Hi everyone, just want to ask have anyone experienced paying premium by credit card?

The bank agent sent me a form and asking me to fill it if want to pay by credit card, but I found I need to give them my credit card CVV number inside the form.

I don't feel secure on giving out my CVV number. Is this normal procedure for paying premium using credit card?

Any special software/program for QS study?

Hi all (especially those Quantity Survey Graduates),

My little sis is going start her degree course of Quantity Survey and I am planning to buy her a laptop for her degree study.

Due to the reason I am not graduate from QS, I have no idea is there any QS software/program that requires high computing resource. Can anyone tell is there any?

Just want to take that into consideration (if any) when buying the laptop so she will not face the problem of incompatibilities.

Hi everyone.. just to ask anyone here attended the HP graduate programme's technical interview lately? I would like to ask a few questions.

1) For those working under HP graduate programme currently, how is the programme in term of learning, work/life balance and salary.

2) I am invited to attend the interview tomorrow and wonder of what type of questions will be asked? so I can prepare.

3) Is it a written test during the interview?

4) Is the requirement of candidate's quality very high? like they only hire/let those who have very deep IT knowledge to join the programme.

Olympus Digital Camera

Hi everyone, I bought an Olympus digital camera in the PC fair last week. After a few hours of testing at home, the camera produces weird noisy from the inner part of the camera whenever it zooms in/out. But it is still functioning well.

I brought it back to one of the branches listed on the receipt, and the staff told me that it's normal. So I cannot do anything because he is just keep saying that it's normal and I know not much about digital camera.

So now I feels that the staff was just avoiding responsibility and I am thinking to bring the digital camera to the Olympus Service Center and I just want to ask you guys should I bring it to Olympus Service Center? I am not from KL so I do not wish to be served with "It's like that" if I am in the service center.

Need advice on FYP

Im planning to do a FYP project that need to contain at least elements like below:

- j2me programming (get input from user and transfer the input via bluetooth)
- j2se programming (always listening to incoming input and execute some SQL commands based on the input)
- web server information (based on database) setup by Apache

I know some basic j2se and setting up database.

Im just wondering is it possible for me to finish all 3 elements in around 16 weeks (implementation)..

need some advice seriously.

CSL Phones? My personal experience

Hi all lowyat forum's user, I wish to share my personal experience on CSL phone.

On 13th of this month, I bought a CSL handphone modeled Bluberry 9000T.

After a few days since I first used the handphone, I discovered that there was a problem on the keyboard.

The foot stop button was not working correct. When I pressed the button, it inserts the question sign instead of the foot stop sign.

So I went to the Muar CSL Centre (Golden Horse Mobile Centre) with the problem I encountered.

I almost forget how many persons I had spoke to in the mobile centre but nevermind, it is not important. In there, I got 2 solutions from the staffs, but the nature of those solutions were not solved my problem 100%, which is just persuading me stay away from the 'problem'. The staffs there also keep on saying 'cincai la' , ' one button only ma' to persuade me to accept the ERROR. Followed by a lot of nonsense including demo of PERFECTLY WORKING NOKIA PHONE bla bla bla.

After half hour argument, one guy said he call the KL HQ to seek the solution, now I thought that KL HQ will do something. But very disappointing, KL HQ's reply was ' THE SOFTWARE IS DESIGNED IN THAT WAY'. So one thing comes into my mind, ' YOUR COMPANY PRODUCT BLUEBERRY 9000T IS DESIGNED TO CONTAIN ERROR'...

So, at the end, one staff concluded that there was printing error on the button..ok..I accept this because I was already tired and I asked, can you reprint and fix the button of my phone. Then, all of them keep silence and continue saying '1 button only ma'. OMG, ok..finally I finished it by trade in the handphone that I used for only 4 days. I traded in the phone mainly because of I felt that I was annoyed by the phone and their staff already.

Since there is lack of CSL phone comment thread in this forum, the purpose for me to post this is because I wish to share my experience to whom thinking to buy a handphone from CSL and want to listen some feedback before purchasing their phone. I DID NOT BROADCAST THE CONTENT OF THIS POST IN ANYWHERE.

To conclude advantage and disadvantage of CSL phone:
Advantage
CHEAP

DISADVANTAGE
POOR AFTER-PURCHASE SERVICE, from the beginning until the end, the staffs and even KL HQ were just asking me to live with the error.
POOR QUALITY CONTROL
