This is how it works:

The normal password reset page asks you to enter the username or email address and if that’s correct then a link is send to the email address associated with that account to reset your password but note that the password itself is not changed and you can just ignore the email and carry on.

But hackers have found a way in which they simply bypass that check and the password is reset by passing a special value in the key parameter of the reset page URL.

This is all you have todo: ....

Quickest fix: rename your wp-login something else. I don't use WP, so am not interested in digging its source and get you a fix now.

What got you into programming?

This is not a poll! So, before you slam 'POLL PHAILED' on me, I'd just like to clarify that all I'm trying to do is to stimulate a little small talk amongst the regulars and not so regulars here.

This part of the forum here is pretty dead, I'm sure you'll agree with me. It has basically turned into a Q&A section for noob questions (not that I have a problem with it) and emergency response ninja squad for college assignment slackers.

So, instead of yet another question about how to loop my asterisks so it looks like half a triangle or please help me, [copy pasted random disembodied code] tomorrow deadline, need asap, tq, let's get back to our roots.

I first got into programming because I want to make games. I am now doing anything but games so I believe I have pretty much failed myself. I still remember pointing my browser to altavista.com and searching for silly stuff like bresenham's line algorithm and accessing mode 13h. Not to mention all those time wasted waiting for DJGPP to compile my sub-100 lines C programs on my Pentium 100mhz.

Time passed, I was dumb enough to get an IT degree in Soft. Eng. in the hopes of meeting similar geeks like me in college (THERE WAS NONE) and now I'm making a living doing brain numbing business programming.

So, how about you guys? What got you into this mess?
