Nightmare with interior designer in Malaysia

Just wanted to get more input.

Good evening everyone,

I’d like to share my experience with an interior design project that’s left my family and me incredibly frustrated — and hopefully get some advice.

After completing the basic renovation of our double-storey corner lot (piping, electrical, etc.), we hired a professional interior design firm to handle the furnishing and finishing as the house was essentially a blank canvas. The idea was to have a leader who could oversee the project efficiently.

Unfortunately, we were very wrong.

What was supposed to be a 4-month project has dragged on for 10 months — and it’s still far from done. Worse, their built-in furniture has blocked essential power points, making the installation of large appliances nearly impossible. When we raised this, they demanded extra payment to fix their own mistakes — along with the final payment (around 15%), which I’m currently refusing.

Why? Because the work is not complete, and many of the materials used are substandard — with wooden panels already sagging or warped before use.

Mind you, the costs were not cheap - I'll just say it was around RM150k to RM200k, just for interior design — and this company is supposedly reputable, registered with both MIID (Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers) and CIDB. Sadly, those affiliations seem to mean little in terms of quality or accountability.

Before I hire a new team to take over, does anyone know where or how I can lodge a formal complaint?

At this point, I can't just let these people off for delivering such poor standard of work. I guess it's more a matter of principle.

Thank you.

Oh and if there's an ID that would like to be in consideration to takeover, can introduce yourself in the thread also.

Having to "Repair" connection over and over again.

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx / 1 mbps
Location: Selangor
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Nope

Personal equipment
Modem: Innacomm W3100
Router: Innacomm W3100
Firewall used: ??Windows?

Problem details
First occurence of problem: 2 days ago
Problem frequency: Super duper frequent
Problem description:
Well here's the problem. I always get disconnected from the router for no apparent reason. Wireless by the way. It happens all the time and to make it worse, randomly. Sometimes I can stay online for 1 hour plus..... sometimes i get disconnected 3 times in 5 minutes....(wtf...)
From my observation, the router is still connected to the internet. (From the lights) It's just me who can't connect to the internet.

Windows will also say that It can't connect to any network in the list.

The only way to solve this problem so far is to right click at the internet connection icon and select the repair button.
This temporarily solves the problem. The problem comes back again after awhile. Just a matter of time ==.

I also can't connect to the internet by selecting the network from the list of available network. I can only go online if i hit the right-click button and choose the repair option...

So sifu-sifu sekalian... can you help me with this problem... It's getting really annoying.....

By the way I'm using HP Pavilion dv1000 (Windows XP sp 3)
Network card = Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection

Edit : BTW, just noticed this....the problem seems to occur more frequently the further away I am from the router. But I still get 4 bars.... But it was alright a month ago. T.T

Thanks in advance guys.

Medicine in UTAR or UCSI? or others?

So here is the problem..... I got the offer letter from both U and now I have trouble choosing between these two university =.=

Can anyone help me out? (especially current/former students of the said universities?)

Cost-wise both are about the same. So..money is not a problem. (for now lol)

What I would like to know is which university can provide "a better quality of education/study environment"

Another thing is well..... at first I didn't really put UTAR into consideration as it's the first year that they'll be doing medicine so I'm worried that there may be problems. Staff and stuff like that. (or am I thinking too much?)

However when I went for the interview I find that they were...how do I say this.... more serious about the interview compared to the other. So this kinda put UTAR in a whole new light in my eyes.

But UCSI is more well established. I mean their 1st batch will be coming out soon to do their housemanship and so on.
Having to do clinical in K.T. didn't really bother me.

So I was hoping that all the people here can assist me in making a decision.

as for other U....I have never considered MAHSA for medic but maybe I should now.
CUCMS sounds ok. I've read from other post that AIMST seems to have some problems pulak ==
Monash and IMU on the other hand well.......too expansive XD
(I mean.... If there is no difference...why spend more money.)

So thank you for your time. To those who bother to read this

Aftermarket alarm system for Myvi

As per topic....
My Myvi was broken into yesterday and that damn thief stole my ancient handphone.
After some doing some "research" on the internet I found out that the thief used the "bonet cable pulling method" or whatever you want to call it. He even took my relay from the fuse box and now my fan is not working

So now I'm considering to install an aftermarket alarm system for my Myvi. Any recommendations? So far I have my eyes on steelmate. Is it any good? But I haven't decided on what model that I want lol. Also can anyone recommend to me a good workshop to install this alarm system? Preferably near segambut/kepong there? Budget is below RM1k

Thanks in advance.
