Broken Drum Pedal

Hi LYN Musicians. I'm not quite sure where to put this (there's too many pinned threads!) but mods kindly point me to the right direction if it's not supposed to be here.

Helping out a friend who busted a drum pedal where the connecting metal pin was broken (1st pic). It's supposed to be connected to the spring (now laid down in 2nd pic). Anyone knows where he can purchase this spare part or get this fixed? Also how much it would probably cost. Thanks a bunch!

Travel Electric Guitar

Appreciate recommendations for an electric guitar to be used for travelling just to keep my chops up while away. Has to have built in amp and preferably a gain/OD switch or something for distorted sounds. I know there are some Speedsters and SoloEttes out there but those are just too expensive.

Just to share my recent bad experience with this Streamyx agent with the forum nick tashfinsheikh

This is regarding my application for a new streamyx package to be installed at a new rented place

> 23 Nov 2011: As i was going to move in by 3 Dec, decided to submit application about 2 weeks before to have ample time for processing & installation. Was given the Confirmation Slip on the same day noting that i was registered.
> 26 Nov 2011: Waited for few days until on this date decided to check with him on the schedule of my installation
> 27 Nov 2011: This was his reply:

This is the date of your appointment - 24-11-2011 14:00
this is ur agent's phone no: ***-*** ****

Appointment on 24th and was told on the 27th ? Even that was after i queried him . Thinking it was a typo or mistake, i asked him again but was told to contact the installer asap.

I contacted the contractor and he told me that he already cam to my place on the 24 Nov but no one was home (of course! i haven't moved in yet & have no knowledge that he was coming) and he contacted my hp but got no answer (apparently found out later that this agent gave him a wrong no. )

Re-scheduled with the contractor to a later date (1 Dec 2011) as i was outstation and that was the only available time. When the day arrived, contractor told me that work order for my registration was cancelled as the appointment time had lapsed.

So i called my agent as i was about to move in a few days & for him to sort this mess. Turns out this guy can't really communicate well (even contractor didn't understand him, i surely didn't as well). And he blamed me saying that the contractor came and i wasn't there so it's my fault and now have to reapply and wait some more.

He made no effort to rectify the issue and try to solve this for a win-win situation or even apologize for giving me such late notice. I threatened to change to another agent and he told me to gladly go ahead. Naturally, i did.

I don't know if i'm just being unlucky here and others have dealt with him without any issues. But just sharing my experience, thoughts and heads-up to the public.

PC can't start...

Hi guys,

I'm experiencing this weird problem with my PC. The specs as in my sig. No hardware changes have occured recently. And i leave my PC on 24 hours. The old CRT monitor is usually off.

The thing is, when i switched on my monitor this morning, it was flickering terribly, no display on screen. Naturally, i suspected it was time to change monitors as its quite old. So i just switched off my PC by the power button.

Then i tried to switch on again after few mins. Next thing i know, my PC got alarm beeps and starts but can't boot. Monitor has 'no signal' msg on the screen. PC would power-up after few secs but auto-restarts afterwards. This happens in a neverending loop until i switch it off.

Abit AI7 mobo has the POST indicator thing. It goes from 83 > 03 > then stops at 80. I consulted the manual but it doesn't provide any clues. If anyone knows, hope u can help.

I haven't time to check and troubleshoot as I had to get to work already. Just want some ideas on what the probable cause would be and investigate as soon as i get back.

Unable to logon to windows

Hi guys. I'm having this strange problem on a laptop. Its a pentium M with a WinXP pro platform. The things is everything is fine during POST and windows loading but when it comes to the win logon interface, everything just slows down incredibly. Even typing the password would take ages for the masked letters to appear on screen. At this stage, using the shutdown button usually doesn't work. So i'd have to resort to pulling out the power plug and batteries to reboot. I've tried safe-mode and it loads fine. I'm suspecting some sort of virus probably affecting the drivers or sumthing. Besides REFORMAT pc, what are my options in troubleshooting this?

Problem details
First occurence of problem: 2nd June 2007
Problem frequency: Once
Problem description:

I have recently purchased a Linksys WRT54GL router to be used as a switch and wireless AP. To make things easy, i installed and set-up the router using the setup wizard. At the end of the config, it says that it could not be connected to the internet. This is what a friend advised on changing in the config:

-> Modem
IP: 192.168.1.1
DHCP: Enabled
DHCP Range: 192.168.1.100 onwards

-> Router
IP: 192.168.1.2
DHCP: Disabled

-> PC
IP: 192.168.1.3 (Static)

All of the above using the same netmask of 255.255.255.0. I have also done portforwarding on the modem. It also does not seem to work including the default settings. What could be the cause of the problem? And any idea on the resolution? Should further info/screenshots be required, do let me know.
