can Palm open, read, edit and create Microsoft's files such as Words, Excel, Powerpoint and etc.?

Thanks a lot for guidance. By the way, have anyone open a topic like this before? i've tried looking for it, but found nothing. but if there is a topic as mine, Moderator please close my thread and provide me the link to that thread. thank you very much.
